"Hi!" Aiden greeted her. As he walked inside, he froze in his spot when he saw the kitchen and coughed profusely. "Uhm... Are you sure you were 'just' cooking?" He asked awkwardly. Emily rubbed the back of her head," Uh… Almost!"

Soon enough, after half an hour of vigorous rubbing, scrubbing and cleaning, the kitchen was spick and span, just like brand new- kind of. They both stood at the entrance, admiring their hard work. They then dragged their feet towards the lounge and slumped on the sofa, exhaling deeply. "Thanks Aiden!" said Emily, trying to put up a sincere smile and suppressing her fatigue. Aiden shook his head lightly, "Oh no, it's nothing! Just helping a friend in need."

They chatted for quite a while, when Emily suddenly remembered that Chris was still not home. She felt her blood boiling.

That traitor did not even call back to ask about his sick mother! Un-filial nincomp.o.o.p!

There was nothing she could do right now. Oh yes, there was in fact another unfinished business to be completed. Giving Aiden an art lecture… "Aiden, since you are here, why don't we be productive! How about I give you the 'art' lesson that I promised!" Emily asked enthusiastically. Similarly, Aiden was also quite happy with the idea.

They went to Emily's room and she started to take out variously sized and types of boxes of paints, brushes, palettes and sheets. Seeing all this stuff started to make Aiden dizzy. What type of hobby did I choose?! He thought to himself, complaining.

Emily started off by introducing him the art supplies. She talked about the enormous types of paints, including oil paints, acrylic paints, water paints and how one differs from the other.

Then, about how to pick up a good quality paint, how to properly use and store them. Then she gave a detailed lecture of the variety of brushed, when to use which kind, how to use them and how to properly clean and store after usage. Next up, she guided him about the brush strokes, how and when to apply them.

She then taught him about mixing colors, how much water to use in water paints and different surfaces on which one can paint, which includes paper, canvas, rocks, wood etc. Coming to the topic of paper, she explained how to choose quality paper for painting.

Next were the different forms of art, from western to eastern styles. Each and every aspect of art was explained with great detail and with examples by Emily. Aiden's mind was about to explode from all this information he was desperately trying to squeeze into his mind.

Just in case, if he ever forgot, he was quickly taking notes on the plain white sheets, which were scattered around the room. Finally, when Emily's throat was dried up after one and a half hour, he stopped scribbling and glanced at the pile of notes he wrote. His hands were on the verge of breaking.

Wow, she's a genius.

While Aiden was silently praising her, Emily was asking him whether he understood or not, whether he had any questions regarding her lesson. But he seemed to be in deep thoughts. She got worried that he was day dreaming the entire time, so she knocked his head like a door. "Hel-lo? Anyone home?" She laughed.

Aiden snapped back into reality and waved his notes in front of her eyes. "Yup! Everything captured. Mission accomplished." He said beaming but his happiness was instantly converted into anxiousness by Emily's next question.

"You won't be an expert just like that, listening and writing the information. Aren't you going to practically apply them as well?"

Aiden ma.s.saged his temples. "Ugh… I just think this information is enough for now. I won't be having enough time to practice all this anyways. How about in winter holidays we continue?"

Emily shrugged, "As you wis.h.!.+"

Finally, both of them tidied up the room and went downstairs to prepare tea for themselves and Emily's mom, only to find Chris reclining lazily on the sofa, munching on a bag of chips from one hand, while the other hand grabbing the television controller and aimlessly changing the channel from one to another.

Emily gritted her teeth. Stormed off behind his sofa and slapped his head.

PAH!

"Ouch! What the h.e.l.l, Emily?" Chris moaned in pain. Emily ignored him and prepared English tea for everyone. She left Chris's cup on the counter and went to Alicia's room, holding the tray. Aiden also followed her. He greeted her mom and asked about her heath. It was a lively atmosphere in the room, the three of them gossiping and sipping their tea.

Alicia was feeling way better after taking the soup and having some rest.

After a while, Aiden's cell started to ring. He excused them, saying good bye and leaving the house.

Soon afterwards, the doorbell rand and Emily welcomed his father. She informed him about her mom's health and he quickly entered the room and greeted her. Since Harvey was home, Alicia called in Chris, who was snoring on the sofa.

Oh great. He is in trouble. Emily sneered.
