Blobby sniffed the claws of the dead kangaroo and looked at Radley. Radley smiled and picked Blobby up and placed him on his shoulder, "No Blobby. Your current form is stronger and more versatile. I rather keep that form."

Blobby still sniffed the claws, which got Radley thinking. He took out his axe and chopped down as hard as possible on the claws which ended up deflecting his axe without so much as a scratch on it.

This impressed Radley. He might be able to make use of it. He set about butchering the animal and removing the skin. The claws, the real prize he was after wasn't so easy. He had to painstakingly cut out the tendons and then wrangle it around a bit. The problem was that the tendons were tougher than the skin.

When he finally removed it he wondered how he could use it practically. The only thing he could think of was to use it as a form of protection. Using the skin he could interlace the claws over his chest to create a protective barrier, but that would have meant that it would only work with weapons that have a wide striking area. Penetration might get in-between. This meant he needed to use the skin. He was going to use the skin to produce a larger backpack.

He started a new fire and placed the new pelt in the water as he did with the other on to soften the skin. He cut off some meat from the carca.s.s and dragged the body away into the forest. He didn't want to attract too much attention. He cooked and ate the meat closer to a rocky outcrop. There he slept and waited for the next morning even though he wasn't particularly tired.

The next morning there were a lot more activity creatures of all shapes and sizes who drank water from the river.

It was a crystal clear day. Radley had to move his camp closer to the tree line to avoid unnecessary conflict and went about properly cleaning the skins.

It took him most of the day which included smoking the skins. He started cutting up the skins and used dried wood to reinforce his new larger backpack and to improve his chest armor. It was a pity he didn't have any tanning solution left which meant he had to get these new pieces treated and his next stop. He now had an improved backpack that was able to take a whole lot more and a makes.h.i.+ft sleeping bag, though it still needed some padding on the inside.

He decided to do one last hunt. He was going to make it count. He needed a level three. He carefully scanned the river for anything that wasn't in some sort of pack and was easy to lure away from the river. He needed a solitary predator. It was a risky decision, but one that could finally level him up. This time it was a creepy looking creature with horns coming out from all over his body. You could barely make out its head but it looked similar to a mongoose. Cornimarsunum, Lv.3 Aggressive nature.

This time he was going to properly hunt this animal with traps and the like, but he needed to move fast. He grabbed a bunch of vines and loosely laced them into each other to create a rudimentary net. He connected a long vine and wrapped it around a tree and a higher branch so that he could quickly pull and raise the net on a moment's notice.

He looked at blobby, "Okay you're up. Use your needle shot on him and lure him my way."

Little blobby skittered towards the beast until he was in range. He used his spine shot on the creature to get it attention. Luckily, the creature was just lazing in the sun when two small spines punched him in the face. This annoyed the creature severely as little Blobby fled towards Radley. The creature charged after him. There was a problematic speed difference as the spiked beast quickly caught up to little Blobby. Blobby knew he wasn't going to get away so it decided to run towards the beast and shot two spines directly at the beast's eyes. A bunch of finer horns propped up to defend his eyes. Radley was able to catch up and used a sonic boom to disorient beast to give Blobby and escape chance, but this enraged the creature even more but s.h.i.+fted its target towards Radley. Little Blobby saw an opportunity and bit into the beast who was still slightly disoriented, poisoning it.

The poison turned out to be pretty aggressive, and within moments the beast experienced paralysis. Blobby used this to flee. Radley saw it limp slightly on its leg and followed up with another sonic boom. The creature drearily charged Radley down. Radley quickly fell back and waited for the creature to follow suit. It lost a lot of speed due to that bite. Just before the creature pounced, Radley lifted the makes.h.i.+ft net. While it wasn't made to exactly stop him it was made to slow him down. Radley used his Agility boost and swung the axe towards the beast's eyes.

Again horns formed to protect his eyes. When the axe connected it sent shockwaves through Radley's arms, but this didn't hinder him as he pivoted on the spot and attacked the beasts weaker underbelly. It penetrated quite easily. The beast flipped on the spot and sliced through the vines and lacerating Radley in numerous areas. Radley used this opportunity and used his power slam combined with his speed to rip open the creature's stomach will it was still in mid-flight. It caused the creature's organs to spray everywhere as it hit the ground. There was no way in h.e.l.l Radley was getting through the creatures impressively horned armor but it was obvious its underbelly was weak. Radley lost 75% of his health. The creature wasn't dead yet. Yes, it lost its entrails, but it was still no slouch. Radley wasn't able to use his power slam again but at least he was able to run from the creature until it succ.u.mbed to its wound. The paralysis would be a major boost in that regard.
