On a seemingly normal morning, where everything seemed ever unchanging and dull, the world came to an end, wait no, I mean something kinda big-ish happened, so it went on the news, ye, that!

A trainee reporter was going about his business just finis.h.i.+ng his game session and exiting a nondescript internet cafe when all of a sudden he heard someone scream: "HEY, Watch out!", startled he turned around to see... a note-worthy incident to start his career *ahem* I mean a tragedy that must be properly recorded, yes, he needs to collect evidence, that's all... so he pulled his phone out and started recording

...A bit earlier that day

-Little Girl POV-

Today is the day a little girl's world is about to crumble... and then to be rebuilt only to crumble again moments later...

As her parents asked her to sit on the couch with serious expressions the girl wondered just what they were going to discuss that required such a serious atmosphere

"Father, mother, I still need to finish my homework, what did you want to tell me?" asked the innocent little girl

Her mother looked at her worriedly and maybe a bit anxiously for a while and then began speaking:

"Alice, I need you to listen to us calmly..."

Alice tilted her head in a cute way wondering if maybe she did something wrong and that's why her parents look so much stricter than usual

"You see, Alice, we, we are actually, are actually-" her mother choked on words as she was trying to bravely tell her the truth, countless thoughts going around her head about what she was going to say to a mere 9 year old, but this has to be done, after all the people from the adoption service will come by in a few days and she doesn't want her daughter to be kept in the dark any longer

"We aren't your biological parents, what's all the fuss, just let her hear it straight" the 'father' came out with it straight (Author: duuude, not cool yo)

"Dear!" The angry 'mother' gave her husband a death stare pus.h.i.+ng him in the the couch with the mere pressure of her gaze

"...Eh?" A buzz rang in Alice's head as she stood there dazed, everything around her including what the sound of her parents voice seemingly fading away

'I'm... adopted?' Alice, being much smarter than the peers of her age immediately understood the implications, but even so it was a big blow to a 9 year old girl to all of a sudden discover that her 'parents' aren't actually her parents

'...I see... it makes sense after all, so that's why I never felt "that" from them, yeah so it's alr- its alrig-' *wuu* tears started gathering at the corner of her eyes as a small whimper escaped her mouth

Her parents were frozen still by that image, never before seeing her cry, they started panicking, especially her mother immediately trying to rea.s.sure her:

"Alice, it's alright baby, momma's still the same, nothing ch"

As her mother tried to calm her down, Alice took a big sniff and wiped the tears from her eyes with her sleeve

"It's alright"

"Huh?" x2

"Sor-Sorry to bother you for so long and thank you for taking care of me so far" Alice blurted quickly and bowed slightly, proceeding to run through the door and outside while her parents were stunned silly

"ALICE" cried her mother proceeding to run after her, but when she got out the door, Alice was nowhere to be seen

"Dear, call the police, I can't see her, I'm going after her!" the mother said rus.h.i.+ngly

"Eh, eh? O-okay" before he could even respond he heard a *whoosh* and his wife disappeared with amazing speed from the entrance-way... he proceeded to call the cops

-Back to moments before the "accident"-

'Sigh, I ended up running without thinking, I wonder if they are worried, my par-... right they aren't actually my parents...' the girl absentmindedly walked forward without realizing the predicament she just put herself into, a heavy-duty truck was speeding towards her, the truck driver not noticing her because of her small height...

At this exact moment, no one except two people realized the predicament she was in, one was her adoptive mother who managed to somehow catch up to her sweating all over and a 'NEET' who went outside unusually, his computer deciding to break down for some inexplicable reason on this particular day, at that particular moment, planting him right here for some inexplicable reason, giving him a 'hint' to look towards a particular direction, almost like 'something' was guiding the whole process ;)

"ALIC- HEY, Watch out!" The 'mother' horrified scream was m.u.f.fled by a somewhat terrifying yet somewhat gentle roar

The 'mother' stared wide eyed as she saw someone appear out of nowhere with inhuman speed next to her daughter jumping and pus.h.i.+ng her out of the way... with a somewhat, uhm, creepy smi- no I mean a very 'heroic'-like smile... yes... heroic...

-Alice's POV-

As she was absentmindedly walking and thinking about what she just found out about her parents she was pulled out of her thoughts by a sudden pus.h.i.+ng force, yet for some reason 'So gentle' she thought in that moment, next the roar she just heard registered and she looked towards the figure who just pushed her as if time has just stopped for a moment, she saw... a somewhat... weird smiling oni-san who was... about to be hit by a truck?!

'W-What, wait-!' as she was about to digest the situation in that weird seemingly stopped in time moment... she felt it, the feeling she always thought as "something missing" when looking at her parents... indeed, she felt 'family, he's family' she thought, no, she felt as such

'So he's my fami- wait! That's not the time for this, he's about to be hit by a truck!' as unbridled panic showed in her eyes as a certain prot *ahem* individual thought 'So cute, she looks cute when panicking' and smiled at her... before being sent dozens of meters rolling on the street with his limbs twisted in weird directions and an impressive amount of blood splattering everywhere...
