Additionally, everyone now had 2 hours of free time each day. This obviously wasn't a time where he just let everyone stay in their home lazily, instead, during this period of time they could do things like exchange information, learn a new skill and all kinds of stuff like that.
Thanks to this everyone was steadily absorbing more information. They learned what rare resources looked like, they learned where magical cores came from and a bunch of more things. Other than the most recent arrivals n.o.body here looked like they were farmers.
By now a few people with good magical talent had also appeared and were allowed access to the first 2 floors of the magic tower. They could enter the second floor for 5 merit points a day. These merit points were a new currency Jay and old man Von Hauser decided to implement.

Merit points could also be used to borrow one of the magical books for a certain amount of time.
Merit points were gained by going on expeditions in the woods or mountains and bringing back valuable information or magical objects. Despite being somewhat dangerous this was the best way to get the necessary intel and gain a semi-steady supply of low-grade magical objects.
Thus they were the first group of people other than the special talents who didn't have to go to training in the evenings.
Non-magicians could also earn merit points, in order to get there they would have to do special deeds in battle. They could then use these merit points to live in a better situated house or eventually get to train in a cultivation technique.
Once this was all in place, he headed to the market. After all, he had 900 gold coins now, 600 that he had earlier and another 300 that was found in the village.
After seeing there was still n.o.body really posting anything in the player market he once again headed to the system market. The basic magic books took a month to become available again, so they would still be out for 2 weeks.
He navigated the marketplace quickly, finding the intermediate magic books. These were the best ones available on the market and there would only be 3, refilling every 3 months. Each of these books cost around 100 gold but it was most certainly worth it.
There was a good reason any intermediate magic book would be highly sought after. They either had Tier 1 spells or they had information to make ones breakthrough to tier 1 easier.
It seemed like these books were a mix of both, 2 of them containing a spell where the other one was pure theory.
By now there were 3 people ready to become tier 1 experts. Himself, General Green and Geralt.
He was ready since he had reached level 10 with 10 mana a while back. Geralt and General Green were ready since they had almost formed their sword intent. So, he soon had both of them sent over.
After careful consideration, Jay had decided to let them practice the E grade cultivation technique. This cultivation technique was focused on strength instead of spirit. Jay didn't pick this one since he had decided to break through spiritually, making progress towards the path of a 5th rank mage which was said to be an unbeatable existence.
Even if 5th ranked warriors were seen similarly, he always found that he was more suited to be a mage rather then a warrior, it was only due to a lack of resources he picked the warrior path in his last life.
Jay decided not to breakthrough here. Since he would be the first one in his city to have made a breakthrough he would be engulfed in a ma.s.sive golden light. This would alert everyone in the entire area of his general location.
Since he wanted to avoid this he wanted to finish the warp portal first. This way, he could just breakthrough in the main city, thus not drawing too much-unwanted attention.
The warp gate required something called a light core. This wasn't something the system sold in the marketplace and finding it was really up to chance.
So, for the time being, he focused his efforts on studying the intermediate magic books. He might not be able to cast the first tier spells yet but that didn't mean he couldn't start learning it.
At this point is time First City had more than doubled in size. In now had an inner city and outer city.
The inner city was the place to be, it had the market. The best blacksmiths, the Lord lived there and it was near the barracks.
The people in the Outer city had a few options to get into the inner city. One of these was merit points. By paying a certain amount of merit points each week they got to live there. There were also houses that couldn't be rented with merit points, in order to get access to those, they would have to challenge the current owner to a fight and win.
Obviously these weren't fights to the death and whoever spilled first blood won.
Walking around the city, Jay was glad to see how hard everyone was working, there seemed to be no difference with how Humans and Iceborne interacted with each other as it truly seemed the Iceborne had fully integrated themselves into the group.
After ordering Architect Gariel to make a s.h.i.+pyard blueprint he headed into the forest on his own.
He started running at full speed with his aura unleashed, so no animal dared to stop him.
His goal was just beyond this forest, he hadn't forgotten about the horses he had seen what now seemed so long ago on the goblin map.
And indeed, soon enough he pa.s.sed the forest, before being moderately surprised by what he saw in front of him.
It seemed that just beyond this forest there was a small human town with only about 30 people. What made him smile, however, was that they had 20 horses in a large stable, yet they had yet to build a defensive wall.
Since he was here already, he might as well just take over this village real quick right?
