Lucky Unluckiest 20 Chapter Twenty

On our way to the park she poked my arm and said, " umm... what if I want to go somewhere else?" I turned to her facing eye to eye and asked her where'd she want to go and she replied with 'anything but here.'

I nodded.

"You decide." I told her.

She took a while looking here and there and bit her lower lip

"Is there a movie theatre somewhere near?"

"Yeah there is, you want to watch a movie?"

She nodded.

"Alright then."

We took the cab to the nearest movie theatre.

"Which movie do you want to watch?" She asked me.

" I don't know; let's see once we get there."

"Alright then. We are here, which one?" I asked her once we arrived.

"I don't know, you choose."

"Girl I am fine with anything..... Why don't we watch something humorous since you look down?" I recommended.

"Hmm right." She replied nodding.

We chose an animated movie named, 'Ferdinand.'

"You know what; I've been waiting for this movie to come out." She looked at me with her sparkly eyes.

"You know about this movie?" I asked her since I had no idea what that movie was about.

"Wait, you don't!?" Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. Literally.

I was about to open my mouth to say something but then she cuts me, "You don't watch animated movies?"

"Umm... I do but I prefer watching studio Ghibli's movies."I replied holding popcorns in my hand. "What's that?" She made a weird face like I said something in another language, wait Studio Ghibli is j.a.panese. "You don't know Studio Ghibli!?" Oh G.o.d I was so shocked that she doesn't watch Ghibli movies like come on they are my favourite. She shook her head and looked at me like I was an alien from another planet.

"Then make sure you watch some " I said smiling.

She nodded her head but I know she won't even remember the name. "The movie is about to start, let's go in" She said taking the beverages from my hand and moving before me. We sat down in the front row. She pa.s.sed me my drink and I held the popcorns in between us so both of us can easily eat.

In between the movies I could hear Sophia laughing and it was like music to my ears. Strangely, I liked it. I tried my best to not to look at her but I failed to do so as I stared her captivating laugh.

After a moment when I came to my senses, I realized that I've been staring her for too long now but I couldn't help it. I removed my gaze from her and continued watching the movie. Luckily she didn't see me staring at her. After when the movie ended, we stood up and walked our way out. I looked at my watch and it was already 8:45 pm.

"Do you want to eat something?" I asked Sophia.

"No, I ate almost all the popcorns and I am full." She said it with a smile.

"Let's go then." I said and she nodded.

She told me that she preferred walking till my home and from there we could take a cab so I did as she wanted.

"Heyy! What's that!?" She startled me out of nowhere, pointing at a bridge.

"A bridge?" I responded, confused and she laughed. "Let's go there." She said and ran towards it like a little kid running after a balloon and I walked behind her with my hands on my pockets. She took a deep, deep breath as she touched the railings of the bridge and I copied her.

"Thank you." She said, out of nowhere, again, startling me. "For what?" I asked.

After a moment of silence, she said, "I was just so upset today."

"I noticed." I replied while we both were looking at the s.h.i.+mmering river below us. There was again, a long silence, like we both we quietly feeling the beauty of nature.

"It was his birthday." She said, so quietly that it was barely audible but I could feel her voice trembling. I opened my mouth to say something but instead she continued, "My brother, my only brother." Now I could literally feel the pain in her voice as I saw her lips trembling.

I didn't know what to say so I was staring her blankly.

SOPHIA

I couldn't keep these emotions inside of me any longer so I let it all out.

Crying like a child.

I felt so embarra.s.sed but I couldn't help it, the tears were flowing down my cheeks like a river and I didn't dare show my face to Logan. "C-can we go home?" I managed to say.

And then out of nowhere I felt someone grabbing my arms gently and pulling me into a hug. A warm embrace. I inhaled. I wanted to push him away but I didn't have the energy to do so. My heart was beating so fast and my brain was a mess, then I suddenly felt him patting my head, throwing all the unwanted feelings away and giving me comfort. Real comfort. I couldn't understand why he did that but-

"I understand." He whispered.

"It's difficult to lose someone you love." He added.

The words he said weren't anything special but it was what I wanted to hear. And the comfort he gave me was all I needed. It really felt that he understood me, maybe he'd been there too. Thinking about that maybe he'd been there, thoughts started to mix up in my mind. Like,

Why did he say that he understands me? Has he really been there? What has he lost? Who has he lost? Sister? Mother? Father? I wonder.

"It's alright Sophia." He kept patting my head gently. "You're a strong one." He whispered.

And my heart skipped a beat. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I got a whiff of the cologne he was wearing and I slowly exhaled. After a few minutes I let go of him and stare at the sky. He did the same. "Feeling any better?" He asked after a minute.

I nodded.

There was a silence between us.

"The nature sure is beautiful, isn't it? I said, trying to get on another topic.

"Hmm." He answered, uninterested.

I was surprised by his 'hmm'

That's right; he always looks like he isn't the outgoing type. I don't know him much but I've never seen him appreciating himself. I've grown more curious of him as he tends to hide himself from the world. I really wish to know what made him like this.

Some people are so easy to read like open books but he is so not one of them.

Why is he like this? What made him like this? Why isn't he close with anyone? Why haven't I seen him with anyone but liam? Has anything happened in the past that made him the way he is now? Why isn't he like a twenty year old should be? I hope it's not something too bad. These thoughts keep running through my mind. I wish to know about his past.

I am a real pain in a.s.s.

I moved my eyes to him while he was quietly watching the view. He is so breathtaking. Maybe he doesn't see it but I think he deserves so much better than he think he deserves. He's everything a person could ever wish for. I wish I could tell him how beautiful is he and how lovable he actually is. I smiled automatically looking at him.

"Hey, don't stare for too long. You'll regret falling for me. "He smirked as he held the railings of the bridge.

My eyes popped out from realization that I've been staring him for so long.

"Wh- Wh WHAT!? I AM NOT GONNA FALL FOR YOU! "I defended myself. My heart was throbbing so swiftly that I was afraid it might come out of my chest.

He laughed.

He laughed as he put his hands in his pockets.

Once again, without realizing, I was lost in his laugh. His wonderful laugh that made me forgot about everything else, everything else for a moment but him. It's so captivating. I wonder how many people have seen this side of him. I mean, just look at him, how alluring he looks. How ravis.h.i.+ng he is.

I am going crazy.

He turned to me and leaned a little closer to my face and stared me.

My eyes widened.

"Come on, I'll walk you home. "He said taking his hands out and messing up my hair.

And my heart.

My heart was once again trying its best to come out and my cheeks were burning red from embarra.s.sment and I don't know what.
