Arachnomancer 67 Union Of Races

Alternative POV-

They are coming. For as long as the Union has existed we have been plaqued by Fallen Dwarves and Drow. Our families enslaved and forced to endure atrocities. However, this time we can strike back. I'm sitting with several other leaders of the most numerous and powerful races in the Union. The cunning Goblins, Pride Ogres, Living Ghouls, and several beastmen races....

My race is somewhat new(We came here in the last 200 years) to the Union as a teleportation accident lead to our species s.h.i.+fting to this pocket. Unfortunately our numbers are low due to us first appearing in the Drow Theocracy leading to the loss of thousands of avarice trolls. They only captured a few of us due to our appearences not fitting their 'aesthetics'. It was a slaughter....

My race is one of the larger-sized species in the Union along with the few Minotaurs and Pride Ogres so we are viewed as important members. Although we may not be as physically strong as either races we have powerful regenerative powers along with several powerful mages. Hmmmm? I see a rather tall pride ogre come over.... Not again.

"Nice to see you Varres, my friend!" Ogen

Ogen! This brute! Doesn't realize how strong his pats are! My shoulder hurts for a few seconds before the pain recedes.... My mind goes blank as I look at him. Pride Ogres did not wear clothing many years ago until a certain pervert appeared amongst them. He made clothes that displayed muscles and their reproductive organs more than if they were naked. Very very tight clothing.... Ugghhhh.....

"Ogen, you should learn that brutes like you should be quiet! Shut the h.e.l.l up!" Tot

"Huhhh!?!? What can a lesser succubus say to those with real strength!?!? Sucking on the rotten diseased shafts of lepers seems to be your only ability." Ogen

Ogen takes a pouch off his belt and throws it at Tot. Something rolls out..... Is that?.... She recoils at that. She seems to have gotten a whiff of it as she gags and dry heaves. She gets angry afterwards and storms off. Ogen is a Pride Ogre who no one really crosses as he seems to have a knack for angering and disgusting any race in existence.

"Hah! You should learn from me, Varres! I have enough pouches to counter hundreds of races. Look at Tot vomiting in that barrel. You could argue forever with her but, just a toss of a pouch made me the winner!" Ogen

After listening to Ogen rant about his own awesomeness, the head walks out. Fully garbed in black robes with a black haze obscuring his face. Technically he is not the leader of the Union but everyone treats him as such. Stronger than even Ogen, smart, and listens well. The perfect leader..... Everyone quiets down and listens to him.

"Nice to see that everyone's here for once. Everyone knows that an attack is coming after the effort we had to use to repel the Zephyr Lord.... It seems that the Black Iron Pyre is going to lead the invasion of our country.... However we won't tolerate this. Unlike the previous times we now have a special consumable artifact.... We also have Varres who has learned a particularly unique magic that can turn the scales. We will cripple the Black Iron Pyre's forces and kill the Drow Queen, Ravel." Union Head

"R-ravel.... She's in their forces?" Tot

Tot asks, a little scared. She was captured by Ravel's guard once in a battle and given to a king as a plaything. She only escaped since the head personally lead a force to get her back. It came with a price though.... The head lost his left arm while a lot of elites died. Why did the head do this? Because Tot, while p.i.s.sy at times, is a good person and a honourable leader. She is good friends with most of us too, minus Ogen....

"Yes, I have also heard rumors of a new faction in their society under the complete control of a single individual. He controls hordes of spiders and is said to be extremely evil..... Make sure to collect any information you can on this fellow if you can but, be careful. He is most definitely not simple. Especially since any attempts to collect any real information on him has basically failed...." Union Head

"Sounds like a fun guy! I'll make sure to introduce him to my friend 'Mister Fister'." Ogen

Ummm?.... Okay..... Everyone ignores Ogen's iffy statement as we continue to talk about different strategies and things to watch out for. Eventually a scout runs in and alerts us all. Apparently, Fallen Dwarf scouts have been spotted near Mictiel Fortress. Their main forces are probably not too far behind. I'm probably not needed for that. They are probably going to use 'that' consumable artifact there.....

Originally, it wasn't a consumable. However, it didn't produce much damage making it basically useless. However the Head experimented with it and found a way to overload it to cause an ridiculous amount of damage. Use that with a artifact that helps widen the area of spells and abilities will make it able to blow a chunk out of a map. Ogen and the Head will probably work on that.

My mission.... Is to capture Ravel. The head originally planned to just have me outright kill her but, after a few suggestions were thrown in he changed his mind. Hopefully this all goes well. Tot is to aid me in infiltrating, thankfully.... Still, I have this idea pop up in my head every now and then. As if we are all just following some sort of script that'll lead to our deaths.... As if our actions are predetermined to result in nothing towards our own desires. Own desires.... Perhaps those are predetermined as well.... I can try to describe this to Tot but, she will just brush it off as ridiculous.

As I prepare to move out towards to enemy camp I here a scout who is panicking. A city is under attack! d.a.m.n! Everyone else is preoccupied with different matters! The head and Ogen are already out towards Mictiel Fortress....

I quickly find Tot who seems to have gotten the same news. She nods and we quickly depart from the capital! We have to make it!

What we arrived to was a half ruined city with hundreds crying over dead ones while others are working to try and save people. Weird blue flames are burning as people fail to extinguish them. Many have been torn to shreds while others are have been drained into mummies. Then I see something horrid. Walking corpses covered in weird fungal growths. The guards are still fighting them.

Tot immediately charges to kill them. She can take care of them. I run over to the dying to help heal them. That is what I am best at after all.....
