"...I know. I know I promised not to sell war supplies, but the situation-"

"What situation!? You either give in to greed and sell killing machines or you find another way to make a profit! Without indirectly helping a war."

"...Sven, I can't. Not under these circ.u.mstances."

"Then why are we even in this continent. You know Pathos was only filled with endless war but you decided to broaden your trade route into the continent...why?" Sven's voice starts becoming more like a pleading whine full of disappointment.

After thinking about it for a while, Boss decides to spill everything,"That's...I thought I come help remedy the situation. The original plan was to sell food and medicine all over the continent. I believed they would be in high demand, but I was wrong. Regular citizen don't have the luxury to afford medicine or food and the people with the money, aristocrats, bought the cheapest food they could buy for their soldiers and spent all their money on war supplies. I was at my wits ending trying to get rid of our food before it all spoiled and luckily I was able to sell it at a slightly discounted price to one of the larger military bases and we even made a long-lasting contract with them, but that still left us in the red. I needed to find a way to feed all my men and fast. The stress acc.u.mulated and I ended up giving in and started selling weapons." By the time he finished talking, Boss's head was hung down in shame.

The caravan was filled with silence before Sven suddenly moved. He rushed towards his father with his arms spread out, so I thought he was going to take his anger out on him, but before I could stop him, Sven wrapped his tiny arms around his father, giving him a bear hug. I sigh in relief and Boss looks at his son in surprise.

A m.u.f.fled voice starts,"I'm sorry...I'm sorry you had to deal with this burden all on your own, going against your morals and belief for the sake of our well-being." Sniffling can be heard. "I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you. To support you."

The Boss looks at his son in surprise before it melts into loving tenderness,"No...I'm the one that brought you here and I'm the one that that decided to try my luck in this continent, so I'm the one that has to deal with the continent." Boss calmly rubs his son's head of hair.

Wiping his wet face, Sven ponders,"Can't we just leave this continent and stop selling weapons?"

"...Originally I thought it was impossible, because of our lack of funds. But after we started eating the fruit we got from that town, we haven't had to spend any money on food. Whatever's in the food, it's enough to last the whole group a day and makes us feel more energized and healthy than what we were previously eating."

"Ah, right? I only need to eat a little to feel full and I feel a lot stronger that before!"

"Because of that, I no longer need to buy food at inflated prices and we end up saving a lot of money, enough to last us until we leave the continent."

Sven's face lights up,"Does that mean we can stop selling weapons and leave?"

Boss sighs," No, I still need to finish the orders I received. If I cancel them, word will spread around that I'm unreliable and no one will hire me, not in this continent or another."

Sven's smile dims but hope remain in his eyes," But after we finish the deliveries?"

"I won't need to sell weapons anymore."

Sven sigh in relief and they hug once more.
