CHAPTER 4 – PART FIVE

A year fully pa.s.sed and news of the Racial Battle Royale has been getting even noisier that it even reached the city and became the talk of the town. I'm not really obligated to attend that but as there is an existing alliance between me and the Demon Realm, and as I am the one who killed Azrael-on, the Demon Realm's Hero, then it falls on my head to represent our alliance, even though this is just secret for the human realm for now.

There were things to prepare but I left all that to fate and just left bringing with me the usual set of things like clothes and pills. I have in my storage clothes, lots of clothes and then medicine for mana regeneration and health regeneration. I don't need anything else so yeah, that's all my preparation is like.

The guys finished their training when they showed me their mastery over their new abilities. Although not a master just yet, they showed me that they can overwhelm me without actually damaging me physically. Being unable to move your king anymore is called "Check-mate" in chess, and that's what happened to me. If I were to forcefully free myself from the encirclement, they would not be able to stop me but I prompted against moving that way because causing damage now would just work against me and our goals.

I left them in charge of the unity of the whole human realm. That means that they will be doing the managing of the Human Realm when I am away. What I'm doing is actually what I wanted to do the most when I was still imagining being transported to another world, establis.h.i.+ng your own village.

I want to do this properly from scratch but with my current power, just building a small village would not be appropriate and would instead be making the population's growth stand still. With my current power, I cannot be holding a small village, it's against my pride. Fufufu.

My village will be an entire realm instead of just a small village out of nowhere we will occupy the whole realm. I won't expect the realm to be a peaceful one, but after I announce my existence to the world through a show of force, any resistance will weaken considerably and we will be able to purge any opposition then.

Once I announce my existence and power, other races who skeptically look to us humans as inferior fundamentally, will seek to challenge me and a time will come when I will have to constantly fight. Predicting this, I have to make sure that the major powers of the races instead know of my strength beforehand. If they still wish to challenge me then, I will give them h.e.l.l.

I know where the venue for the battle will be and can get there in but a day via flight, and the rest of my men could actually do this too, but since they are doing their own tasks I'll go on my own. Without further ado, I took to the skies and flew towards that place.

By now, our territory should have grown to more than half the whole human realm with the empire shrinking and shrinking as time goes by. The last place to invade is the empire and taking it down will be easier with the three of them working together. I say 'three' since Isaac is in charge of the city while I'm away.

Nothing happened during my flight and so I will omit it.

When I arrived at the venue, even though it was already night-time, the place was as if daylight never left. The whole place was filled with lamps and even floating light b.a.l.l.s that illuminate the whole place. Dragonkin were everywhere I looked with a hint of nothing but a few merchants of different races behind stalls. This venue is dominated by the dragons it seems.

[The Dragon King is already here and is currently meditating to be in his most optimum state before the fights start the next few days later. When the Dragon King moves, everything and everyone will be shut up I'm sure.] A dragon-headed person spoke in a loud voice as if his voice was not loud enough for everyone to here in this place. I was walking in the street towards the large arenlooking place when I saw it from up above earlier, so I'm currently sandwiched by the rest of these people. I don't call them monsters because they are people as well, so let's get that clear, even though they look like one, they are not. The snake-headed demon race don't compare to the stature and the looks of a dragon-headed Dragonkin so I cannot be wrong about them, plus doesn't need to be invoked to see stats.

[Why, there's of course no doubt that our Dragon King will win this tournament again and get to maintain our dominance over anybody else. Even if it's us normal citizens, we'll be able to beat their heroes or whatever if they were faced with us I'm sure.] Another one spoke with yet louder a voice than that of the first one. After a few more steps while trying my best to ignore them, a number of bulking dragonkin stopped in front of me and slowly those behind me formed a circle with those in front of me, surrounding me effectively, at least that's what they think.

[That's why; I'm wondering why a puny human like this one came to our territory without anyone with him as if he owns the place? Hey, you. Why are you alone in this place and what's your goal in coming here?] The tallest and bulkiest among them spoke and pushed aside the people in front of him to face me. He's probably standing at 8 feet while I'm only half-past 5 feet. That's a huge disparity if you ask me. However, his stats speak the truth for him. He's actually a magician with bulky muscles because of his race being that of an earth dragon's offspring.

By the way, they were speaking in the human language since earlier. I think they want to intimidate us by using our own language to talk to us instead of us being laughed at by them because of our awkward grammars.

"What seems to be the problem good sirs?" I asked. I want to keep a low profile if possible, but this cliché development just came and I have to deal with it first. So I answered him as gently as I can… when the guy actually tried to lift me up by holding the collar of my s.h.i.+rt, I hardened my body and made him loose his sense of weight for a second before letting up and he fell down face-first because of that.

They want to embarra.s.s me; they'll have to pay for a price before doing it. I'm not really into punis.h.i.+ng these guys if they don't go overboard, but knowing the clichés and the templates, this probably will escalate quickly if I answer back or even when I don't answer.

When I answered, they made ugly faces as if they ate some s.h.i.+t. I knew then where this is going. I planted myself on the ground and became alert, at least in how I looked. Then the tall guy again spoke, [You dare to talk back you weakling?! Only the strong are granted voice in here, as punishment, you will be beaten up by my men. Accept your fate!]

See where that went?

So the men surrounding me since earlier made gleeful faces as if they will be fulfilling their desires like hungry wolves in front of juicy meat. And in this situation I'm the juicy meat. The mature thing to do would be to just go and ignore them since they really can't register in my eyes as obstruction and will only serve as mosquitoes trying to suck blood, which is annoying at most.

