The first stage, written exam.

The written exam tests the student on their fundamental understanding of an element, you are allowed to choose more than one element to be tested on, but since there wasn't any reward doing so nor would it affect the final academic score, Xiao Yang only just picked one randomly.

"Xiao Yang, is that a B-Cla.s.s Revolver?" Fang Qiong asked curiously, revolvers that are at D-Cla.s.s was already extremely rare.

Xiao Yang nodded and replied, "Don't underestimate it's power though"

"Huh? Ain't these type of weapons are the weakest among the weakest weapons?" Qian Fei asked looking confused. Even if the revolver was a B-Cla.s.s, it's power should be the weakest among the other B-Cla.s.ses.

"You'll see it when the second stage of the exam starts." Xiao Yang replied with a sly smile.

The second stage, beasts hunting.

The day after the written exam, the students all met up on the gathering grounds again. In this exam, the students are allowed to team up together and teleport to the same location by the array.

Thunderbolt Forest is a dangerous place and this time the elders added a few Cla.s.s elemental beasts into the student exclusive areas. So to ensure the safety of the student, each student is given a crystal bead containing a spell in it that teleports the student out of the forest when the bead is broken.

Students were also given a map to track their location in the forest, each beast cla.s.s zones are also labelled onto the map.

Each student must obtain at least 20 B-Cla.s.s elemental cores by tomorrow morning. 1 Cla.s.s elemental cores will be equivalent to 10 B-Cla.s.s elemental cores.

The students also get to keep the cores at the end of the exam.

There were many who teamed up to create a large hunting group, they had also offered to invite Xiao Yang and the others to join them, but they ultimately refused and just stayed as a small group themselves.

The main reason was that Xiao Yang strongly refused to join them.

"Brother Chen, are you sure that we shouldn't join them?" Qian Fei asked she was worried that the other large groups would outnumber them and rob them off elemental cores.

Having a large group would have the advantage of outnumbering the beasts and you will also be protected by the group from others robbing you. However, such a large group would be hard to control, civil war could occur when they disagree with each other of how to split the elemental cores and tools gained.

The advantages would just turn into disadvantages, and this is why Xiao Yang strongly disagree with joining them.

The students stepped onto the teleportal platform in groups then the elders activated the array which randomly teleport the groups to a different location of Thunderbolt Forest.

Xiao Yang was able to detect the a few powerful auras nearby, it must have been the academy's elders. The elders are secretly monitoring the students to ensure their safety, especially after releasing the Cla.s.s beasts into the area.

Upon checking the map, Xiao Yang was able to found out that they were teleported somewhere near the outskirts of the forest, it was also not that far from the zone containing Cla.s.s elemental beasts.

"I think we should hunt down Cla.s.s beasts to acc.u.mulate the cores much faster." Xiao Yang suggested, If they were to just hunt down C-Cla.s.s elemental beast then in total the group would have to kill at least, 80 beasts, also if the beast dropped elemental tools then it wouldn't drop any cores along with it.

"Isn't that too dangerous?" Qian Fei asked.

Xiao Yang shook his head, "There's nothing to be worried about, the elders will be heavily monitoring that area."

"But even so, do we have enough firepower to take down one?" Fang Qiong asked.

"Cough!... Sorry." Dong Zhou suddenly coughed out to prevent himself from laughing. He had seen Xiao Yang taking down four Cla.s.s mages before, so taking down Cla.s.s beasts shouldn't be much of a problem for them.
