At Spring-Autumn's residence.

Rainmist couldn't sleep well. She could not get used to being alone in the outside world. In this world, there was always a possibility of danger. She did not like the thought of relying on Spring-Autumn too much but this was one of the cases where she needed him.

There was only the m.u.f.fled sound of the wind that can be heard at night. Outside the window, the glow of the moon was ever-present.

She was alone in the bed where they connected. Even she did not know what she was feeling. Was it comfort? Care? Affection? Regret? Pain? She did not know.

All she knew was that she felt better with herself knowing that there was someone she could fall back on. Her mind went blank.

There was the sound of a door downstairs opening.

Rainmist's mind cleared and without knowing it, she was already downstairs.

In front of her was Spring-Autumn. His brown hair, his green eyes. His usual white blouse was dyed with spots of red blood.

She couldn't help but rush to him, holding his hand.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Are you injured?"

Spring-Autumn only looked at her weirdly and smirked, "What's wrong with you? Did you fall for me?"

His voice acted like a calming agent on her. Rainmist's mind returned back to its calm and she replied with a smile. "What's wrong with me showing care for you?"

Spring-Autumn ignored the question and walked over to the kitchen. "I thought you would be asleep,"

"I can't sleep alone anymore after a certain someone s.e.xually hara.s.sed me," Rainmist twisted her body and teased Spring-Autumn.

Spring-Autumn chuckled weirdly and took out a chopping board. His hand dug through his cloak and he took out a piece of meat.

"What's that?"

"It's minotaur meat," Spring-Autumn said blankly.

He was a petty man. After suffering huge injuries from the sword, he turned his anger to the minotaur. A part of his venting is to eat its meat.

"Half man, half bull?" Rainmist was knowledgeable about myths and asked.

"Yes. I would a.s.sume it to taste like beef."

Spring-Autumn flattened the meat and transformed his cloak into a knife, chopping the minotaur meat into pieces.

"Are you hungry?" He asked.

"I think I'll pa.s.s on this…" Rainmist but stayed to watch Spring-Autumn cook.

Spring-Autumn took out a pan and some season. He began to season the minotaur meat with salt and pepper.

The pan heated up in the meanwhile. Spring-Autumn followed the basic steps one would take to cook a steak.

The meat sizzled when it entered the pan. He took out a piece of b.u.t.ter that he looted from a grocery store and began to baste the steak.

Rosemary, thyme, garlic.

A mouthwatering aroma began to waft into the air. Spring-Autumn flipped the steak over and saw a beautiful sear.

The cooking was soon finished. He took out a plate and served the steak then he placed it to the side. The steak would require some resting.

Spring-Autumn took the pan over to the sink. On the way, he turned over to look at Rainmist and said, "Women likes a good man who can cook,"

Rainmist smiled and said, "Did you watch one too many rom-com?"

"I a.s.sume it to be the case with you looking at me like that," Spring-Autumn said and began to scrub the pan.

There was a sizzling sound when water made contact with the hot pan.

After he was done, he returned to his steak and served it on the table. He sat across from Rainmist and took out a fork and spoon.

"Minotaur steak," Spring-Autumn introduced the meal to himself.

His fork easily sank into the meat and his knife cut through like b.u.t.ter. There was a good balance of fat and lean meat.

From his previous experience with mutated animal meat, the meat would naturally be more soft and delicious. He was not sure if he should cla.s.sify minotaurs in the same category as a mutated animal but it seemed the same concept applied to it.

The meat was cooked to a medium-rare. Another thought he had while he was cooking the meat was if it would take longer to cook because of the toughness of the meat. However, all the toughness disappeared when the minotaur died. This made it not a problem to cook it like a regular steak.

He lifted up his fork, exposing the juicy meat. He took a good whiff of the smell and placed it in his mouth.

The soft texture, the perfect amount of fat, the way it melted in his mouth. The taste became extra good when he imagined what kind of expression the minotaur would make if it knew it was eating its corpse.

"Is it good?" Rainmist asked from the side. She was still looking at him weirdly.

Spring-Autumn swallowed the meat before talking. He was a man with good manners and it was not good to talk with food in one's mouth.

"It's good," Spring-Autumn said simply.

As soon as he answered, his hands were already moving to cut the next piece.

"Can I try?"

Spring-Autumn looked up slowly.

"Sure."

Rainmist opened her mouth. "Ah."

Spring-Autumn didn't move.

"You have to feed me," She reminded him.

"You are more than a decade older than me," Spring-Autumn also reminded her.

"It's your job to take care of me."

Spring-Autumn finally caved in and fed her. He cut off a small piece and lifted his fork into her mouth.

As a pure innocent boy, it was hard for him to turn down the request of a woman like Rainmist. The way her hands were properly tucked under the table. The way she closed her eyes, opening her mouth. Her nightgown clung tightly to her curvy body.

Rainmist chewed on the meat and her eyes lit up with satisfaction. There was also a startled look in her eye as she looked at the s.p.a.ce in front of her.

Spring-Autumn a.s.sumed it to be notification of her stats going up.

"Did you get stronger?" He asked.

"Yeah,"

"Okay,"

"Is that normal?"

"Probably,"

"Can I have more?"

"You turned me down when I first asked…"

"Did that happen?" She said innocently.

"I'll cook more for you later…"

"Okay!"
