A man soaked by his own blood was holding the hand of a young girl. His ragged breathing was an obvious sign that he was already on his way to meet death. Yet something in him persisted as he knelt down to have the young girl's line of sight equal to him.

"Keep this in mind, Teuful." It took almost all of his energy to talk but he needed to convey what he wanted.

He continued. "The world is cruel and the good people can never live long. If it needs to have a black heart to survive in this filthy world then so be it."

He hugged the young girl tenderly and whispered, "Survive child…" He finally breathed his last breathe and fell to the ground.

The young girl wept and kept on muttering the words, "I understand."

"Wake up, Maria!"

It felt like as if my mind was sucked out of a pit hole as I heard the calls of somebody.

"Vivian said you need to get up. You might get late for school."

Dull's handsome face came into my view as I slowly opened my eyes. He sighed in relief when he noticed that I was already awake.

'Ah yes… I told him that he should be the one to wake me up every morning.'

I gestured him to get near me which he obediently did. When he was finally beside my bed, I grabbed his hand and pulled him unto the bed, making him fall right beside me. Without giving him a chance to flee, I wrapped both my hands and legs around his body.

I looked like a koala hugging its favourite tree.

"Where's my good morning kiss?" I softly spoke near his right ear.

Dull's body went stiff while his face was as red as a tomato.

I chuckled delightfully at his reaction.

"Dull, I don't mind giving up on the kiss as long as you help me prepare for school, alright?"

He immediately nodded as if his life depended on it.

"Sorry Dull, I'm not really a morning person." I spoke after I saw his response. "Maybe I should skip grades and proceed to college. Then I can choose afternoon cla.s.ses so I don't need to wake up early."

'Hmm… With my intelligence, I do have the chance to do that but it's so fun bullying some brats. Maybe after I kill Harlot, I will do so.'

"Maria… School…" Dull hesitantly spoke.

"You're right Dull, then you're first job is to carry me to the bathroom."

In the end, Dull resigned to his fate. For the whole morning, I was clinging unto him like a koala making the eyes of the servants bulge out in shock. Vivian was nagging me about how inappropriate it looked. She finally shut up when I gave her two choices. First choice, I let go of Dull but I won't go to school. Second choice, I shall keep on clinging to Dull and prepare to go to school like a good girl. Vivian vexingly chose the second choice.

Good thing that my parents already left the mansion for work. Thus, I was able to fully exploit Dull in the morning.

Sadly, I couldn't bring Dull to school. When the limousine finally stopped at the dropping station of my school, I looked at Dull intently and pinched his cheeks.

"Why do you have to be 22 years old?" From some reason I was annoyed.

Dull looked like he was wronged.

After messing with Dull, I gave him a USB.

"Dull, inside this is a list of a.s.signment that you need to work on today." I said as I alighted from the limousine and went on my way.

As usual, a lot of students couldn't help but steal glances on my direction which I don't mind at all.

The cla.s.sroom was noisy with the students' chattering but when I stepped in, a wave of silence erupted. Everyone's eyes were on me. Some eyes showed fear, some had contempt, and some had admiration.

With an air of elegance and indifference, I made my way to my seat.

"Welcome back, Maria." Vladimir greeted me with a smile as she walked towards my seat with Gwendolyn behind her.

"Maria! I'm happy you're back from your suspension." Gwendolyn's high-pitched voice obviously attracted some ears.

Vladimir frowned at the rude actions of Gwendolyn and she wanted to reprimand her but I already spoke before she could.

"Actually, I could use a longer vacation." I nonchalantly spoke as I rest my chin on my hand and put on a tired face. "I couldn't have enough time to fully spread my wings and enjoy a VIP cruise s.h.i.+p that my family owns."

Envy momentarily flashed in the expression of Gwendolyn but was then replaced by an amicable smile.

"How about we go out together this coming winter break?" Vladimir suggested with harmless intentions.

"That would be great!" Gwendolyn clapped her hand in glee.

As for me, I just nodded in response.

After a couple of minutes, a teacher came in and announced the start of the cla.s.s. It seemed like our cla.s.s had a new cla.s.s adviser.

Hence, this was how my first day of cla.s.s went after three days of suspension.
