Haruno smiled and observed the scene that would unfold now. Shanks looked at Luffy and laughed for some seconds, then with a stunned expression and he asked: "What are you eating? That box... Did you eat what was inside that box?" Luffy looked at him confused and with a 'hum', answered his question. The same scene as in the anime happened, Shanks grabbed Luffy's legs, shaking him and said: "Spit it out! Spit it out now! Everything!" Luffy was being shaken by Shanks and with a confused expression, he asked: "W-what are you doing Shanks?" 

Suddenly, his legs stretched like rubber and Luffy fell flat on his face. With his now red face, Luffy asked: "What was that?" Shanks looked at him and said: "What you ate was a Gomu Gomu no Mi! The Gomu Gomu no Mi is one of the Ak.u.ma no Mis! After eating it, you became a rubber man! You will never be able to swim again!" then Luffy shouted: "Impossible!" Shanks shouted too: "Idiot!!!" 

The exchange was was very funny to see from the side, and the day basically ended there. Shanks and his crew left the bar while Luffy stayed behind. He stayed there, talking with Makino, he asked about Haruno and Makino said what she knew, which wasn't a lot more than his name. Meanwhile, Haruno was cleaning the tables and collecting the plates off them, Makino smiled at Haruno and said: "Thank you, Haruno. You can go play with Luffy if you want." Haruno nodded and left the bar, Luffy followed behind him. While walking, Luffy was talking about Shanks and his admiration for him. He already completely forgot the matter of the devil fruit... 

Haruno was listening to Luffy and walking toward Goryu's and Chicken's UO Fish store to buy fish. On the way, they found the mayor of Foosha Village, Woop Slap. Woop looked at Haruno and Luffy and greeted them when they arrived at Goryu's Fish Store, Chicken greeted Luffy as well and asked: "Who is this little boy beside you?" Luffy looked at Haruno and responded: "Oh! This is... What is your name...?" Haruno almost face slapped himself, then with a stiff smile he replied: "Haruno. Haruki D. Haruno. Pleased to meet you." 

After buying some fishes, Haruno asked: "Luffy... Can i try something?" Luffy nodded and Haruno grabbed his ear and pulled it. The ear stretched like rubber and when Haruno let his ear go, it returned easily to its original position. Haruno smiled and said: "You really are a rubber man..." Luffy forgot about it so when he saw that his ear returned to its place, he screamed in panic, making Haruno laugh. 

Luffy left for his house and Haruno did as well, he did what he needed to do and went to his room upstairs. In his room, Haruno decided to try something, he grabbed the knife that he had used to eat and focused on it, He felt a terrible headache a.s.saulting him and he fainted. The next morning, when he woke up, his head still hurt from the backlash, but it was now manageable at least. He got downstairs to help Mikano when he saw that the mountain bandit's boss was there, staring at Mikano. He asked: "Where is that brat?" Mikano didn't want to answer the question so she simply shook her head in an attempt to deny it. Angered, the boss was going to slap her. At this moment, Haruno throws a plate to his face, breaking it. When the bandit looked at him, a murderous intent could be seen in his eyes. With a sarcastic smile, Haruno taunted: "So you came again... Do you want me to smooth talk you again ? If you want this... Catch me!"

After saying his piece, he jumped into a nearby window, breaking it. When he landed outside the bar, he started to run toward the port. In the original story, the one who provoked the bandits was Luffy, but because of Haruno, they entered the bar before it was open. Now, he needs to take them to the same place as the plot, hopefully it would work out. Rus.h.i.+ng toward the port, on the way he met Luffy, he looked at Haruno and started running with him. He asked: "Why are you running?" Haruno looked at him while running as fast as his, now small, legs could carry him and answered: "Mountain Bandits, behind me." when Luffy looked behind himself, he saw the mountain bandit's boss and his minions running behind them. When Haruno arrived at the port he couldn't run anymore, he was just exhausted. 

Haruno was going to say something to distract his opponents, but the bandit boss punched him immediately. The bandit boss then shouted with an angry expression: "You chose the wrong words, kid." This was what he said to Luffy in the original story... While Haruno was thinking about it, he heard a *ding* and a new screen appeared before him:

[New Quest!]

[Objective: Make sure that Luffy falls in the sea and that Shanks saves him.]

The bandit boss continued: "n.o.body who made me mad is alive to tell the story." Haruno just focused on his quest, the mayor was currently begging for his and Luffy's life, like in the original story Shanks appeared and Lucky Boo killed a bandit, then Benn Beckman attacked the minions and etc. The smoke bomb was thrown, he immediatly grabbed Luffy's hand and held tight. The bandit boss threw him and Luffy in the boat and they were now in the ocean. He then said: "I escaped easily! I never thought that a mountain bandit would ever flee using the sea!" his hands were holding Luffy's s.h.i.+rt, lifting him. Luffy began to shake and said: "Kuso! Let me go! You stupid mountain monkey! Why don't you just die?" The bandit then sneered and said: "Idiot! You are the one who's going to die! This kid angered me and you are going to die as well! Goodbye." with this last sentence, he threw Luffy in the sea. Haruno shouted: "Luffy!" and jumped in the sea to save him, Luffy was an Ak.u.ma no Mi user, he couldn't swim! 

The bandit laughed seeing his second victim throw himself in the water and said: "I'm sorry! You two meats.h.i.+elds don't have any use to me now!" after saying this, the bandit started to laugh. Behind him, a monster's head appeared, the same sea king that attacked Luffy appeared now! The bandit was devoured alive, ending his life instantly. Haruno was trying to save Luffy and behind him, the same sea king was now rus.h.i.+ng toward them. Haruno just felt something move behind their backs and suddenly blood was soiling in the water, behind him, Shanks was there, an arm missing. The sea king looked at Shanks and its whole body began to shake in fear. Haruno thought that it was an illusion, but he heard a voice in his head: "Help me! A... A king!" Shanks just looked at the sea king and said: "Get the h.e.l.l out of here." it was... Haosoku no Haki!
