Xu Jia Li stopped reminiscing the past when her a.s.sistant, Shen Linqin knocked on the door and excitedly said,

She merely smiled.

It had been 8 years; eight long difficult  years yet there was not a single moment she forgot how hard it had been since she had lost her mother.

The night after she read her mother's diary, she finally understood everything.

Xu Huifen was not her mother's real name; it was Yang Yi Fei. She was a student of Cui Ruzhou and studied fine arts. She was the only daughter of Yang Haoting and Xu Meilin - both pa.s.sionate painters.

On the other hand, the man she was with in the picture and the one who wrote the letters were the same; he was  Zhou Jiayin.

They were childhood sweethearts. Zhou Jiayin came from the family of businessmen and became the chairman of Zhou Group at the age of 25.

Things began to turn upside down when Zhou Jiayin stayed in the states for 2 years. There, she met the famous actress, Ye Lingling.

When Jiayin went back from abroad, he reunited with Yi Fei and they planned to get married. However, Yi Fei found out that Jiayin had a relations.h.i.+p with Ye Lingling. Later, the actress told Yi Fei that she was carrying Zhou Jiayin's child.

Yi Fei's world crumbled. She tried to ask Jiayin; she wanted him to explain everything; she tried her best to understand that everything was a lie but instead of explaining himself, Zhou Jiayin asked Feng Chen, his trusted a.s.sistant, to give her a cheque - a cheque to make her leave. She torn the cheque in pieces and threw it on the floor.

The following day, she heard that he would be marrying Ye Lingling.

Yang Yi Fei never lost hope and instead did everything to talk to Zhou Jiayin. She wanted to tell him that she was also pregnant. However, she was denied countless of times. She was even kidnapped and threatened to be killed if she would not leave Jiayin alone.

What hurt her the most was not the kidnapping nor the fact that Ye Lingling was pregnant but the cruel truth that Zhou Jiayin sent her money through Feng Chen.

That same day, Yang Yi Fei's parents died in a car accident. According to the culprit who tapped her parents' car, it was Zhou Jiayin's order.

Yi Fei felt aggrieved and lost consciousness, when she woke up, she moved to Xhuan Jin Province and decided never to return again.
