Miya was stressed out. She had only ever seen schools from outside. She had never set foot into one before. And now that she had to, it freaked her out.

Why did Jimmy want to take her anyway?!

Couldn't he just go with Ben alone? She was so sure she would screw this up!

Not to mention, what would she wear? And which school was this, that Jimmy was going to get Ben enrolled into? She knew it through and through, it would be some school that outdid the entire universe when it came to education!

Because Jimmy Hunter was just too rich!

Right then though, she couldn't hold a grudge against him regarding the fact.

She considered putting on a jeans and simple tee. But that would make her look underage, so she contemplated on an old dungaree. That too seemed juvenile, so she simply went through her minor collection of clothes and fretted over them all.

What did mothers wear to school?

What would make her seem like mommy?

She was going to die of thinking too much!

Miya spread out all her clothes on the bed, then shoved them into the wardrobe all at once. Then sighing, she thought of a possible ally.

Mr. Park.

But… he had been so mad at her before… Then –

Charlie? The thought somehow sent a chill down her spine.

The Chairman? Oh, no.

Rebecca? Well… their equation right now was kind of tumultuous.

Miya sighed, all hope escaping her body. And the half hour that Jimmy had warned her about earlier, she realized, was going to be up soon too.

Just then though, a slight knock echoed through her room. Miya froze up instinctively – she recognized the footsteps.

It was Becky.

Rebecca didn't wait for Miya to respond as she entered the room, sipping on a can of c.o.ke. She saw her junior's back tense up as Becky approached Miya, making her sigh deeply. When Miya felt Rebecca's presence too close to herself, she mustered her courage and turned around.

"Sis –" she began.

Rebecca put a long, thin finger coldly on her lips. Then without uttering a word, as Miya impulsively closed her mouth, Becky fixed her gaze on the girl's small face. Their eyes met and she stared at Miya for a long while. All this time, she didn't stop sipping on her cola.

It only took a second, for Miya's own eyes to turn from apologetic to defiant. She looked back at Becky boldly, her eyes carrying a hint of rebellion.

It was the catch of that hint that finally made Rebecca withdraw her finger from Miya's lips and break into a small smile.

This girl hadn't changed.

Back then too, thirteen years ago, she had carried with herself a bundle of secrets that she never shared. She was secretive, but reliable. And rebellious – just like she stood before Becky right now.

It warmed Rebecca to the core, reminding her of a happier time. It made her feel relieved that something – someone, back from those days, was still alive and in front of her.

She didn't know what to feel about Miya though. She was still the same, but a lot had changed as well.

Rebecca owed this little girl her life.

Sighing, the older woman stretched out her hand, offering the can of c.o.ke to Miya.

Miya's gaze s.h.i.+fted. Her heart dropped, and then pounded in joy.

It was an offering of peace!

Rebecca had been drinking directly from the can! And it was a thing between them, they'd always share the same bottle on their night outs, when they smoked like maniacs or got wasted together.

Miya took the can from her with both hands, grateful for it, and gulped down the liquid in one go. She then wiped her mouth with the corner of her sleeve.

Rebecca grinned, then made a 'Tsk' sound.

"That exactly," she frowned, "You shouldn't be doing, punk. The Chairman told me you're going to Ben's school. I thought you might need my help."

Okay…

Miya's tear ducts were at work again.

She felt her throat well up, and her eyes nearly brimmed with tears. She slapped herself mentally for it, of course, but the small gesture from Becky still made her very happy. In her heart she thanked the girl a hundred times for not asking a single question, and still coming back to her side.

She was as supportive as she had been all of those years ago. Even when Miya had said she was going to run away from the Freeman house – Becky had never asked her why. That kind of unrestricted trust was rare.

And Miya was thankful for it.

She cleared her throat.

"I – I don't know what to wear, sis."

Rebecca nodded, walking to her closet. When she pulled open the door and saw the clothes all huddled together in a messed up ball, the girl rolled her eyes.

"I can see that," she replied.

Miya pursed her lips in embarra.s.sment.

For quite a while. Becky simply sorted through her clothes, frowning at them all. Every now and then, she also gave Miya a disapproving look, which Miya thought somehow resembled the Chairman's. The thought made her laugh.

Rebecca's eyes shot up.

"And what is so funny?"

"N- Nothing, sis."

It was only when Becky was about to leave and rummage through her own clothes, that her eyes fell on two packages that were lying in the bottommost shelf. Shrugging, she pulled them out.

