Blue Screen Blues 8 Chapter 8: "The Downfall Of Us All"

When the Shade Rises up behind them Ryan doesn't notice it immediately.

he is still making out with Zephyr, and the pleasure she's giving him as she gently bites the side of his neck is too distracting.

Out of nowhere a Scythe blade comes slicing through where Ryan's Head would have been if he was still kissing her. Alerted and being nimble Zephyr rolls over the right and Blocks the rest of the momentum of the Blade with her Black Leather Arm guards. The blade leaves a Small cut in her armor, but it just saved her arm from harm.

Ryan is laying on his back and is Trying to figure out what just happened. He notices the Shade and its weapon that is wedged into Zephyrs Armguards.

He is Terrified. He's never seen anything like this in his life. Sure, seeing one from behind a Screen of a video game, or a movie screen is scary, but he's not behind a screen. Death is looking at him right in the face. He has a panic attack for a second, and suddenly a Quest appears in his head.

"Survive the night"

Zephyr sees this things Blade stuck in her arm and she reacts quick. She uses [Disarm] on it and grabs the weapon from the shade's arms.

She throws it down behind Ryan and draws her daggers.

Then he realized its near the wood line on the other side of the City. He can't help her.

She jumps up and tries to stab the thing but no affect. He's just a Dark thick mist.

When she realizes her blade goes right through this thing, she is a little bit alarmed.

"s.h.i.+t this thing isn't Vulnerable to physical attacks!" She shouts as she lands on the seawall.

"Get the h.e.l.l away from it then!" Ryan shouts.

"I hate this Motherf.u.c.king c.o.c.k blocker!" She screams and she runs past the Shade.

As she runs past it, she notices a Skull with glowing red eyes inside the body of this Demonic ghost.

She turns around and Growls. In a fit of rage, she reaches her hand into the shadowy apparition and grabs the skull and yanks it out.

"Alas, you ungrateful bustard. h.e.l.l, hath no fury like the Rage of this p.i.s.sed off b.i.t.c.h" She said while holding the skull and looking into its red glowing eyes. The Skull just smiles at her and She throws it down and starts Stomping on it.

"Ryan grab his weapon!" She shouts at him. Not asking questions Ryan picks up the scythe and brings it to her.

"Beat him with his own weapon!" She screams. Ryan Awkwardly starts beating the skull with its own weapon. The body of the shade is in agony and is moving around erratically with each hit. Zephyr keeps kicking the thing and Ryan keeps smas.h.i.+ng it. Ryan goes for one hard slam and shatters the skull.

The Soul of the shade then disappears. And the weapon Ryan is holding disappears as well.

Ryan and Zephyr catch their breath.

"What the f.u.c.k was that thing?" He screamed.

"A Shade. It's the Remnants of an Escaped tortured soul from h.e.l.l." She replied to him.

"I don't have my sword with me, we need to go get it" he tells her in distress.

Around them it's Completely dark. The only light they have is dim radiant light coming of the city's Barrier.

"I can't see s.h.i.+t!" He screams while turning away from the city.

Zephyr just laughs. She grabs his hand pulls him along back to the Woodline.

Zephyr being part cat also grants her night vision. She can see really well compared to ryan who cant see anything except her outline.

Zephyr sees the world in an Indigo Color at night. With everything in the background either a Greyish a blackish outline with super good contrast.

Ryan can't see anything and shes pulling him blindingly into the dark.

"Remember at the Inn when you said you will follow me into the unknown" She asks him as they walk through high gra.s.s.

"Yes, I do" he replies.

"Well I promise you I won't leave your side" She tells him.

They keep walking through the gra.s.s and suddenly Zephyr stops. She hears something.

She scans around her. She can't see anything around her. Her ears hear something swinging toward her.

She looks up and sees another shade floating above her who's swinging its scythe down at her. She pushes Ryan away and Dodges the attack. She uses [Disarm] on the shade and steals its scythe from its arms.

Ryan can't see anything, but he hears her in distress.

She throws the scythe at Ryan's feet and he can hear it land but can't see it.

Annoyed Ryan takes out his phone. He taps the screen and uses the ambient light to find the scythe. He drops his phone on top of the pole of the weapon.

He picks up the Scythe and then his phone. Unaware his phone is in Photo mode he taps the screen to keep the light on. Doing this causes the phone to take a bright flash picture.

He ends up taking a partially perfect picture of her ripping the skull out of its body.

The Then he notices it screaming.

He uses the ambient light find where the shade and Zephyr is and noticed a portion of the Shades body is missing.

Ryan puts two and two together. These things are weak against Bright light.

Ryan calls out for zephyr and wants to know where she is.

He gets her direction and drops the scythe.

"Zephyr cover your eyes!" he screams.

"Why" she asks in process of banging the skull against a rock.

Ryan takes a picture of her and the flash illuminates the gra.s.s for a little bit.

Suddenly an outline of the shade bursts into sparks in the dark.

The scythe, and the skull disappear.

Zephyr covers her eyes in pain and starts tearing up a little bit. Her night vison mode can't take sudden flashes like that.

"Oh my G.o.d that Hurts!" She screams while blindly feeling around the air" Ryan puts on his phones flashlight mode and searches for her. He sees her and tries to keep the light out of her eyes. He runs to her and picks her up.

"I think I found these things weakness" He tells her.

"You found my weakness too!" She shouts while covering the LED bulb of the phone.

They catch their breath and Ryan notices his sword nearby. He picks it up and slides the Sheath strap over his shoulder.

