The Substitute Wife Chapter 6: 6 Leaving

Soon their honeymoon was over, they return home. Mia went to the coffee shop to meet up with her editor. Her editor was very satisfying with her work. "I really enjoy it. I think the children will too." Mia smiles.

Soon it gotten dark out, Mia didn't even notice. "JJ, I'll leave this in your care." "Let it to me." Mia heads home after submitting her sketches. As soon as she got home, Hiro was sitting on the couch, waiting for her. He kept checking his watch. "Where is this d.a.m.n woman?"

He scoffs and kept looking out of the window to see if she comes. He paces back and forth, waiting impatiently. Soon he sees her walking in. He went to sit on the chair, waiting for her. As she walks through the door, she didn't notice him which makes him angry.

He gets up and walks towards her. "Did you know what time it is?!" She startles. "Ah...I'm sorry. I was chatting with someone and didn't notice the time. It won't happen again." (Someone? Is it a man? Are you...?) She lowers her head. "Um...I'll go up." Hiro was frustrated how he's too nice towards her.

On the weekend, she attends a party with him, which she feels uncomfortable of going. She stays in the corner. Someone push her behind. "Ah?!" She fell on her knees. She turns and notices a group of beautiful women standing behind her, giggling.

Hiro was standing where he can keep an eye on Mia. Suddenly he knits his brows as soon as the women behind Mia pushed her. Mia fell on the floor. Hiro excuses himself and heads to Mia's direction. (You dare touch my woman.) One of the woman speaks up, "Hiro. Long time no see." (I don't even know you.) He glares at her. "Who are you?" She was shocked. "I'm Hannah, don't you remember?" "Sorry. I only remember my wife's name." He pulls her close to him. (Hiro...) He looks at Mia. "Let's go." The women got angry.

Hiro notices Mia keeps on limping. He stops and bends down to look at her foot. "Hiro? Ah!" "Stay still." He clicks his tongue and knits his brows. He stands up and lifts her up in his arms. "H-Hiro. P-put me down." "No." He walks to the car. "Why not?" "Your foot got sprain from the fall." "...You notice?"

He looks at her. "Of course, I'm your husband." She feels a sharp pain in her chest. (If it was her, would you do that same? Heh. Of course you would since she's Maya. I'm just a fraud.) Hiro gently puts her down in the back seat of the car. He walks around and gets inside of the car. Slowly, Mia has fallen asleep.

Hiro carries her inside and gently puts her on the bed. He slowly removes the jewelry that she was wearing. He also removes her heels and dress. He went to the closet to grab something for her to wear. He just grabs one of his for her to wear.

Next morning, Mia wakes up in Hiro's embrace. She sits up while rubbing her eyes. "Huh?" She realizes she's just wearing a t-s.h.i.+rt. (How did...) She hears a voice nearby. "I change your clothes." She turns and sees Hiro laying in bed. He opens his eyes and their eyes met. "Y-you change m-my clothes."

"There's nothing wrong about changing my own wife's clothes." She stands up on the bed. "Y-you saw it?" "Well...it's not the best but it will do. No need to--" He got slapped by her. She ignores him first thing in the morning. "Hey." She ignores him. She finishes her breakfast and head to the door. "I'll take you." SLAM. She walks out of the house. "Jerk." She pouts and heads to work.

Hiro got irritated. "d.a.m.n you woman!" He got an idea and make plans to make up with her. He prepares everything and went to pick her up. As she walks out of the building, she notices him leaning on his car, he waves but got ignored.

He scoffs and walks towards her. "Hey. Let's go." He takes her hand. "What are you doing?" "Let's go." She pouts as he keeps dragging her. He takes her to a restaurant. She was amazed how beautiful the interior and exterior designs are. He feels good about himself. Soon they begins to eat and enjoy their time together.

Half a year went by, she receives a phone call from her father. She picks it up. "h.e.l.lo?" "Mia. Are you busy?" "I just got done with an interview." "Good. Maya is back." Her heart stops. "So she will heading to the villa, you just need to return to your own place. Understand?" "....Yes Father." Her father ends the call. She grips her cellphone. (That's right. This is Maya's place. Not mine.)

She promised him to meet him at the same restaurant. She texts Maya and tell her to go there to meet him. Mia then blocks his number. (Goodbye.) She turns her heels and went back to her apartment.
