The butler trembled in fear, while Clint feels dizzy and feels that his left torso tightens. Clint squeezes his chest and he closed his eyes because of the pain he's feeling.

"Master!" the butler yelps. "Come on! a.s.sist Master Clint. Hurry! And you…" he pointed the maid. "…call Secretary Gary, this instance!"

Helen went outside the room was shock on what she's seeing. She hurriedly went to her husband's side and a.s.sisted him back to their room.

"What is happening Butler Leo?!"

The butler hesitated to tell her the news because he feared that she may suffer too.

"TELL ME OR I'LL FIRE YOU!" the woman threatened.

"Mmadaam, the you-young mmaster and you-young madam are in the hospital now and we needed to be there as soon as possible."

Helen is horrified. "Oh G.o.d! Hospital?! What happened?" Helen becomes hysterical.

"Madam, please calm down…" the butler controlled his anxiety so that he could still serve his master in sound state knowing that both of them will be emotional because of the accident.

Helen a.s.sisted her husband to their room and decided to leave Clint to go to the hospital. She quickened her steps to reach the entrance of their mansion, ordered the driver to bring her to the hospital where Clifford and Ingrid are brought. They're about to leave but Clint appeared and stopped them and decided to go with them.

"Clint, no, please stay here. Clark needs one of us." Helen pleaded.

"No. I insist in coming with you. I cannot stay behind knowing that my son and daughter-in-law are in danger. Besides, I already instructed them to put Clark back to bed and no word should be revealed to him…"

Without delay, they left the mansion. Tears flow on Helen's cheeks as she silently prays for Clifford and Ingrid.

"Whoever did this will really pay for its worth!" Clint clenches his fists.

"Don't think about it just yet, Clint, all we should care about now is their safety." Helen sobs. "…oh Lord, please save them…" she said in between her bawl.

Upon arriving the hospital, plenty of news media are already there waiting for any official announcement from the family or the hospital of what happened. They swarmed to their side and ask them left and right questions.

Fortunately, Gary arrived ahead of them and already prepared for their security.

"Mr. Briggs can you say something about what happened? Can you confirm if this is purely vehicular accident or did someone tried to hurt them?" one of the news reporter shouted.

Clint suddenly brings himself to a halt and stared fiercely at the reporter. They thought that he'd say something but then he continued walking. The bodyguards tightened their safety measures.

"Mr. Briggs! Mr. Briggs! Mr. Briggs!? What's their condition now? Are they out of danger?" The news reporters were in uproar but they're all ignored.

They were already escorted with bodyguards so that they won't be bothered by the news media. When the Briggs finally entered the building, the security team of the hospital did not allow any of the reporters to cross the threshold. They check everyone who comes in, even the bags, suspecting that the reporters will disguise themselves and sneak in just to get some news scoop.

"Gary… where are they?" Helen instantly asks Gary upon seeing him.

"They are in the emergency room. Young master suffered injuries and bruises on the left side of his body while young madam is in critical condition… she lost consciousness." Gary declared.

"OH MY G.o.d…!!" Helen covered her mouth and is horrified of what she heard.

"According to the report, the car that hit them lost his control of the brake. He's in coma now. The police are still checking and rechecking what exactly happened through the CCTVs in that area…" Gary's countenance fell.

The Briggs couple sat down wearily on the benches. Clint rubs his nape then moving to his face. Out of nowhere, Clint spoke.

"Gary, form another private investigation on this matter. One of the reporters gave me the idea that this accident might not be just a mere car accident. Please make it discreet. Contract Vladimir immediately and should report to me within forty eight hours." Clint Briggs had this hunch that something is amiss.

Clint is caught in his thoughts. 'Is this in connection with the couple's declaration of their marriage earlier? Or is it connection with Ingrid's statement regarding that photo? Why on Ingrid's side alone?' Clint decided to add another instruction.

"Also, please investigate Miss Vanessa Reiley…" Gary is incredulous with his master's order. Nonetheless, he obeyed.

"Yes, Master Clint." He then dialled Vladimir's number and called.

"Mr. Vladimir, Master Clint needed you to investigate the accident… and Miss Vanessa Reiley…"

A loud laughter echoed in the four walls of a room. The room is dimly lit. The gaze of the mastermind to the couple on the screen during the interview was poisonous.

"You dare to joyfully announce your marriage publicly? Well, I need to cut it short… I couldn't accept it that you're happy while I'm still in agony of what you've done to me… Ingrid…" the mastermind touches the TV screen.

"Funny, but I now realize that I don't have to meticulously plan everything. All I need is a creative mind. And voila! It's a success. Brainless people! Haven't they notice that they obviously brought the two together more closer because of what they're doing...?"

Clifford felt numb all over his body and he tried to feel his surroundings. He heard some fast movements, clinking of some metals, a sound of some machine.

He slowly opened his eyes, but his eyes feel a stinging pain because of the bright lights.

"Where am I?" Clifford groaned. He narrowed his eyes and looked everywhere.

His eyes lay on the person lying next to him.

"Ingrid…."
