"Honey, are you there already?" Xu Jia Li shouted inside the bathroom. She just finished taking a relaxing bath when she heard the door of her apartment opened. Since Si Weimin already knew the pa.s.sword, he could come and go as he pleased.

With a great mood, she put on her light blue ap.r.o.n. She emerged out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her head. It was still early so she was really wondering why Si Weimin already came.

With hurried steps, she excitedly went out to the living room and found Lan Meixu with Zhen Nian sitting on the sofa. Her eyes immediately widened upon seeing the two.

"Li-jie, are you keeping something from us?" Zhen Nian stood from the couch and came closer to Xu Jia Li. She poked her shoulder repeatedly before she teased, "I smell something fishy, Li-jie."

"I-I'm n-not! W-why would I?" Xu Jia Li laughed awkwardly as she lightly pushed Zhen Nian, "Ha ha ha! W-why would I k-keep something from y-you? Ha ha ha!"

"You're acting so strange, Li-jie."

"Ha ha ha! Am I? Ha ha ha! Of course not!" Xu Jia Li shook her head, all the while waving her hands. She quietly snuck a glance at the door, praying that Si Weimin won't come.

She was sweating profusely from nervousness. She didn't know why Lan Meixu and Zhen Nian chose to come at this day of all the other days. She fiddled with her fingers as she bit her lower lips. She didn't know if she could survive and continue lying under the two women's intense gazes.

"Xiao Li, are you waiting for someone?" Lan Meixu teased.

"Me? N-no, not at all. Ha ha!"

"You're clearly lying," Lan Meixu laughed before she continued, "By the way, the company plans to team you up with Li Yun for a commercial. I haven't said yes yet because I thought I should ask you first."

Xu Jia Li had a blank expression on her face as she looked first at Lan Meixu then at Zhen Nian.

"Li-jie, I guess you shouldn't accept it. First, the previous scandal about Qi Xenjin and second, he already confessed his feelings for you. Every project that you will have with him will be smeared by gossips and rumors."

"Nian, let's leave it to Xiao Li to decide."

"But, Manager Lan, Li-jie doesn't really need to accept that commercial since she's already busy with her shooting."

"Li-jie, where's Linqin?" Zhen Nian suddenly asked as she turned her head to scan the place.

He felt accomplished every time he did things for her. Unlike other men who felt degraded doing things like this, he found it another act of love. He didn't even think it was unmanly.

"You know, I can do it. We're not in a hurry after all," Xu Jia Li giggled as she tried to get the hair drier back.

"But we are in a hurry."

"Just let me finish this so you can dress up immediately."

"But where are we going?"

Seeing the confused look on Xu Jia Li's face, Si Weimin laughed before he gently pinched the tip of her nose, "I have a surprise for you."

"A surprise?"

"Are we going to The Great Wall today? At broad daylight?"

"Yes, don't worry. No one will see you there," Si Weimin smiled mysteriously as he continued drying Xu Jia Li's hair.
