He stared openmouthed at the empty magazine slot , he wanted to scream and shout but it was not the right

He got up and limped forward where the figure was last standing

He limped forward and found a tall wooden fence eight feet tall

He didn't hesitate and climbed on top of the fence

"He carefully stepped around the pool of blood and searched the drawers, one had a walkie talkie , he grabbed it and examined more

He drank a gla.s.s of water and gulped down it in a single breath which was kept there

Suddenly , a voice cracked somewhere in the room : "Three new messages , message one left at 5:41 A.M."

Then a lady's voice cracked in it :" Hey Manita this is Aakruti, we had to leave to Mumbai so take care of Preeti , we'll be back soon before you know it"

Another Beep The message ended

The voice again cracked :" Message Two left at 6:37 A.M."

Again the same voice cracked "Oh My G.o.d , there is chaos going on in Mumbai , there are doctors who are checking Manish because he got bit by a weird guy , please just leave the city and take Preeti with you"

Beep again , message ended

The voice again cracked :" Message Three left at 8:01 A.M."

Once again the lady spoke but in a glum tone :" Preeti baby if you can hear this call the police th that's 1-0-0 , we love you , we love you , we love-"

He guessed it was the final message

"Daddy ?"

"Huh ?" The girlish voice startled Rajesh , he soon realized that the voice cracked from the walkie-talkie

"Um.....h.e.l.lo ?" Rajesh replied in the walkie-talkie

"You need to be quiet" The voice demanded

"You're- You're a little girl" Rajesh exclaimed

"Yeah so what ?" The voice shrugged

"Okay , my bad , listen I'm not a monster okay so if you got any sort of weapon please don't shoot me , Got it ?" Rajesh requested

"Okay" The voice agreed

"Good" Rajesh breathed a sigh of relief "Where are your parents ?"

"They left for Mumbai for a trip and left me with Manita , my babysitter" The girl explained

"Okay so , where are you ? Are you safe ?" Rajesh asked moving to the kitchen window

"I'm hiding in my treehouse , those things cannot reach up there" Rajesh had to squint through the window

Then he saw a short figure appear from the treehouse

"Now , can you see me , I can see you through the window" The girl said

Rajesh waved her

Suddenly the girl screamed :"Aaaaah ! Behind you"

Rajesh heard some soft growls and made a quick turn to see that one of that things was strangling him

He couldn't resist its inhuman strength as the figure closed - FOR HIS THROAT !
