Darwin wakes himself up during the middle of the night, covers in sweats. Stress fill up his eye. Looks like he hasn't had a good night sleep in a long time.

Darwin holds up a thin black notebook; after her sister's event, he has never left the notebook on the side, always keep his eye on the notebook. Like the notebook is his sister. He looks up at the empty room, feeling suffocated. Darwin walked out to the balcony. With his bloodshot eyes, overlooking the city. The world seems colorless and cold, with no love or hope. He gazes down on the notebook, though his mind flew somewhere happy still happens.

It was Darwin's house backyard, it is a garden. His parent loves plants, especially flowers.

" Darwin! get me that b.u.t.terfly! " a little girl with a big smile on her face, chasing after a b.u.t.terfly.

" How many time I have to tell you! Ann! don't call my name like this! I'm older than you " right after the little girl, there was a little boy, cover in sweats, running slowly but keeps a consistent distance with the little girl. He doesn't seem to enjoy the run very much.

He regrets it. He regrets the fact he didn't enjoy the moment he has with Ann.

He went crazy, looking for books that can translate the meaning of the notebook that can grant a chance to rescue his sister.

It is like the notebook is a G.o.d of misfortune; after his sister was pulled into the notebook, everything around him goes bad. He went back to the antique store where he bought the book, tried to find ones like that, spend all his parents' heritage to search for knowledge of the unknown. Before he starts to realize that his parents' possessions are starting to disappear. He panics, asking his relatives for help. A place for him to stay, a meal for him to eat.

As old saying: "Fakes will reveal when doom arrives."

The relatives that use to mooch from his parent are starting to reveal their true faces. Bunch of devils, fakes, monsters. When they know Darwin is in harsh conditions, they didn't hesitate to insult him even more. Rejected his beg, stole whatever is left.

He didn't cry, it's hard for a little boy. Suppose to enjoy the short time of happiness, has to suffer; it is not easy for him, but he made it through. He found a dictionary that was the same time period as the notebook. But he couldn't have it because he doesn't have anything that is valuable enough to exchange.

So he returns to one of his relatives to accept an offer.

He became a slave.

He worked 23 hours a day, only allow to sleep when he is sick. Only 1 meal a day; no shelter to sleep in. It is h.e.l.l for him, surprisingly he did not give up, he was able to get his hand on a dictionary. The price was an experiment on him; the relative was a doctor of neurology, he wanted to do an experiment on a human being to prove his theory. During the experiment, Darwin lost his sense of touch, that means he will able to feel anything through touching, no pain, no feel.

Hard work pays off, he finally understands the language that written in the notebook. The ancient notebook was from a scientist that once studies artificial intelligent and was able to create a life form that owns higher intelligence than human and able to react to a human's daily basic needs. However, the scientist and his team were afraid that if the A.I overrun the human, then it would be a chaos. Therefore the scientist built the A.I in a form that would help to answer questions from human and not hurt human in any way. Unfortunately, as time goes by, old society corrupt, new ones rise, more and more new intelligent develops; the old technology had been abandoned by the human. It became a new life form that considers itself to be more superior than human and all. It feeds on 'Desire'.

" Desire is what makes human, human. It is the feeling of all feelings. It is the reason for all actions. It is the key for all locks. "

He found what 'Desire' the notebook wants. It wants to be, human. Darwin offered to become its servant, in return … free his sister.

He became 'Kami' – he became heartless, he became emotionless, he became alone. He is afraid to lose, someone he loves so much to leave his life without warning.

His sight elevates from the ground to a neon lighted sign. It is a bar where adult goes for fun, after a long exhausting day.

Levi likes s.e.x more than anything, he considers it as a full meal, From appetizer to deserts. His first encounter was in high school, where he goes to parties and accidentally meet a woman that introduced him to the pleasure of the body. As times goes by, his body starts to get worse and worse. Doctors tell him to stop such absurd action. He doesn't listen, he is like an addict that can't give up drugs.

He is no different than other ordinary people, he works, he socializes; but once he is not doing such, he will go and meet new women that agree with him to have s.e.x. He is not an evil guy that will force a lady to do what he wants, he asks with a gentle tone and continues with delightful conversations to follow up the mood. A typical French gentleman.

Tonight is Friday, which mean no work for him tomorrow; so he can have a night of relaxing and not to worry about being late to work.

He arrives at his favorite bar in Loire Valley. It's named 'Love, evoL', a really weird name. sounds like love and evil. What an irony! Levi sometime thinks to himself. He went straight to the bar counter. Called himself a drink, 's.e.x on the Beach', and enjoy the night. He glanced at his 4 O'clock direction. He saw a beautiful woman; no words can describe the beauty of this woman, he can't help but fantasize how he can go and talk to this beautiful young lady…
