Corrupted Innocence 6 The Altar

They all sat downs Violet explained her encounter with the girl that called herself the 'mother of G.o.ds' and her worries concerning. Everyone listened to Violet intently until she finished and looked at the five of them expecting an answer of some kind.

"What dragon?" Lu raised his hand above his head with a puzzled look on his face, Violet felt that Lu was stupid. She was confused on how he didn't know about the dragon that tore Gaia asunder in the era of t.i.tans.

"It separated the first continents into the eight you see today." She shook her head and he began to hang his head slightly eliciting a laugh from Mia whom was sat beside him. Lucifer raised his hand and interjected "Is it perhaps the Mother of our Universe?"

"I suppose so." Violet answered nodding in agreement with his suggestion before Adam perked up and exclaimed "Wait are you sure?"

"She had eight wings Adam, it fits the bill of the tales plus she is mentioned somewhat in every religion." Lucifer answered Adam before looking back at Violet whom was in deep thought on why the girl had came to visit her and the odd conversation they had which she couldn't remember she could only remember up to when she talked about some kind of sister and the world dragon. "But for now I think we should focus on defeating the humans" Lilith shyly added.

"""""True.""""" They all answered and began to brainstorm their next plan of action in the city and it was soon decided that they would attack the industry finally that the military presence had been weakened and enough intel gathered to know the city and its secrets that they could recite them off the top of their heads and use it as a guide on their attacks throughout the city. Violet picked up a kitchen knife from the inn's kitchen and sheathed it before following the others out of the door.

They ran out of the inn and went down the road towards the plumes of smoke emitting high above the city as the city manufactured the very weapons that the group were to take and also destroy. Two guards were stationed at the entrance of the factory and Violet kneed one in the stomach using her momentum to wind him before slas.h.i.+ng the other guard across the neck and kicked the winded guards head cracking his cranium and neck killing him and she left the other guard to bleed out from the blood gus.h.i.+ng out of the wound she inflicted on his throat as she entered the factory.

She threw her blade into the back of a nearby soldier took his weapon firing upon the other soldiers inside splattering the fragments of bone and brain across the factory as she slaughtered the guards through a variety of methods. One she used the push and pull system and tore and few in half whilst returning fire to the other soldiers. Once she had cleared the factory of all life she rigged a bomb to the sh.e.l.ls being made in the factory and decided to take a rifle and attached a bayonet to it before climbing to the roof and leaping to the roof of the other factory.

She dropped down into the factory and landed on a soldier crus.h.i.+ng his shoulders before she opened fire on the soldier next to her launching him into the nearby wall and rolled into cover as the volley of gunfire started to batter her position.

"Right then, time for the distraction."

She pressed the detonator and the sh.e.l.l factory exploded raining sh.e.l.ls across the city and surrounding destroying more areas a few sh.e.l.ls crashed the windows of the factory Violet was in turning many of the enemies into corpses and destroying a lot of machinery and starting fires all over the factory. She knew this factory would be soon to detonate due to the presence of sh.e.l.ls also and hurriedly climbed to the roof an leaped into the nearby courtyard and stabbed her bayonet into an enemy and used it to launch her self towards and enemy soldier and kick him in the chin flicking his head back with a dull crack.

Just as the other soldiers were about to pen fire the factories exploded outwards as the factories sh.e.l.ls and other explosives began to detonate due tot he fires killing them or launching them away. Violet ran at full speed away from the explosions vaulting over walls and dodging explosions as she made her way to the cities barracks which looked more like a fortress slightly battered due to the explosions caused by the now destroyed factories.

Noticing that some soldiers were approaching she raised her rifle above her head and hit the front soldier the b.u.t.t of her gun before shooting the other in the knee and stabbing the bayonet into the lead soldier before finis.h.i.+ng the other. She looked over at the barracks and took the guns of the two dead soldiers before advancing forward dodging the barrage of bullet fire as she returned fire shattering the skulls of enemies with her bullets before she got close enough to cut them down with her bayonet or beat them to death with the weapons that ran out of ammo before she swapped them out for the guns of dead soldiers.

After wiping the initial defence of the barracks she was met by the gunfire of demons and ducked into cover and checked her ammo and noticed that her rifle had one bullet and her pistol had five bullets left also meaning she had to enter close combat with the final two demons. Luckily they were humanoid meaning there was a chance they were low cla.s.s demons and prepared herself to charge out at the demons.

