Chapter 0 Prologue:
"I wish I lived more than I did." He whispered to his death.
Autumn was a talented Author with many books and awards to his name. He started writing from a young age of 13 and from his childhood his works were a great descriptive piece of art with such realism and depth that his fictions start to sound real. Many crazy people who were convinced by Autumn's stories did voyage in search of the islands that were mentioned in his novels. Was it pure luck, insane coincidences or unconscious genius of Autumn that many of the fict.i.tious places that he mentioned in his books turned out real. Inspired by these many people started to follow his books and with its help discovered and understood many ancient civilizations, prehistoric animals and laws of physics. It was no surprise that the number of the book sold by Autumn was more than the number of books sold by 10 Authors in their life combined.
Fans loved his works and critics can't stop praising him. Along with many awards in writing he was also awarded a special medal that did not exist until he received it as if it was specifically made for him. It was called "The Award for the advancement of science and archeology using fictional medium". This medal is dedicated to the writers whose fictions helped in the advancement of real-world science and archeology.
However, everything changed when a band of thieves managed to steal valuable ancient jewelry from a well-defended museum and were invisible from the grid until they decided to sell the stolen items. After interrogation, it was found that the thieves used one of Autumn's books called "The thief of Minan" as their guide for the heist. Apparently the main temple that the story revolves around in the book "The thief of Minan" resembles highly accurate with the questioned museum.
Before he wrote "The Thief of Minan" Autumn visited many museums as research and used them as inspirations for his work. He didn't know that those things he wrote would work in real life. Many TV shows tried to replicate the heist by hiring professionals and with the agreement of Museum owners manage to pull the stunt. Out of 28 museums that were infiltrated using Autumn's Books as guide 23 were successful.
Media advertised this incident like a discovery of All Cure and in a few weeks, the whole world was talking about how Autumn is a genius and his work was a factual testament. Some people even started a religion based on his books. What happened after that is what left a huge stain on the pages of history.
Criminals started to appear like rabbits after mating season and according to news personals, every one of them was using one of Autumn's books to perform their crimes. They also proposed the possibility that many unsolved crimes were performed using the same books.
Many insane medical pract.i.tioners perform horrible operations like body part transplants and used untested drugs on healthy victims just because it was possible in the novels written by Autumn. These were the purebred maniacal idiots that did not understand the line between fact and fiction. Most of the accused blamed Autumn's book saying that it was too convincing and they believed that they were doing good to the world by following it.
News of horrible acts started to appear daily. The families of the victims and convicts along with religious pract.i.tioners blamed Autumn for the horrible acts committed by these insane individuals. People started going on protest rallies against Autumn. They demanded that Autumn to be held responsible for acts of the emerging crimes and criminals. With not many options left the authorities decided to put Autumn in a trail. Just like any sane person would have guessed Autumn was free from any charges placed on him and went home as a free man or so he thought.
Many people tried to a.s.sault Autumn but he manages to defend himself every time. People even burn down his house but luckily the authorities arrived in time and saved him with minor injuries. The events of people trying to kill Autumn became so frequent that Autumn spent most of his time in well-defended hospitals. It was when one of his closest friends tried to a.s.sault him that Autumn understood how much the world hated him. That was also the straw that broke the camel's back.
A few days later the newspaper read, "The infamous writer known as Autumn died after committing suicide. He jumps from the window of the room he was admitted in after he was a.s.saulted by his childhood friend."
Chapter 1:
Immortality, every mortal wants it but when asked What are their plans after achieving immortality, silence is the only answer. Thororg'gon felt pity thinking about the times when people asked him the secrete of his immortality.
He was once a great conqueror that dominated the world but now he lays in the peaceful chambers of his hideout regretting the choices he made. If the world allows him then he will do anything in his power to restore but that's not how the world works.
He walked the halls lit by rows of illuminating crystals. His light and silent strides betrayed his ma.s.sive stature but more amazing was the fact that his clawed feet left no markings on the floor. He stopped his steps when he reached a giant Iron door guarded by two iron giants. They straightened themselves upon seeing their master and push the door open.
The two iron giants standing before the t.i.tanic door resembled a kid's room where his toys guarding his room but their insignificance grew significantly when Thororg'gon walked pa.s.s them. Upon entering, Thororg'gon spotted another one of his servants. This was another iron giant slightly different from the previous ones and unlike before the present iron giant was slightly smaller and more human.
"Welcome Master," It greeted Thororgon with great respect.
"Rise," Thororg'gon replied after seeing it kneel. On his command, the iron giant lifted his head. Standing straight the little iron giant resembled a sword forged to its perfection contradicting his stature.
"Give me your Report," Thororg'gon added.
"The subject's condition is stable but…" the iron giant stumbled before continuing, "but the examiners have some doubts."
"Some doubts?" Thororg'gon mumbled to himself and after a brief thought he said, "Lead me there."
"It would be an honor." the little iron giant obliged and followed his instruction.
As they got closer to their destination the sound of people chanting got louder and louder filling the halls that they were pa.s.sing. The unpleasant hymn was sung with words that were hard to p.r.o.nounce but the fluency spoke the dedication of the singers.
The room turned silent upon the entrance of Thororg'gon. Folks who surely are of cultic backgrounds prostrated themselves to honor the presence of Thororg'gon.
"Rise." The cultic figures began to lift themselves to their feet and waited for Thororg'gon to continue. "I think you have something to say."
From the crowd, the leader came forward and spoke, "All hail the great living G.o.d."
"All hail the creators." others followed.
"It is an honor to be in the presence of a great being."
"All hail the creators."
"Begin with your report," Thorog'gon said after a defeated sigh.
Thorog'gon was an immortal being but by no means was he a G.o.d. He always felt that the position of individuals whose strength depended on the faith of the mortals was a stupid idea which is why he never ascended G.o.dhood but there still were people around the world like the present cultists who believed that Thororg'gon was a G.o.d and wors.h.i.+p him.
The cult leader misunderstood his intentions and hastily started explaining, "The body that our master presented is perfectly healthy but we are not sure if it will be capable of any motor functions."
He raised his nonexisting brow, "Explain."
"We are currently managing his physical health with magic but the body starts to decay as soon as we stop. It is impossible to guess what will happen next."
"Did you understand the reason for this phenomenon?"
"We are not sure but after experimenting and research we have decided to call his condition 'null soul syndrome'."
"Null soul syndrome?"
"Yes, it is the condition where the world rejects its occupants who are violating its fundamental laws."
"Which fundamental laws are you talking about?"
"We don't know which laws but we think it might be related to him not having a soul."
Thorog'gon began to wonder what he can do and then the solution presented itself.
"If that is the case then do you think we can solve it by the resurrection?"
The cultist began whispering. They discussed among themselves for a while and after concluding the leader came forward and spoke.
"We have our doubts but that might be our only chance."
Thororg'gon was not prepared for this hew as expecting denial to be their answer, what he said now was not a calculated thought but a wandering inspiration. He was secretly hoping that the cultist would reject his opinion but now that there is a possibility of success and his subjects have approved of his suggestion he cannot back away, "Prepare the resurrection chamber. I declare that no hands must be lazy until we have achieved our goals."
