The afternoon pa.s.sed much slower for Yu Chang, he couldn't help but feel the icy daggers that Fang Tian shot his way occasionally after returning from lunch. He wasn't sure why she was so pressed to be with him. He just saw her as a friend and fellow cla.s.smate, he had never really thought about relations.h.i.+ps beyond that.

The afternoon dragged on and finally, the end of cla.s.s came. "That will be all for today cla.s.s. Remember that starting Monday, there will be an additional cla.s.s period after normal cla.s.ses are over."

Yu Chang gathered his things and started for the door. As Fang Tian approached him, the door burst open. "Little Yu, are you ready to go?" Falling Star called out to him casually with impeccable timing. He really didn't want to face Fang Tian right now while she was in a foul mood.

"All set Master Star." He headed to the door swiftly and walked out with Falling Star.

"How was cla.s.s?"

"Rather boring. Today was mostly a review day. We have tests coming up next week so we've been reviewing recent material."

"Do you need study time? How are your grades currently?"

"I should be fine. I'm top of the cla.s.s in all subjects. I had to put in extra effort to get to this point due to my situation. I've basically been teaching myself the materials ahead of time." The two left the school building and Falling Star brought Yu Chang back to her house.

"Put your things away and freshen up, if we take much longer I'm bound to get an ear full from my parents."

"I'll be quick then."

Meanwhile at Twin Peaks Sect...

Fang Tian just arrived back at the sect headquarters and couldn't hold back her anger any longer. "I don't care if she's a cultivation genius, she is getting in my way!"

"What's wrong?" Her father looked at his precious daughter, who was always calm and collected, throwing a fit and couldn't help but feel worried.

"Falling Star took Yu Chang as her disciple. He's mine! No one else is allowed to have him, but now all he has time for is her." She paced around her father's s.p.a.cious office as she ranted. "She is even taking him to meet her parents like they are some kind of official couple or something."

Peak Master Fang sighed. "If you want him that badly, invite him to join the sect."

Fang Tian smiled and leaped into her father's arms. "Father you're the best!"

While Fang Tian plotted to rope in Yu Chang, he was on his way to meet Falling Star's parents. Falling Star's car pulled in to the driveway of a lavish mansion. The driveway was bordered with ma.s.sive cherry trees, although they weren't in bloom the sight was still spectacular. Falling Star pulled the car to a stop in front of the pristine white porch where a butler waited for their arrival. As the two exited the car the butler came down to greet them.

"Mistress Star, the Master and Madam are in the main room and have tea ready."

"Thank you, Houskeeper Yang, we'll head inside then." Falling Star took Yu Chang's hand and led him inside the mansion. Inside, the mansion there was a dazzling display of bright colors. The bright red carpet ran the length of the hallway lined with various artwork and pillars that displayed many artifacts. The two walked down the hall and pa.s.sed through a pair of gilded doors. On the other side of the doors was a very normal looking family room with several couches and chares spread out comfortably. In the middle of the room sat a smiling couple awaiting their arrival.

"Look dear, they're already holding hands." The woman who appeared like a shorter version of Falling Star covered her mouth gracefully as if she had said too much.

The man glanced at her and laughed. "Ah, their relations.h.i.+p seems to be moving much faster than ours did back then. Welcome home Little Star!" The man stood and walked towards Falling Star and Yu Chang. "How should I address you young man?"

"Ah, Senior Dragon, you can call me Yu Chang." Yu Chang stumbled over his words as he stretched out a hand in greeting to Falling Star's father.

"No need to be so formal, you can just call me father if you'd like Little Yu."

"DAD!" Falling Star yelled in embarra.s.sment.

"Dad works too," her father responded casually with a smile.

"Dear, I think our daughter will die of embarra.s.sment if you keep this up." The woman who had been sitting with Falling Star's father walked over and joined the conversation. "It's nice to meet you Little Yu, you can call me mother if you'd like." Falling Star's mother reached out and hugged Yu Chang without warning.

"Please just kill me..." Falling Star grumbled.

"What's this I hear about Little Star having a man?" a third voice called out from behind.

"Aunt Jia!" Falling Star rushed over and hugged her aunt that looked exactly like her mother, except she wore a white lab coat instead of a fancy gown. "All I did was find a promising disciple and mom and dad are treating him as if we're already married."

"Already? That's an interesting way of saying it, does that mean you're considering marrying him in the future?"

Yu Chang, who was the center of the commotion had quietly backed off to the side and watched as things developed at an unnatural pace. 'Marriage? Husband? There is no way that could be possible right?' In this room filled with legends, those were the only things his mind could process.