She pushed off of her feet and launched her self around the corner dodging the gunfire of the demons as she fired her first bullet rupturing the ribcage of a demon as the bullet collided with their chest. She threw her rifle at them and opened fire killing five demons distracted by the rifle and ran towards the last demon whom had unsheathed a sword. He swung the sword down at her and she dodged to the side and kicked him in the back sending him across the courtyard and picked up the pistol of one of the dead demons and shot it in the head before continuing inside the barracks.

On the inside she used the chair in the lobby to kill a guard throwing in at him knocking him over and jumped atop it splintering it into his chest puncturing his lungs and shot his comrade in the left shoulder blade then the right eye killing him. She climbed to her feet and walked past the entrance and found her self in a room full of soldiers none of which was armed. She opened fire killing a few before it ran out of ammo, she ran forward using any means at her disposal to kill them as they charged at her such as using the toothbrush of a soldier and jamming it in his eye. when she was at the last person she decided that she would use the 'happy sock' of a soldier she found and strangled him to death with it and continued into the command and logistics room where she found the commander sat alone at his desk a nervous smile on his face.

"Hi."

"Hi."

She pointed the gun at his head and shot him immediately after before searching his office for a gun only finding a revolver with twelve bullets before she exited the barracks and headed to the church to meet the others so they could all a.s.sess their progress. On the way she had killed a few soldiers using their own guns so that she did not waste her own ammo and took one of their rifles before arriving at the church.

Lu looked over at Violet covered in blood and grimaced before asking "Are you ok?"

"Yeah, so how'd it go on your end."

"Successful we have found the location of one of the arch demons as well as killed the lord of the city thanks to your 'distraction' or I should say elimination of the armed forces present here.

"They shot at me what do you expect to happen?"

"What did I expect?" He shook his head and sat down "Do we really have to kill this many people?"

"War isn't about who is right. It's about who is left."

"You said that before."

"I know."

She sat beside him on the church bench and as the other arrived and all reported a success on their end before they came up with a gameplay to deal with the news of one of the arch demons actually coming to the city. They decided they would wait for him and mount an a.s.sault against him and kill him in the city which would weaken the federation as they should lose a third of their demons as they die instantly the moment their arch demon dies. That would break the stalemate even more and the federation will be pushed back further.

"Puhuhu Well done!"

The strange girl from her vision had appeared before sat upon the alter of the church with a huge grin on her face. Lu looked at Violet and asked "Is that her?"

"The one and only! Puhuhu!" She looked across the five of them left to right before continuing "Kiddo's! It appears all I se is a bunch of little ruffians here puhuhu! Not that I'm complaining... but it seems you will bore me to death by the time you even defeat this really pitiful human alliance. I mean I am kinda ashamed that should a powerful species were actually losing and now are at a stalemate! Puhuhu!"

Violet looked at the girl with anger and stood up and interjected "They summoned arch demons!"

The girls eyes turned cold and the coldness of her deep red eyes gave all of them s.h.i.+vers as she answered Violet this time unsmiling "Replacing reality with idiocracy."

Violet didn't answer and the girl suddenly brightened up again and continued to talk "Well not that it matters! Anyway, I bet you are wondering about that threat I was talking about?"

"Yes."

"Well... It doesn't exist Puhuhu!"

Violet cliched her fists in anger at the games the small girl was playing and began to step forward "Calm down sweetie, if you want to kill me be prepared to watch your entire species die first! Puhuhu!"

"What do you want?"

"Well I have this friend who made a small little mistake that was ripping apart Gaia and when it wakes up you just need to repel it!"

"Why can't you do it?"

A toothy grin stretched across her face "Well you see that wouldn't be any fun would it?"

The girl looked at her wrist as if exaggerating something was on her wrist before waving at them "Puhuhu! Time to go! Let's have fun 'Kay!" The girl disappeared as suddenly as she had arrived. The group was left in silence and Violet stood trembling in anger at her inability to fight against the arrogant little girl that had insulted the pride of the angels. Lu stood up and sighed "So we are being lead around by a bored psychotic G.o.d?"

"Looks like it." Adam joked.

Violet kept looking at the alter her mind occupied by the thought of the fear she had felt when that girl stopped smiling for a small amount of time to ridicule her she felt a fear like no other and she certainly didn't want to explore it further. The silence was broken when Lu said they still had an arch demon to deal with even if there was a G.o.ddess trying her best to torture them to entertain herself and so they began to plan for the subjugation of the first of the three arch demons of man.
