The Others Within - Awakening 4 The Train To The Abyss - Part 1 / 2

Emilia calls a taxi and waits. She begins to think if what she is doing will affect Tim. "I'm sure he'll be fine." She says to herself. A few minutes later, the taxi arrives. She gets into the pa.s.senger seat at the back and places her bag beside her. The driver looks at her in the mirror. "Good day, I a.s.sume you're going to the train station?" He asks. "Yeah, wait... How do you know?" Emilia asks. The driver looks back at her and takes off his hat. It was the man again. "You!" She yells. "What are you planning to do this time?" She adds. "Don't worry. I won't hurt you. I am also going to the train station." The man replies with a smile. He looks back to the front, and drives. Both of them were silent for 5 minutes. "Listen, Ms. Mingreto. I have something to tell you." He addressed. Emilia looked at him. "What is it?" She asked. "I recently found out about your little shenanigans down in the bas.e.m.e.nt." He replied in a serious tone. "You've fully activated the domino effect. Your "Other" will never stop looking for you now. It'll do anything to kill you." He added. He hits the brakes and looks back at Emilia with a dark glow in his eyes. "You only have 1 month left. Find the truth, and perhaps the timer will disappear." He adds. Emilia just stared at him blankly. The man then just went back into driving. "Remember this, Ms. Mingreto. If you ever encounter other people "Others", just run. Don't try to fight back." He says with a serious tone again. "Wait, other people are experiencing what I am experiencing too?" Emilia asked. The man just nodded. "However, you have a different case. You may have an "Other", but it seems yours is a separate ent.i.ty. It's not attached to your shadow, unlike most "Others". That's what makes it dangerous." He said. "Now, there is only one way to combat your "Other", and that is to just hit it in the head, and I'm sure you know of that already considering the fact you did it in the bas.e.m.e.nt." He adds. "So wait... I can kill it?" She asks. "You can't kill it, but you can stun it." The man replies. "I see..." Emilia says to herself. "We'll be at the train station soon." He adds.

10 minutes later, they finally arrived. "Well, I guess I got to leave," Emilia says. She picks up her bag, and leaves the car. As she is about to walk away, the windows of the taxi open, and the man calls her. She looks back at him. "Remember, don't fight back. Just run." The man says as he throws a book at Emilia. She catches it. "Read that. It'll help you." He adds. He closes the window, and leaves. Emilia a.n.a.lyzes the book. It looks like a journal. Suddenly, a voice comes out of the speaker. "The last train to Limbasa is about to leave in 2 minutes." Emilia places the book in her bag and runs towards the ticket booth. She quickly buys a ticket and runs to the station where it'll be stopping. Luckily, she arrives on time. She rests on the ground and breathes for air. A few seconds later, the train arrives. She stands up and enters the train. However, she feels as if something is out of place... She could not identify what it was, but she just shook it off. She takes a seat and prepares for the 4-hour trip. She looked around and was amazed by how beautiful the train looked. It felt like home. She looked at her ticket to see where her room was. "Room 12, neat." She says to herself. She stands up from the chair and walks to her room. She opened the door and was speechless. The room was very clean, and there were drinks prepared for her. She saw a note beside the drinks, and read it. "A little gift. -James." She didn't know who James was. She threw the note in the bin and opened one of the drinks. She sat down, and drank it. She was enjoying her time until she remembered the book. She pulls it out of her bag and opens it. On the first page, there was some sort of code she couldn't understand. She just ignored it and went to the next page. She began reading it. "These ent.i.ties have the power to kill its host and the person who also has an ent.i.ty. These are called the "Others"..." However, she was interrupted by a weird vibration. The train was shaking non-stop. She puts the book into her bag and goes out to see what's happening. The other pa.s.sengers were also confused too. She approaches an old lady and taps her shoulder. "Excuse me, what is happening?" She asked the confused lady. "I don't know, dear." The old lady replied. The shaking then stopped. Everyone looked at each other, seemingly confused. A voice then comes out of the speakers. "Attention, everyone. It has come to my attention that all of you in here have an "Other". I cannot allow this to happen, so all of you..." It said. "Fight to the death." It added. There was silence. n.o.body was moving.. but then the exit behind them opened. They looked behind. An "Other" was dragging its host body. The body was covered in bruises, cuts, and holes. The "Other" chops off the head and rolls it on the floor like a bowling ball. It landed on Emilia's feet. She looked down at the eyes of the dead person and looked back again at the "Other". It points its blade at her and gives a big smile. "YOU'RE NEXT." It screeches. "Not again.." She looks behind her, to see more people lay dead on the ground, with their "Others" fighting each other. "d.a.m.n this train." She says.
