The employee's greeted Caesar with bubbling excitement. All of them had felt special to be apart of the center of attention. The large and elegant building ama.s.sed recognition from many of the citizens, causing the group employees to become the target of envy.

Not only did they work directly under the respected crowned prince, but they also got to work in such a refurbished building. Gleeful smiles were plastered on their faces as they followed Caesar into the building, one at a time.

The interior didn't lose out to the exterior in the slightest. The floors were covered in a sky-blue carpet and the walls were painted in a pleasant, tannish color. Many different offices of varying sizes and quality showcased themselves on the sides.

At the end of the building, a luxurious staircase was present. It led up to Caesar's and Veronicas office. The workers were deathly curious as to how they looked, but they held themselves back in fear of embarra.s.sing themselves. Instead, they continued to observe the bottom floor.

As normal people who had initially worked for Caesar due to the lack of open jobs in Rahvin kingdom, they were extremely satisfied. Many of the elves had taken the jobs from the humans, as such, it was much harder to make a living in Rahvin kingdom; such was the fate of an overpopulated city.

After a few more minutes of looking around, Caesar finally showed them the upper floor. Seven abnormally prepossessing offices were present. They looked much better than the offices downstairs and the several employees could only salivate in jealousy.

"These five extra offices will be a.s.signed to the top five employees of the month," Caesar explained, "Those who work harder will naturally be awarded as such… in contrast, those who produce sub-par results will move to the neighboring building."

As he spoke to here, the workers immediately dreaded the fact that they were essentially competing with each other at all times. However, the thought of winning one of the s.p.a.cious offices upstairs caused their eyes to burn with determination.

The corner of Caesar's lips curled as he saw their reaction. He used this method in his past life, though unethical, it worked marvelously. Humans would instinctively tire themselves out due to compet.i.tion, performing better than the norm.

His arrogant smile once again played on his lips as he gave the workers a few more simple instructions. "Veronica will inform you of the rest," he said, "she already has already prepared a few stacks of doc.u.ments for the rest of you," Caesar said whilst exiting the building, he had a few more things he needed to do.

The workers nodded their heads and rapidly sat down at their respective desks, patiently waiting for Veronica's arrival. Caesar savored the feeling of solemnity within the office and couldn't help but feel nostalgic.

His past workers also started like this. They were unbelievably excited until they realized how much effort they were putting forward. Many large corporations disdained his techniques, but none of them could recreate the efficiency any other way.

Slowly, his way of doing things became the norm, ushering the business world into a new era. His brother too tried to replicate Caesar's grand performance, alas, he failed miserably. Sometimes it was better to remain in a shadow, you can live peacefully that way.

After reminiscing about such troublesome memories, Caesar soon broke out of his stupor and bade the employees farewell. He pa.s.sed by Veronica's weary figure as he walked out of the door. Bags could be seen under her eyes and her skin was abnormally pale.

"We need more executives…" She said right away, throwing away all forms of formalities and pleasantries. The exhaustion she faced as of late was uncanny. All of the important doc.u.ments that Caesar didn't do, she was forced to complete.

In response, Caesar chuckled, "I would gladly hire a few more people, alas, our orders are overdue and we can't afford to pay another high salary" he paused as he tapped his chin with his index finger, "once we sell a few more batches of completed crossbows and trebuchets, I give you permission to promote one or two more executives."

Once he spoke to here, he walked past the tired Veronica before stopping a few feet away, "ah, one more thing," he said whilst turning around, "I'll be leaving Rahvin kingdom in around a week, hold the fort down while I'm gone!" he said slyly and quickly escaped from the area.

As he ran away, he could hear a stream of curses from behind him. Caesar, of course, was thankful to Veronica. She showed superb talent in business, negotiations, and handling money. She was the perfect right-hand man and Caesar was quite impressed with her.

Naturally, he couldn't simply remain in Rahvin kingdom and help her, even if he wanted to. Dangers surrounded the kingdom and it was his duty to solve them. Whether or not he was capable of doing so, that was debatable.

Thinking to here, he gazed upon at the cloud-filled sky, a gust of wind coursing through the surroundings. His imposing figure demanded respect from the nearby citizens, but a few mighty adventurers in a nearby pub despised him.

They were a group of five haggard men. Their beards were ungroomed and hefty weapons were carried on their backs. A few of them possessed an abnormal number of scars running down their faces and bodies. It was clear that they have been through their fair share of battles.

Silver necklaces that displayed their ranks hung down from their necks, dozens of tally marks were etched onto the necklaces. The biggest of the five men, a dirty-blonde, blue-eyed man, guzzled down the last bit of his alcohol before slamming the keg onto the ground.

The loud bang garnered the attention of the nearby citizens, including Caesar. They were a group rather conspicuous figures. They were merely foreigners resting at Rahvin kingdom for the time being. Their mission from the merchants guild happened to be nearby.

The blonde man, clearly drunk, stumbled forward whilst pointing at Caesar. "Y-you n.o.ble brats hiding behind the walls should all rot in h.e.l.l…" he slurred, "we adventurers risk our lives for the normal people, however, we are constantly perceived as thugs!"

His drunken ramblings caused the numerous citizens to tilt their heads in confusion, even the man's friends attempted to pull his drunken figure back. However, with a wave of Caesar's hands, their movements stopped.

"I was just thinking about which person I should employ to drive my carriage," Caesar said with a smile, "you lot should do just fine… I mean, an adventurer will do anything for money, right? Even if it means working for someone you despise?"

As he spoke to here, he flipped a golden coin into the drunken man's hands. "Here, keep the tip… I'll be expecting you guys in this exact same spot, 6 days from now." Caesar continued with a devious grin and walked away, leaving an extremely embarra.s.sed group of five.

It was true, money was the absolute factor that determined whether or not they accepted jobs. Such statements were like arrows piercing into the hearts of adventurers.

"b.a.s.t.a.r.d…" The drunk man mumbled and pa.s.sed out due to intoxication.