Her interest piqued when she saw the logo of 'Handwritten' on both the packs.

Tearing them open, Rebecca was touched at the sight of one. The second one made her flinch.

It was gross!

Miya, too, remembered the two dresses.

They were the ones from the Chairman!

It must have been a maid, who had put the dresses in her closet, because Miya herself couldn't recall bringing them over. But she remembered the dresses: one was the creepy looking limited edition dress that the old Hunter had bought while giving her his weird lessons. Somehow, it looked worse now.

Even Rebecca seemed crept out by it.

The second was the one that the old man had genuinely liked.

Rebecca shoved aside the limited edition, it was hurting her eyes, but picked out the second one. It was a light pink in shade. The older girl held it up in her hands and smiled.

"Perfect," she muttered.

Miya's brows twitched.

A good fifteen minutes later, Miya was ready.

And she was awed.

She looked… different.

Wonderfully different…

Becky was a magician!

The dress was an exquisite pink, with half sleeves and a high waist lace up. It ended slightly below her knees, but was slit on the left leg, tastefully exposing the skin above her left knee. It hugged her body naturally too, making Miya look rather attractive and mature.

Rebecca was once again delighted by her work.

Miya had completely transformed!

"You should let me do this to you more often," Becky grinned, enclosing a gold shade bracelet in her right wrist, "You weren't this gorgeous even at the masquerade party. I'm your fairy G.o.dmother, Cinderella. You better thank me endlessly!"

Miya grinned, blus.h.i.+ng slightly at that.

She knew she looked very different and wonderful… but there was still one question in her mind. She voiced it to Becky rather nervously.

"Um… Thank you, sis. But are you sure I look like a mommy? I'm going to Ben's school."

Rebecca sighed.

This woman was an idiot!

She gave Miya one final look, clicked a quick picture, and then folded her arms across her chest.

"Okay, Miya," she then said gravely, "I'm saying this as a third party – think of me as a random pedestrian if you will, who has no interest in your husband whatsoever."

Eh?

"Miya – have you looked at Jimmy Hunter? I mean, really looked at him? That man is gorgeous enough to make you want to drop dead!"

Miya frowned. What was Becky's point?

And what did she mean by 'have you looked at Jimmy Hunter'? Well of course she had looked at him! And of course he was the epitome of beauty! That was the number one reason she had begun to be attracted to the man anyway! His face was flawless, and Miya held a grudge against him for it.

Well… a slight grudge.

Rebecca had clutched Miya's shoulders now, as if readying her for war.

"Miya," the girl said sombrely, "You're my little one, of course I can't let you lose! This is officially your first public appearance with Jimmy Hunter and your son. Even if it's just a school, it's the best in Country I! Have you heard of Raven International?"

Miya's jaw dropped.

What!

Raven High?!

Rebecca quickly nodded, putting her hand beneath Miya's chin and closing her mouth, "Yes, it's where most of the technocrats and businessmen right now finished their schooling from. Even my father was a pa.s.s out! I never made the cut… but, yes! You have to be absolutely ravis.h.i.+ng if you're going with Jimmy Hunter. My junior sister won't lose to any man! Outs.h.i.+ne him today, Miya, kill him with your extreme beauty!"

Miya burst out laughing.

Becky… she was so extreme!

Miya looked closely at the woman who was displeased with her laugh, and remembered all those years ago, when she had disapproved of any girl being bullied by a guy. Hence why she had trained them to fight.

It had been a while since Miya had seen this side of hers. It felt rather nice.

Quickly consoling the older girl, Miya held her hand and said, "Yes, yes, sis. I understand. I have to be presentable, because my boys happen to be gorgeous."

Rebecca's fighting spirit was back, and her eyes shone.

"Yes, yes! I was going to mention Ben next! The boy is handsome too! And your husband… You have to – "

"Kill them all?"

Becky squinted her eyes, and Miya burst out laughing again. Rebecca frowned, then nudged the smaller girl and smiled as well.

Miya shrugged, giving herself one final glance.

Well, Rebecca was the more experienced one when it came to matters like dressing up. She was going to trust her decision.

However, Miya was pretty sure about one thing.

Extreme beauty or not… she knew it well that somehow, she had managed to kill Jimmy Hunter either way.

The thought made her blush, her heart flutter, and she chuckled happily.

She was going to school!
