And then she would wake up again and try to live again that Lares would have spared them, that some force would have made him protect them. With that wish she would try to live again. She would wash and feed and pa.s.s time. And then again the night would come with its arrogance.

Such a gruesome cycle carried itself for her for a fortnight until he came back.
