Every year all eight planets align themselves around the sun, once all planets reach its designated location, a galaxy-wide spell is summoned. The spell absorbs the energy from s.p.a.ce and is condensed into elemental energies, those energies can be absorbed by an elemental altar that has an area equivalent to two football pitch, shaped into a circle with a crystal-tip stone staff stabbed in the center. The origin of the altar remains unknown.

Since ancient times, humans have been building civilization near the altar. The city that Xiao Yang is living in is called DongHe City from the Dong-Min Continent, the continent is ruled by Emperor Dong Li.

Cities are also labeled in Cla.s.ses, this means that the city reaches the requirement to become a higher cla.s.s:

Cla.s.s-E City required at least 60 Cla.s.s-E Mage as residents.

Cla.s.s-D City required at least 40 Cla.s.s-D Mage residents.

DongHe City is a Cla.s.s-D City, with a population of over twenty thousand, but still, it has a long way to go before transforming into a Cla.s.s-C City. Those who are Cla.s.s-C mage normally leave the city to find a better life for themselves.

Xiao Yang was standing in the city square among many of the young generations of the city, many audiences were seated on the stone stairs that are built around the city square. There was also a balcony reserved for the city lord and many of the Cla.s.s-C mages. Qian Xian's dad was also among the Cla.s.s-C mages upon the balcony.

Ten minutes later, the planets finally arrived at their designated location and the spell is cast which prompts the altar to appear at the city square. Everyone was to take turns going upon the altar, once they are up there, they are required to hold onto the staff, when the staff lights up the colour that it creates will represent the elements the person receives.

After ten-minutes, many people had already received their elements and now it was Xiao Yang's turn. Xiao Yang walked up to the altar and held the staff with both of his hands.

Everyone was antic.i.p.ated with his result as they all know that he had the worst test result in the city for the annual school exam.

When Xiao Yang held the staff, he felt a large bulb of energy vibrating in his pocket, it was the blue crystal orb. For some reason, it started vibrating in his pocket and after five minutes the vibration stopped, but throughout this time the crystal-tip on the staff remained clear.

Many of the observers thought he failed to receive an element, which caused them to burst out in unison.

"Ha! I told you that trash won't be able to receive an element!"

"He is the only one so far that failed to receive an element this year!"
