"Should I have to answer it now? Or should I think over first at least? I really can't decide now..." hesitation could be heard in her voice

Ingrid has never been so hasty in her entire life except with her emotions because she has been a victim of her emotions which comes and goes and she firmly believes that a double minded person is unstable in all his or her ways. She doesn't want to decide now that she'll regret again later. After what happened to her, she will no longer take risks as she did before.

On the other hand, Clifford antic.i.p.ated this would happen, but he did try to convince her and somehow he feared that something might happen to her and Clark and they're still not under his protection.

"Well, you're right, I've become hasty." He sighed and mumbled to himself. "...oohh, the things we do for love..." which she not clearly heard.

"Did you say something?"

"Oh, nothing really. As they say love is patient so I'll just wait for you..." He said grinning and he took back the ring and then put it in the box.

But Ingrid stopped him by holding his hands, staring straight to his eyes, she said, "Wait... I have proposition," Clifford came alive again the moment he heard her.

"Hmmm... what will that be?"

Ingrid pulled away her hands while Clifford put the box back to the pocket of his suit jacket.

"It's like this. You'll know my answer on the day of Clark's school event." She smiled to a.s.sure him about her proposition. The man's eyes narrowed as he looked at Ingrid.

"On Clark's event? But how?" he's puzzled.

"Well, if I'll wear that ring on that day, it means it's a YES, I'll marry you. But, if not, you have to wait until our agreement expires and then we get married just like we had agreed."

"That's... that's thrilling but at the same time chilling... honestly, sometimes, I really can't predict what's in that beautiful mind of yours, my sweet..." Clifford could only shook his head out of amazement and smiled.

Ingrid laughed in response. "We're both in the business world Cliff, and you know that if we'll both be hasty we'll surely miss the way." He thought about what Ingrid said and nodded in agreement.

"I guess you have a point..." he took back the box from his pocket and gave it to Ingrid. "Here, take this, how I pray that you'll say yes that day and right now I feel so excited for that day to come. I'm looking forward to it." he winked at her

Ingrid took it from him and just smiled. "So, where to go?" Clifford asked.

"My home..." she answered.

"Ahh home... I miss Clark..."

Gary was checking some news on the internet when out of the blue. A picture of a man kissing a woman in public suddenly appeared with a caption:

A WELL KNOWN CEO OF THE BIGGEST COMPANY IN THE COUNTRY SPOTTED KISSING AN HEIRESS IN PUBLIC.

Both of their faces were blurred but as he looked closely, the phone fell from his hands.

"It's.... it's..." all of a sudden his phone rings. Gary took it and coughed as he stared at the name of the caller.

MASTER CLINT.

"Why do you always call me every time I read an article regarding your son? Did you put some hidden device on my phone?" Gary grumbled to himself before he answered the call.

"Good day, master Clint..."

"Gary, I called because I want to know about the press conference, when will it be?" Gary wanted to faint. He thought it was already forgotten. Though, it's already prepared, but he wished that it won't take place because he's so pressured every press conference.

"It's already prepared, but we need a confirmation first from you, Master, regarding the schedule and the press allowed."

"I change my mind Gary. Cancel it." Gary felt so relieved.

"Ahh yes, master. Right away.."

"But, we'll do an exclusive interview with the renown international talk show." The man laughed heartily. "...it will be Ingrid and Clifford's exclusive interview. I don't like press conference because they'll just twist all the facts."

Gary became mute.

"Gary, are you listening? Are you still there?"

"Ye-yeah, master, I'm still here."

"Good... tell Clifford to come over and we'll discuss it." the old man was about to hang up but Gary stopped him.

"Master, I read another unpleasant article..."

"What article?"

"It's about the young master and Vanessa Reiley,"

"Vanessa Reiley, the new business partner? What's that article all about? If it's nonsense, disregard it or better yet, take it down."

"It's... uhm but I'm not really sure if it's them because it's just a blind item..."

"Blind item? Goodness Gary! Are you now fond of s...o...b..z and that you now read such articles?"

"But–" Gary wanted to say something but the old man blocked him.

"It's a waste of time. Ignore such articles. Just focus on the exclusive interview, I'll send the details later. Bye!"
