I worked hard, to reach the level I am at today.

Because, without me putting in the effort to learn, I would've achieved nothing.

You may already know what I'm talking about...it's Magic.

Magic is this kind of spiritual energy that flows throughout everything.

Both living, and non-living.

It is what this planet is built of.

It is what this galaxy is built of.

Unlike most people who have bottlenecks when they try to push through to the next grade, I've never had such a thing.

Perhaps that's why I am one of the strongest magic users alive?

Well, when I first started out, Ranks didn't even exist.

Cities and the like didn't exist either.

No civilization existed.

Only lush plant life and animal life.

Of course, now that we, the Wizards and Witches have come to this land, it is something entirely different.

We've created civilizations.

We've created mythical life.

And we've evolved.

And by evolving I mean Ranking up in strength.

At first, everyone was weak.

We were so weak, a random twig could probably even manage to kill us.

But now that we've learned to absorb and make use of this spiritual energy, which we, in other words, call Mana, it's entirely different.

If we were at the bottom of the food chain before, then now we're at the top.

Wizards and Witches have all been divided into Rankings.

At the bottom of the rankings is the 1-Star magic users.

This is the worst of the worst of the magic society, yet they are revered as Saints by the common folk.

Of course, even beneath the 1-Star magic users, is the common folk, and that somewhat explains why even the 1-Star magic users are revered as G.o.ds, as they are 10 times stronger than the average person. Well, not entirely physical, but more on the mental side.

After 1-Star magic users come 2-Star...3-Star...4-Star...5-Star...6-Star...7-Star...8-Star, and all the way up to 9-Star magic users.

If you were to compare a 1-Star and 9-Star magic user, it would be like comparing a small dust particle with a mountain.

And yes, that's how much of a difference in strength and mana a 1-Star and a 9-Star.

Of course, there's still ranks above 9-Star, but none have ever reached that level yet.

Me personally, Autumn Blackwood, is one of the few 9-Star Witches in existence.

However, I do not dare to claim I am the strongest magic-user.

Neither does any Witch or Wizard and even if they did, they would only attract malicious glares and hate.

You probably don't know why, but that is because of our G.o.ddess or what magic-related people call her; The Ultimate Witch.

Wizards are those who pursue the truth of the world, while we the Witches spend our time in nature.

A hundred years ago, the first Wizard to discover the strength of this Ultimate Witch, almost lost control over his mana due to shock, and he nearly self-destructed.

At that time, he finally found out what kind of existence the revered Ultimate Witch was, and what level of strength she had achieved.

He did that, by understanding her way of transport.

I know, it may sound weird but that's how he did it.

He called it 's.p.a.ce Travelling'.

Unlike our way of short-distance teleportation, he explained 's.p.a.ce Travelling', as a method to travel an unlimited amount of distance in an instant.

Furthermore, he explained, that for one to be able to use 's.p.a.ce Travelling', even without a Magic Staff to multiply the effect of one's magic like the Ultimate Witch did, one had to have a body at the level of strength of s.p.a.ce itself, or perhaps even higher than that.

This was extremely hard to imagine, as even a 9-Star magic-user was someone extremely powerful.

Now, back to the beginning.

When the about 2 000 people first arrived in this place, we saw the Ultimate Witch herself, and ever since we, the older generation, have told stories about her beauty and mystique to our children and grandchildren, millions of rumours have appeared.

Some rumours talk about how her beauty could kill.

Other rumours talk about her omnipotent presence.

And some of the newer rumours talk about her incredible strength, and how she may be a higher lifeform than us the magic users.

But all of these rumours, are in the end, just rumours.

There's no denying that she has incredible strength, but no one knows if that strength can be confirmed to be entirely true.

That is what shrouds her in mystery, as well as who she is.

The Ultimate Witch also has another name. The One.

This name is only used by the common folk, as they view her as a sort of omnipotent G.o.ddess.

50 years ago, a religion surrounding The One even popped up, and within these recent years, it has become the religion dominating most of the galaxy.

The Pope of this religion is weirdly enough a magic-user named William Merlin.

He is currently at the peak of 9-Star, resulting in him being only beneath The One, herself.

He is also my husband at the moment.

We met about 20 years after the start of this religion, and 40 years after he started it, it took off.

This was because of the Staff of Ancients being discovered and put into use.

At first, we didn't know how to use it, but because of some of the older Wizards and Witches, we cracked the code.

A male and female had to be in love before they could even begin wielding the staff.

But to use its power, you had to be at least at the peak of 9-Star.

That was also the time where I and Merlins truly began to love each other.

However, both me, Merlin, and the other seniors have felt a familiarity with this staff.

It's the aura of the Ultimate Witch, and this is the biggest reason the religion took off.

She is often seen as someone omnipotent, and someone people can rely on.

She's mysterious, yet not.

During my lifetime of a couple of hundred years, I've heard tons of questions regarding the Ultimate Witch, or the Saintess. Whichever name you'd like.

What's the ident.i.ty of the Ultimate Witch?

Is the Ultimate Witch still among us?

Where is the Ultimate Witch?

What's her origin?

Does she have a family?

Of course, no answer has ever been found to any of these questions.

There have been imposters, claiming to be the Ultimate Witch, but they've all been found out to be liars.

And because of this, they've been hunted down by the common folk and magic users alike.

You could call them the sc.u.m of society, or the sc.u.m of the galaxy.

n.o.body likes these people, and oddly enough even men or Wizards have claimed to be the reincarnation of 'her'.

Of course, no one believes them.

But let me ask something.

Something, that no one but the Ultimate Witch will be able to answer.
