As they, Tristan and Clark, led the perpetrators to the stock room. Clark's mind was already planning on how to escape as he stubbornly wiped his tears that ceaselessly fell of its own accord so that he could think clearly. His young mind remembers the spy movies he used to watched and get some ideas on how to escape. His mom doesn't allow him to watch such movies but he'd sneak out to watch it.

When he heard that they won't let them go, he decided to just follow them and obey the perpetrators and didn't utter any word that may irritate the two. One of them stared at Clark irritably and in the act of hitting Clark's head with his hands but his partner stopped him.

"Hey! Boss said that we shouldn't hurt him." After that they locked the stock room and left.

"Clark, I-I'm scared.. w-what are we gonna do? How can we g-get out of here?" Tristan said between his sobs.

"Let's find that small opening we used to enter here when we want to hide from our cla.s.smates to fool them. I hope the staff hasn't repaired it yet."

Suddenly Tristan stopped crying and his eyes lit up. "Oh yeah, I remember it now!" he ran to the hidden part of the room and knocked the thin wall and found the small hole.

"It's still here Clark! Yaayy!!" little by little he opened it, stuck up his head outside to scan the area if the perpetrators are still around. Upon seeing that they're no longer there, he got out. "Clark, come on! Hurry! Let's go!"

The boys ran as fast as they can so that they could report what happened to Clifford and Ingrid. Half way through, they saw the two men walk back to the stock room, they hold their breaths and froze for seconds and tiptoed as they try to hide at the bush. When the men were far from them, they continue to run. Upon reaching the area, the searched for Ingrid and Clifford, but only Ingrid was around.

"MOMMY!!!" Clark's voice echoed as he run towards his mom who was seated in one of the benches.

"Clark, what happened to you? Why are you so dirty? Where's your father?" She looked at Clark and Tristan and was puzzled at their messy figure. Then Clark quietly cries then Tristan cried too.

But the two boys didn't answer her but just cried and cried. So she called Clifford again. Clifford answered the phone after three rings.

"Ingrid..." Clifford's voice sound nervous.

"Where did you go exactly? Why Clark and Tristan are already here? I thought – " Ingrid could not finish her sentence because Clifford interrupted her.

"Whaaattt????" his voice thundered.

"What do you mean, whaaaat? They are both crying now and wouldn't seem to stop. What the h.e.l.l happened exactly, Clifford Briggs?! Explain it! Now!"

"Okay, wait for me there. I'll explain it after I fix something here first." Ingrid hangs up the call and then she changed the s.h.i.+rts of the boys and calmed them.

She's dying to know what happened to them but she couldn't force them to talk unless they're calm. After they're refreshed, they no longer cry but only have hiccups.

"Son, do you feel better now? How about you, Tristan? Just tell me what happened if you're ready to talk about it..." she calmly said. She wanted to cry upon seeing her son's puffy eyes.

The two boys looked at each other and their countenance fell and in the act to cry again.

"Okay, okay, I won't insist.. Hush now baby..." she kissed and hugged the two boys to calm them.

Teacher Mei suddenly went to them to ask where Mr. Briggs is but upon seeing the children's puffy eyes, she is puzzled.

"Excuse me, Miss Howard, may I ask where's – What happeneds to you two? Those aren't happy tears, did you have a fight? Sorry to interrupt Miss Howard, but I haven't seen them this like this."

"I'm puzzled as well, Teacher Mei. I'm still waiting for Clifford to arrive to have a better explaining what happened to these two."

Within minutes, Clifford came into view, his brows are creased and his countenance is cold. As he walk pa.s.s the people, they felt his cold aura which makes them step back and make way for him.

Ingrid started to worry as she looked at Clifford's handsome face, while Teacher Mei started to feel nervous as Clifford neared them.

"Ingrid, get the kids out of here. Teacher Mei, I wanna talk to the owner of this school now!" Clifford transformed into a cold and domineering CEO, that whoever wanted to disobey his command will be punished without mercy, far from the loving father and lover he showed earlier.

"Okay, but please tell me the reason first," Ingrid bravely asked.

"Two men wanted to harm Clark and Tristan." upon hearing it Teacher scurry away to inform the head of the school.

"OH MY G.o.d!" Ingrid almost screamed, she covered her mouth and her eyes widen in shock.

The people who heard Ingrid's voice are intrigued and would like to eavesdrop because they thought that Ingrid and Clifford are quarrelling. Without delay, she called the driver to fetch them instantly but Clifford stopped her and he called his driver instead.

Ingrid did not object his suggestion but follow his order. She looked at Clifford's with so much fear and confusion in her eyes.

"But I'm afraid, what if they're still out there, waiting. I don't wanna go away without you, Cliff, I fear for the kids' life. I feel safer when you're around."
