The person who reacted first wasn't Eyisha but Kitsi.
"LET GO OF THE PRINCESS!!"
She said as she brandished her two scimitars. The rest of the warriors followed suit to charge at Zhao Wei. The situation had overwhelmed Zhao Wei, for close to a year he had no one to hold conversations with. Even though he had Panda and Myra who he seemed to understand to a certain extent, it still felt like something was missing.
When he heard they could speak English his emotions got the best of him as he ran into the first person he saw crying tears of joy!
Eyisha saw this happening up close, the person she felt fear from was partially crying partially frowning and partially smiling. The sight made her have gooseb.u.mps, his tears not only showed his happiness but were also venting out his frustrations for so long giving him quite the awkward look.
Seeing this Eyisha commanded her people, "Stop!! He means no harm"
Many of them including Kitsi stopped, but there were two who were quite close who pretended they didn't hear anything. They killed one of the other warriors by bludgeoning his head with their trident and both continued to charge at both Zhao Wei and the princess.
Eyisha cursed her luck as she was in quite an awkward position before and couldn't get into her fighting stance in time as her right arm holding the trident was being blocked by the person hugging her. It was apparent that they were planning to pierce them both.
She tried to use her tail to slam one of the a.s.sailants but he'd apparently prepared for that as he used his tail to deflect the strike while the tridents still came at them.
At this moment Zhao Wei had suddenly turned. His eyes were read and puffy but there was a sense of annoyance within them. He hooked one of the tridents with his tooth blade and deflected the force to his left while using his right leg to kick the other trident up.
The two a.s.sailants weren't prepared for such an occurrence as their bodies kept moving forward in the charge while their weapons were off target. After kicking the trident, Zhao Wei raised his leg to catch the guy on his right in the belly while he raised his left arm to catch the guy running forward in a clothesline.
Both tumbled back and similar to the person he was recently hugging, their lower bodies were that of a snake. Both men got up as quick as they could as the people behind them regained their senses and tried apprehend the two.
But apparently they were trained pretty well as they were still slightly faster than the rest. Zhao Wei looked behind, his face still contorted in the weird fas.h.i.+on from before, wiping some tears away as he sobbed.
"Kill?" He asked.
Eyisha was still quite shocked, this person had entered the fight so suddenly, he didn't go into a stance or need to ready his weapon. Just before the attacks were supposed to land he was still facing her which meant he shouldn't be able to see the attack coming, but he dealt with them instantly and perfectly as if he had eyes behind his head.
Zhao Wei had no such abilities, but living in the jungle where an attack could come from almost anywhere fine tuned his intuition. Even without looking he could feel the attack coming especially if the two men showed such blood l.u.s.t. From the wind pressure alone Zhao Wei had naturally deducted the size of the weapon and its potential angle of attack.
"Umm... I'd actually need one alive for questioning?" She asked, although it sounded as if she needed a favour rather than to kill someone.
"Alive..." He nodded.
One of the men aimed for his legs with the swing of the trident on the left while the other spun to do something like the tail whip version of a roundhouse kick from the right.
He couldn't dodge as he was afraid the attacks would land on the lady behind him. He hit the trident down while deflecting pus.h.i.+ng the tail to hit his partner away.
But this one had prepared for his attack to miss as it followed up the tail whip with a trident stab as he spun.
This one's trajectory was off as although it was a smart move it wasn't perfectly executed causing his aim to tilt. Even if Zhao Wei dodgers it wouldn't hit the lady.
Right in front of the a.s.sailants eyes Zhao Wei had disappeared. The next second he turned pale as Zhao Wei was climbing up his trident like a gecko while upside down. If people from the old world saw this, they would think he was the cousin of S^*ako from the Gru$%e.
The other a.s.sailant regained his bearing, feeling quite dizzy, as he looked up, his partner was slumping down with his neck bent in an unnatural way.
Walking towards him was the person that protected the princess. He was quite frightened at the sight as he sent several jabs with the trident while screaming. It was faster than Zhao Wei, but it was a lot of wasted movement, Zhao Wei simply tilted his body the bare minimum it needed to avoid each move before disappearing again.
This time, he appeared behind the man. The a.s.sailant turned around, fear showing in his eyes, he felt something was wrong but didn't know what. In Zhao Wei's hand was an arm which seemed familiar.
At some point Zhao Wei had only needed a finger a hand to climb up and down his hill while carrying the results of his hunt which tend to be several bodies of medium beasts or even big beasts if he was quite lucky that day. Each time he did, he'd be carrying a minimum of 500 kilos per climb, there was basically no way flesh would have stood a chance against his grip, he might as well have had claws instead of fingers.
The rest of the people were stuck in place as they were scared stiff at the sight of what just happened. They were less than 3 seconds behind the a.s.sailants but this person had utterly beaten them both while he was still crying in a weird face, wiping his tears on his sleeves once in a while. From then on, he had branded himself in their minds as the crying demon.
The person knocked out as his body finally registered that a whole limb was missing and sent this message to the a.s.sailants brain.
Zhao Wei looked at Eyisha as he pointed at the knocked out guy on the ground as he wiped one eye which was puffy now. "Alive" he stated.
Eyisha nodded as she looked at Zhao Wei finally understanding that she wasn't facing a powerful person, but a beast.