Zephyr regains her vison and has a sudden mood change. She sees him and grabs his crotch out of random.

Ryan smacks her hand.

"That is not yours Don't touch! He tells her in an annoyed tone.

"We're all alone in the dark, where no one can hear you scream baby!" She said in a Flirty tone.

"Please no dark jokes right now" he tells her with a Giggle.

"Fine" Zephyr said while grabbing his hand and pulling him back to the city. Halfway there through the gra.s.s Zephyr hears something again. She ducks down as soon another scythe comes flying in her face.

She uses [Disarm] on it and Ryan picks up on the scythe landing at his feet again.

"Cover your eyes!" He shouts at her. She dives down to the ground and Ryan s.h.i.+nes his light on the shade.

The thing screams but doesn't disappear. He keeps his light on it and it just sits there screaming in pain.

"Why isn't it working!" he screamed trying to figure out this puzzling question.

Just then he remembers he took that other one on "Picture mode". He brings up his camera and takes a picture of the Shade and the flash disintegrates it.

"I wonder why the h.e.l.l it only works on camera mode?" He said out loud to himself.

Just then he remembers why he has this phone. He asked to enchant the phone with unlimited storage for pictures or whatever he wants to put on it. Then he remembers something about "saving it to the void".

"Oh, I see now, says the blind man" Ryan said with a laugh.

"Nice pun" Zephyr replies.

The pictures are sending theses things to the void.

Zephyr grabs his hand keeps leading him through the dark back to the city's walls. Suddenly Ryan sees a blue flash in his eyes. He just leveled up to level 6.

They run all the way back to the seawall and take a quick rest against it.

"This thing is the key to defeating these unholy ghosts" He tells her while leaning on her.

She just smiles and rubs his leg.

Suddenly a whole h.o.a.rd of Shades come out of the water. Zephyr gets alerted and sees them coming to them.

There was at least 30 of them floating in the air above the water making their way to them.

Ryan grabs his phone and Takes a Picture of what he thinks is the outline of them.

One picture made 10 of them burst into flames.

"I can't see them as well as you can, can you take the pictures?" he asks her while handing her the phone.

"I don't know how to use it!" she tells him in a disturbed tone.

"You're a Girl this should come naturally!"

"Just point it at what you want to take a picture of and tap the screen once, Theres a little circle on the bottom of the screen you just tap"

He tells her while guiding her hands. He guides her thumb on the picture b.u.t.ton on the screen and she takes a picture. About 5 of them go down.

"Oh, I see!" She said while aiming the phone toward the rest of the shades.

"You should, I mean your part cat" he said in a jokily manner.

She takes another picture on her own and takes out some more. She gets the hang of this and takes out the others in 4 more pictures.

With Sparks falling into the water, this is kind of an awesome scene in complete darkness.

Zephyr then sees 300 more Shades coming in from the woods. They look p.i.s.sed off.

"We got a s.h.i.+t load more coming to us!" She screams.

"Just take pictures. this is an easy fight. Take pictures, and level up your Instagram account" He told her while sitting on the ground watching over the seawall.

"Whats Instagram?" She asked while taking another picture.

"It's a place you should never go" He said with a laugh.

Zephyr grabs him and hugs him while taking more pictures and bringing down 50 shades at one.

She Puts the phone out in front of her and turns it around. She hugs Ryan and closes her eyes and takes a picture. Behind them 70 more shades disappear and burst into sparks.

"Oh G.o.d! Shes learned how to selfie!" He shouts inside his head.

Zephyr then accidently slides her figure across the screen and makes the camera switch to front facing mode.

She sees herself in the screen and freaks out.

"Honey, I may have broken your phone!" she said in a guilty voice.

Ryan hops up in a swift motion. Those are words you NEVER want to hear from a girl.

He looks at the phone and notices its just in selfie mode.

"Your fine its just switched to a different camera." He explains to her.

"Oh, alright" she said while getting behind him and throwing her arms around him.

She holds the phone out in front of them and she takes a picture of both of them together without the flash blinding her. The Shades behind them burst into flames.

"Oh G.o.d shes already turning into one of THEM!" He screams inside his head.

She takes another cute selfie with Ryan and more shades Burst into flames.

Ryan turns around and laughs at the sparks in the air.

"Death by selfie a.s.sholes!" He screamed.

Suddenly he can hear the remaining of them screeching and charging at a faster pace.

"What is going on? She asks as they start to speed up their advance on them.

"I'm going to a.s.sume they are p.i.s.sed off" Ryan said calmly.

"Why what did I do?" she asks.

"I a.s.sume they know their Vessel back to h.e.l.l and d.a.m.nation lies in the hands of a newly created Crazy selfie taking b.i.t.c.h" He tells her with a hint of laughter.

She kiss's Ryan and holds the phone out and takes more pictures. She keeps changing her pose. Shes defiantly becoming "one of them" he thinks to himself.

More and more shades start blowing up and when there are 20 shades left charging at them with their Scythe drawn and screaming.

Ryan smiles at the monster he just created.

He takes his phone and bites her neck in a s.e.xy way and takes the last selfie. The remaining shades burst into sparks and they come down to the ground making out again.

"Why is this so exciting?" Ryan wonders

Suddenly the ground underneath their feet rumbles and shakes. A boney arm arises from the ground and grabs Ryan's leg.

Zephier's eyes glow bright blue. She just leveled up a whole entire level by only taking selfies.

Ryan's very jealous of this ironic situation.
