'Hot d.a.m.n, would ya look at that a.s.s. I knew she'd grow up to be a babe but s.h.i.+t, she's gorgeous.'

I try not to stare too hard at her,

"So uh, what's the deal with those two? They date or something?"

"Oh s.h.i.+t man, you don't know?"

"Know what?"

"Dude, they're engaged."

"Well i'll be d.a.m.ned."

"Right?! Like, how did someone like him pull a fox like that?"

"Don't know."

'Who'd ever think that my little Zero would grow up so quickly.'

"Hey, wipe the drool off your mouth dude, here they come."

They walk in together, she's clinging onto his arm as the water from the pool drips down her exposed legs.

"Yo, somebody make me a plate. I want at least two of everything."

"Make it yourself b.i.t.c.h!"

Him and Carlos wrestle around like kids for a bit.

"Can you two like not? We have guest so you have to actually act like adults."

She steps over them and sits down at the counter. She locks eyes with me but looks away.

"So uh, what do you want to eat lil lady?"

She examines my face,

'Give it up babe, I gotta new face as soon as I left that f.u.c.ked up house.'

"I uh, I think i'll make Ricky's plate first. Hey babe, are you sure you want two of everything?"

"Yeah, and a beer too."

"No way! Those are mine!"

She leaves to make his food and Ricky still tussles with Carlos.

'Honestly, what does she see in him?'

She must have forgotten that she was in a bathing suit because she bends over to the counter to reach for a plate.

I know that there an age gap between us but I can't help but stare. She's just so...so beautiful.

"Uh Kaz, why don't you go dry off. I'll make my own food."

Ricky looks over at me,

's.h.i.+t, he must've seen me staring.'

"You sure? I can finish up quickly-"

"Nah, I got it. Go get dressed."

She nods and disappears up the stairs. A pair of unfamiliar hands clasp onto my shoulders.

"So you're Manny huh? You know her?"

It's Ricky. I can hear anger in his voice,

"No, she just reminds me of someone from my past."

"Hm, is that why you keep staring at her?"

"I apologize if it offends you but the resemblance is just so...uncanny."

"You've kinda been avoiding her though. Something I should know about?"

He jokingly ask the question but I know he's being completely serious.

"I had a different life before this one, one i'd forgotten long ago but seeing her made it all reappear."

"May I ask what that was?"

"I'd rather not get into details but let's just say it was...madness."

She comes back downstairs in her shorts and a crop top.

"Ah, c'mere baby."

Ricky picks her up and sits her on the counter. He touches all over her and she doesn't stop him, instead she blushes and giggles as he wishers in her ear.

"And you were yelling at us for wrestling! Now look at ya, about to f.u.c.k on top of the table!"

"Man shut up! We're just talking."

"Yeah, right, and i'm just looking at this beer."

I can't help but laugh.

'To think a world cla.s.s a.s.sa.s.sin is eating barbecue and giggling is just so strange to me.'

"Aye Carlos, I think i'll start to make my way out. My wife gets off in about an hour and i'm picking her up."

"Ah c'mon! We haven't even had dessert yet!"

"Trust me, i'd love to stay but duty calls."

He walks over and hugs me,

"Well thanks for coming out man. It was nice to see you again."

"Thank you for having me. I'll see ya round."

Before I leave, I look at her one more time. She catches my eye and mouths something,

'I know it's you Manny.'

A smile appears on my face,

'I guess I can't hide for long.'

I leave the mansion and make my way home. The entire ride I couldn't stop thinking about her.

"My little girl's all grown up, and she did it without me. Next time i'll talk to you kid, I swear it."
