Beast Mutation 19 Ch. 17 Slave

Even after seeing him apologize, Leah was still angry with him and just turned around, entering the door behind the counter as she didn't want to see his face right now.

"What was that all about?" Karol asked with a confused face as he didn't understand why did she get angry over that. Hearing his question, Alan realizes that he didn't know anything about the past.

"You know that right that slaves also have rights of their own, and their lives are also important to the country." Alan said, looking at Karol. Hearing that Karol just nodded his head as he also knows that slaves have some rights such as you can't hit the unless it is self-defense or you will get fined if you killed your slave and lastly if the slave collected enough money then they can release themselves from that status.

"But 13 years ago, it was not used to be like that as at those times; people just consider slave as some tool to vent their anger on or just to satisfy their s.e.xual desires." Alan said with a disgusted voice as he hates those people who treat a slave like that.

Hearing that Karol was surprised as he didn't know the conditions of slaves 13 years ago were like that, "So, how did it change." Karol asked as he wanted to know that. Hearing that, Alan just smiled.

"No one knows as 13 years ago; the king decided to pa.s.s this law for slaves suddenly." Alan said as no one knows as to why the king decided to do that. "I understand that, but why did Big sis Leah get angry over that." Karol asked, as even though he was disgusted by those people, but it should not be enough to get that much anger over that.

"14 years ago, her family was killed by a group of bandits, and they left her alive and sold her to a lady of a n.o.ble family." Alan said with a sad face. "But that's just not enough, as that n.o.ble lady used to torture her every day and at those times, she was just 12 years old, she was highly traumatized by that and hated those who buy slaves, but she was able to get out of that slave status due to that new slave law." Alan said that with a sigh.

Hearing that Karol was sad as he didn't expect that the Leah, who was always cheerful, has a bad past like that. "Don't show that expression in front of her, as she hated those who sympathize with her." Alan said with a serious face. Hearing that, Karol just nodded his face.

After the conversation between them, both of them stood there silently for a few minutes, when suddenly Leah exits the back door and enter the counter once again. Before both of them could say anything, she gave Karol a note and said, "It is the location of the slave shop in this town."

Hearing that, Karol was surprised as he didn't expect that from her. Seeing his reaction, Leah suddenly realized and looked towards Alan with a sharp gaze and asked, "Did you tell him that." Hearing her question, Alan just nodded his head and said in a small voice, "He was just curious."

"Well, we can't do anything about do anything about that, but listen here Karol, don't ever sympathize with my past as I hate it." Leah said with a stern voice, and looking at her, Karol just nodded.

"But I cannot understand as to why did you give me this." Karol asked Leah about the address. "Oh, that, there are two reasons, first is the slave law, and the second is your mother." Leah said, looking at Karol.

Karol didn't understand what his mother has to do with this. "The second reason is your mother because I have known her for almost eight years, and with her personality, she will surely treat the slave as her child." Leah said as she knew what Karol was going to ask.

There is another reason she said as his mother also knows that Leah was used to be a slave, but even after that, she didn't treat Leah any differently, but she didn't tell him that as she didn't want anyone to know about that.

"Thank you, Big Sister Leah." Karol said with respect after learning about her past. Hearing that, Leah just smiled. "I will be going now. Bye." Karol said, bowing towards Alan and Leah.

"Hey, say, what do you think his future will be." Alan suddenly asked, looking at Leah. Hearing that, Leah replied, "I am sure he become a great adventurer." Hearing that, Alan was surprised as Alan also thought the same thing.

"Don't look surprised as even you know, what happened with those who pa.s.sed that test." Leah said, looking towards Alan. Hearing that, Alan nodded with a small smile as he liked that kid. "Say, wanna head after work to have a drink or two." Alan suddenly said, looking at Leah.

"F*** You as I have still not forgiven for your word earlier." Leah said, looking at Alan with a small smile. "Please forgive me." He said as he didn't want her to hate him. Seeing him like that, Leah suddenly started laughing. "I will think about forgiving you." Leah said with an amused face.

While Karol was exiting the guild, many adventurers were looking at him with gazes filled with appreciation as an adventurer appreciates those with exceptional talents. But there was also some gaze that was filled with hostility as there were some who hate people talented than them.
