Damien smiled, booping Regan's nose, "I always knew my little bunny was a smart one."

"Don't play with her, it makes me jealous," Gradis sulked.

"Awww don't be like that, you know I liked Regan better from the beginning," Damien chuckled.

"Sigh… I guess I never won your favor in the end," Gradis sighed. She swallowed all of the antidote and her frown was replaced with a smile, "however, you did good, this ought to do good for our bank accounts. It was a good idea you thought of this after our meeting last weekend with the team captain about catching a serial killer." Gradis giggled, she stood up and kissed Damien on the cheek.

"Don't do that, my girlfriend is watching," Damien frowned, nodding towards Regan.

"You still call her that after setting her up and using her for money?"

"Just because she was my p.a.w.n doesn't mean I can't gain feelings for her,"

"S-shameless," Regan huffed.

"Isn't he?" Gradis agreed.

Gradis stood up and took some tissues out of Regan's bag, wiped the chair she sat on, and dabbed Regan's cheek where she touched.

"Was this all a plan for you? Everything you made me do? Everything YOU SUPPORTED ME DOING!" Regan yelled, her voice cracking in anger.

"Hm… not all," Damien replied thinking back, "I pitied Ella, and wanted to save her from misery before it hit her, so I prompted you to kill her, Bella had to be done, so did Layla, Arianna was a nuisance and honestly she had to go and Julius was trash that needed to be wiped off the earth, and you. I truly did like you, it's just when worse comes to worst, I have to protect myself and you from further damage."

"Don't bulls.h.i.+t, protect me?" Regan coughed.

Damien leaned into Regan's ear and softly whispered, "don't forget, everything I do is done for a reason. And everything I do is done to protect you."

Regan tried to push him away but her strength was draining and her body was slowly shutting down. She fell to the floor, her body hitting the carpet with a light thud.
