She removed her helmet and it revealed that she was a Dracana. A sweet face. She had long straight black hair with a purple streak in it. The armor she wore was highly ornate and gave off a deep crimson hue. Annixon noticed the rune engraving on the armor. This was one beast of an armor. She still had an axe in her hand that had a similar coloring style to her armor. It was weird for Annixon to see a full clad individual with heavy armor that was shorter than him. An impressive woman.

She spoke up in a rather soft but strong voice, "Who do I awe the pleasure of saving us? By the way my name Athena."

"The name is Annixon Bright. You guys really gave me a short amount of time to make that device. I would have rather did an extensive test before actual live comba…"

The dead creature turned into a puddle of good and sank into the ground. Annixon grimaced at the site, "Well, that was gross. Look you guys can hop a ride with me, it is getting rather late after all."

"It's fine, master Bright. We really do appreciate your timely intervention, but I think travel would be bad for my companion over there."

Annixon looked over at the group. One was cradling a stubble that used to be his arm, "I take it you don't have the arm…a horrible thing to have happened."

"It's no matter. We will rest up here for the night and make our way to Landenium Port. We have some healing potions and one of our own is a healer. While she doesn't specialize, she should do well enough."

Annixon shrugged and made his way to the horses and checked their leashes.

Athena made his way back to her group. She checked on her wounded friend who gave her a pained smile.

A voice sounded just behind them, "Aaahaa, The mistress abandoned me. You fools made a bit of a mistake. Do not fret it will be over quickly."

He walked toward the female elven mage and punched cleanly through her chest. He used his other hand to rip her in two. Her organs and viscera sprayed everywhere, but the other barely had time to respond. The one paladin's head got cleanly ripped off as blood sprayed from the wound he twisted on the spot and gouged out the man that lost his arm's throat. He grabbed with his free arm but he died before he even reached the ground. He went for the other female mage. He ripped a piece of her spine out of her body and smashed her head into her body. He grabbed the other paladin by the chest and ripped out the entire rib cage. His organs came cras.h.i.+ng out as he fell backward. Everything happened so fast. Athena had barely any time to react. She swung her axe straight towards the man's head. He just casually backhanded her. The force mangled her arm and broke some of her ribs."The man looked down at his handiwork, "Fascinating, you weren't cleaved in half."

She cried out in pain. The deaths of the others were quite but that cry could be heard through the entire forest.

"My apologies. I tend to kill them cleanly. Pity that you will have to suffer. Don't worry I will end it now."

She felt real fear for the first time in her life. He punched towards her face with the intent to rip it off but was stopped dead in his track.

Something was equaling him in strength. It shouldn't be possible. He was being possessed by six Decayed ones. A punch followed up making his head twist a bit.

Annixon stood there still holding on the man's hand, "I killed you. How are you still alive?"

He was revering to the scarred man who he had put an arrow through the head.

The scarred man smiled malevolently, "You should have blown me up. Necromancy is a wonderful flow art. Put some protection in place and you can even raise the dead, though at a price. Still an easy payment to make."

"Did you really have to kill those adventurers!?"

"Yes, they were ants to me. I needed to vent my frustration a bit. So, what's a bunch of adventures for you? They were just strangers at the end of the day."

"You're a twisted freak. Heck, even your skin has gone completely white. You lost your humanity for a simple power boost?"

"I've gotta ask. You are much stronger since the last time we met? Even for a battlemage that is uncharacteristic, and you did it so quickly."

"Wouldn't you love to know?"

"Ah, well and here I thought we could solve things amicably."

"You threw that change out the window when you killed innocent people who were just trying to protect a city under threat."

"How…nauseating."

The scarred man sent a punch straight into Annixon's. Annixon luckily prepared for this and created a powerful barrier to protect against it. It doesn't mean he wasn't sent flying. He crashed through a few trees before he was able to rectify his position.

Annixon recovered and set a speed flow art into his body accelerating himself towards the scarred man. The scarred man just stood still. They intercepted each other sending a ma.s.sive shockwave that sent debris into all directions. They were dead even in strength. Punches got lobbed towards each other. Each punch sending a shockwave outwards. The very ground was starting to give way. Annixon saw that this wasn't going anywhere. Slipped through a punch grabbed him by the neck and sent him cras.h.i.+ng into the ground. The man just smiled as he looked at Annixon, "You think you're the only one to be able to protect himself with magic. The difference between you and me is I use the planet itself and you will eventually tire out. You see the limits of ma…"

Annixon crashed his fist straight into his face sending out another shockwave. The man kicked him off and quickly followed up with a powerful strike to his nose. Even with magic, it was only able to absorb so much damage. It sent him careening towards Athena. Perfect that was exactly what Annixon hoped for.