I stepped forward when I decided to 'maturely' handle the situation, although that could not materialize as I was slow to move and the fist of someone behind me was already bee-lining towards my back. In retaliation, I would be able to destroy him utterly, but really, I'm not interested in exerting even the slightest effort to kill these people. Let's just escape.

Deciding so, I left the scene as I entered super slow motion and arrived in front of the arena's entrance without a sound. Not even the slightest disturbance in s.p.a.ce or the elements or the mana in the air. That's how much of an extent I can control my abilities now. I stopped rapidly growing the moment I prompted to have control instead compared to how I was growing when I actively managed my growth in strength through the gravity accessories.

At the entrance was a table with four guards standing like a statue to hinder anyone who would recklessly just go inside. I approached the receptionist and registered myself as the Human Representative and they all had looks of disdain when I mentioned it.

[You? You're so thin and short that you'd not last a few seconds up I that ring, yet you still wish to partic.i.p.ate, just how courageous are you or is it that you're just incapable of feeling shame?] The receptionist was quite rude to me but then again, I can tolerate them since they don't really know my strength, plus, killing him would be too easy. That's how power works I think; the more you have, the less you'd want to use it on stupid individuals who know not any better. Unless they truly cross the line, then that's when I can only respond with brute force.

"I am quite honored to be here actually, so could you register me now and let me get inside? When will the tournament start?" I asked politely still maintaining my humble, polite façade. While I was doing so, another person came after me and the dragon-heads, even the receptionist stood up and bowed slightly towards that guest, I'm guessing a partic.i.p.ant as well. He was huge, having a lion-like hair much to Super Saiyan Three Goku's hairdo but it extends inwards to his chest. Then his eyes show the ferocious property of a cat's but his face is that of a human while his ears are that of a lions as well. His tail was slightly swinging in a relaxed manner as he faced the direction I was at. Seeing me in front of the receptionist, he bowed slightly and waited for his turn. I like his att.i.tude, unlike this stupid receptionist. When I also bowed slightly to the lion-like individual whose race is Lion Beastkin, the guy's eyes sharpened as if seeing something dangerous. I saw in his status a change ever so quickly, [Surprise] then quickly back to normal. He has a good control over his emotions it seems.

"Please hurry up with my registration so that the gentleman over there can already register as well. As I perceive he is here for that reason as well." I urged the receptionist who was continuously rude to me, not that I care, but really it's starting to annoy me. I pointed my thumb towards my back to indicate the lion-like beastkin. I think he might be the equivalent of the Demon Emperor of the demon realm, since he has strength on the Pseudo-Angelic stage, which means, this guy's realm did not summon a hero to send here and instead just represented them with their own king or emperor. I like how they think, reserve that power for a time where crisis really is striking over their territory instead of summoning just because the G.o.ds they serve is saying so.

The receptionist made an ugly face as he hurriedly processed my application and registration.

[Tell me your name and fighting style please.] He asked as if polite but with glaring eyes. Am I really that weak looking? Sigh.

"Clay, Pugilist" Even though I'm having questions in my mind why they need the fighting style; I just don't care at this point. Now then, that should have been finished right?

[Please proceed to the left side where there are people who will direct you to the testing area. We have to know if you are qualified to partic.i.p.ate after all.] So he really doubted my strength, oh well, let's just get this over with.

"Okay." I answered calmly and went to the left side of the entrance and found someone holding a clipboard of some sorts and was recording someone's results. I see a large stone with magic in it that actually lights up in different colors whenever a certain threshold is reached. I got that from just my glance, has really come a long way from telling me simple things to a.n.a.lyzing even the most complex things like magic that I see.

I went to him and asked him to evaluate me as well. *BOOM* someone struck the stone in front of him and found his result to be lacking and so he shouted [Ah! h.e.l.l!] in frustration. I think I get why the disdain never let up towards me, since there are humans here trying to actually partic.i.p.ate but are not strong enough to actually enter. That's understandable then. His result showed on the stone and it showed the color brown. The colors for evaluation are as follows: Grey, White, Black, Blue, Red, Yellow, Orange, Green, and then Violet for the strongest it can take. The test is actually only held in case of aspiring partic.i.p.ants who would needlessly die in this tournament to be prevented from entering. It was for the protection of the human race, and that amazes me, it must be that there are others who don't see humans as weaklings but instead look to us as if we are pitiful and must be looked on with care, in a way that's still very depressing a thought but it's better than being disdained without reason huh?

Finally it was my turn to test myself when I heard the receptionist's fawning voice and said, [If it isn't the King of the Beasts, will you be partic.i.p.ating alone? If that is so you may already proceed and await the start of the tournament in one of the VIP rooms. Refreshments will be provided for you as per you will. So please, enter and someone will lead you to your room there.] It really annoyed me because of how different their treatment of me is.

[What about that other guy earlier was he not admitted?] The lion-like person asked in wonder. [Oh, that guy? He was just a weakling and will not be able to pa.s.s the test so I sent him away; it's not something for you to be concerned about.] He said a.s.sumingly. Hearing that, the guy reacted by suddenly leaving without hearing anymore of what the receptionist have to say and then left the words that made me want to see how this guy truly is, he said, "Foolish weakling you say, you're the foolish one for not smelling that hint of power he is hiding." Then he scoffed and disappeared inside. The receptionist did not understand what the guy said so he just shrugged his shoulders off and sat down again.

*BOOM!*
