After settling everything in the hospital, they inaudibly left, without commotion. No press to pester them, nor onlookers who would be so happy to capture some juicy gossips to post online, but they were quite a scene to look at when they entered the parking area as they were surrounded by bodyguards and boarded on one of the black cars.

Good thing, though, that the hospital has parking lots for the VVVIPs and the witnesses of such sight were the elites or the drivers and bodyguards who were immune to such set-up.

Upon reaching the mansion, it seems that there is no one there, but when they opened up, they were surprise when lots of people are to greet them. The Briggs, her parents, her bestfriend Liane with her husband and daughter, and Lance.

"Oh, Ingrid, how I miss you," Liane rushed to her with tears in her eyes. Ingrid sobs silently upon seeing her best friend after such a long time.

"Liane…" ever since both of them settled down, they rarely see each other especially when she went back home in Vienna.

The two of them hugged each other and wept together and all the people just stared at them lovingly. They know how much these women miss each other because they have been inseparable ever since they have become best of friends.

They just stared at each other after they embraced and then laughed at each other's crimson colored faces.

"I'm so sorry, I wasn't able to come while you were in the hospital. I just knew about your condition days ago when I called you because I have no news about you for a long time and I was worried sick, but it was Clifford who answered me and he told me everything. I am such a bad best friend and a sister." She pouted and cried again.

"Oh no, no, don't feel that way, sis. Clifford was there always for me and besides, you already have your own family, I could not pester you to come over. And my, look… you have a very beautiful daughter…"

Then they have heard loud cries from the newborn twins. All of them gasp in surprise when they finally notice the two baby carriers both on Clifford's hands. All of them then rushed to their side to check the babies.

"Mommmmmmyyyyyy!!!!! I am here! Notice me please." Clark called out.

"Oh, my son!" she cried and then went to where he is standing, trying to hold back his tears. "I miss you so, so, so much. Please forgive mommy if I have not notice you outrightly…" Then Ingrid showered him with kisses on his face.

"I thought you already forgot about me because you already have twins." His face is so forlorn that it squeezed her heart looking at her son.

"No way! Mommy will never forget you, ever! You're my firstborn son and no one can replace you in my heart. You may have new siblings but you will still have my and your father's undivided attention. You understand me right?" Clark nodded only, holding his tears not to fall.

"Yes, me, too, son." Clifford pops in their conversation.

He left the twins to the care of their family members when he heard his son called his mommy's attention. His heart squeezed when he noticed that Clark did not come near them.

"Our time together will always be the same, son. We won't lessen it, I love you, son…" Clifford added.

"Yeah, me too. Daddy and I love you, you know that right?" Clark nodded and the three of them hugged each other, Clark in the middle.

"Oh, I thought you will not notice me at all. I am so sorry if I acted that way, mommy, daddy? I love you dad, I love you, mom!" The couple then looked each other lovingly and as if they know what their stares are all about.

They need to take a serious talk about their time with their son especially now that the twins are with them. Ingrid felt that she needs a time off from the corporate world and should just focus on their children for the meantime.

"Excuse me, masters and madams, may I have your attention please… Let's have a family picture of the family first with the newly added members of the family, young master Edric and young miss Avyanna, then altogether after. Sumptuous lunch will be served in the garden." Gary announced.

After the pictorial session, while everyone is heading to the garden, Ingrid went to Lance side.

"Lance… I wanna thank you for everything you have done for the family. I could not thank you enough and I don't know how to pay you back…"

Lance gently smiled at her, reaches out to touch her head, and tenderly pats it.

"You having nothing to worry about. We are family already and a family help each other." He smiled and continued. "…You know what, Ingrid, now I realize what I really felt for you all these years." Ingrid stiffened and Lance notices her reaction that causes him to chuckle.

"Relax, Ingrid. I'm not going to confess to you again hahaha what I am saying is, I realized that I was not really in love with you romantically. I love you as my younger sister and that I was overprotective of you back then to the point that anyone who hurt you before, it was I who retaliated for you, without them, you and anyone knowing it."

Ingrid is stunned at his revelation. Her eyes widen in surprise.

"Gos.h.!.+ You did that for me? You mean veryone? All of those who hurt me? Why?"

Lance laughed.

"Yeah, I was just so immature back then and was foolishly and impulsively acted on my emotions. And I'm so sorry if you thought that I was a stalker, when I told you that I did not tell your parents where you are and that I was just watching you from afar."

"It's okay Lance, I perfectly understand, besides, if you did tell my parents early, things would be much different, and I am much thankful that you didn't. Look at the bright side of everything. I will never meet the man of my life if not of you hiding me." she smiled at him with tenderness. Then she stared at her husband who is busy entertaining their son, Clark.

When Clifford sense that she is staring at him, he looks at her and mouthed:

'I love you.' Ingrid's face turns crimson red and she smiled sweetly.

Lance is so relieved to know that Ingrid sees things that way and he saw the love Clifford and Ingrid have for each other. However, he is still bothered with the accident that happened to her. Lance needed to tell her something or warn her before anything worst might happen again. He has been bothered by some thoughts but he needed to clarify things first.

"I can see that. It's very evident both in your actions." He teased which makes her flush all the more. "Ingrid, listen, I gotta tell you something really important."

"Oh, what is it?" Ingrid's feels strange of Lance sudden seriousness.

"This may be not the right time to say but it is related to the accident or should I say accidents. I think I know –" he was cut-off when Ingrid's mom calls their attention.

"Ingrid, Lance, why are you both looking so serious? Come on! Let's eat. We are famished."

"Okay mom, coming… sorry for that, what did you just Lance?"

"I think this is not yet the proper time, let's enjoy this celebration first, before we get down to business."
