Ingrid felt frightened at his suggestion and tried to disagree with him.

"I am afraid that he won't understand it, I think it's not yet the time. He is too young to understand things." She slightly protested. "And what if... what if the child will be taken away from me?"

"Oh no, no, don't think like that, no one's gonna take Clark away from you, I promise that in my best capacity that he will stick beside you and to all the people he loved. I promise to protect you and Clark." But then he paused and heaved a long sigh preparing how to give her something to think about. So he continued to speak gently.

"Why would you do that?" Ingrid's brows furrowed. But Clifford evaded her gaze.

"Listen to me, Ingrid. I will speak only from my own experience. You know that I grew up relying only to the love my mother gives. But I am not complaining about it, because she has lavished me with so much love and care that no one can give me. Yet, there was still lacking in my life, that is, a father's love. "Clark said that?" Clifford nodded.

"If you should decide to go to the fertility clinic, I am willing to accompany you. I need some information from Dr. Samantha, too." Ingrid could not speak.

"Information about what?" she curiously asked.

"Haven't I told you that we met on the first day I was in Maldives?"
