I never realized how much I would miss her until her disappearance struck me. I was the one who had continuously pushed her away, and I was the reason she was gone now. The house was silent, yet I knew that everyone was here. I had brought them all back here a few weeks ago when Rose was gone, they moved in and continue to stay away from each other. I've noticed it more than most people have.

Levi and William stay in one of the spare rooms with William coming out to get food and make sure Levi's eating. Kai and I have light conversation when he manages to get Angel to sleep so she can rest. She's taking this the worst, sometimes worse than me. She wakes up constantly from nightmares and when she wakes, she normally ends up hurting herself, so Kai and I take watch on her.

Kai does leave every so often to go to the Heaven kingdom to find Rose's soul, but he comes back empty handed more often then not now.

As for me, I'm not as bad as Angel, but I'm still doing bad. I don't sleep and I go out to the makes.h.i.+ft grave we made for her almost everyday. No one else wants to go and accept it, but it's staring me in the face. She's gone, if she wasn't, I would have felt her pulling at me by now, wis.h.i.+ng for me to bring her home, but silence and darkness meet me whenever I try to tug on the bond.

The rain is only getting heavier as I stare out into the field of roses. Angel decided we needed to have something that reminded us of her, but it only made the pain hurt worse than I could have ever imagined. Lavender had come back and expected to see her sister, alive and well, only to break apart knowing she had lost her right when she had gotten her back.

She left the following night.

Right on cue, I felt as if someone was watching me again. It was around the same time everyday, and most of the time I chose to ignore the feeling. The rain started to slow and I walked my way to the field of roses, carefully following the stone path marked out. The grave stood lonely within the ring of roses.

Here lies,

Rose

Sister and friend to us all

May she rest in peace

I collapsed in front of the stone and ran my hand along it. She had suffered so much pain, yet I selfishly wanted to bring her back. I left her alone in a world that hates what she was. She was constantly beat and abused by the people around her, and no one had noticed when she screamed for help.

I didn't either until it was too late.

Tears began to wet my cheeks as I sat there, just letting the rain soak me. I deserved worse than this. I deserved all the pain in the universe for this, but it never came to me, and that made me feel so much worse. I felt a hand clasp my shoulder and I didn't even look up to know who it was, the scent of her made all the difference.

Angel stood behind me and sat down next to me, wrapping her small arms around me. I noticed that she was crying too as she stared at the stone.

"You're supposed to be asleep, Angel," I said, relaxing into her so she could mourn with me.

"I can't sleep anymore. The same dream keeps waking me up."

"Do you want to talk about it?"

"Not here, not in front of..." she started before pausing. I knew what she had meant before she could put it to words.

"I get it, but we need to talk about it later, okay?" I felt her nod against my shoulder as she lifted a hand to her mouth and kissed it before pus.h.i.+ng it to the stone. I heard the wings before Kai's voice.

"Angel, please go back inside," Kai said, landing next to me. I felt her hesitation before she pulled away and headed back for the house. "She shouldn't be out here, Week. You know that."

"I do, but she's suffering as much if not more than the rest of us. She needs peace, not shoving it into a corner of her mind and forgetting it, Kai."

I heard his sigh as he sat down next to me. His wings were put away and his s.h.i.+rt was torn to pieces.

"They had a special bond, Week. Nothing like a promised, more like they were soulmates. Just like how Angel is mine, I have always felt that the two of them were soulmates as well. I'll never know for sure now, but I think it more and more everyday just watching how Angel has been reacting to the things around her."

I look at him then and start thinking. Part of me knew it made sense, while the other side was still confused as to how it was possible. I had thought Lizzie was her soulmate to begin with, now I'm not so sure. "How so?"

He shakes his head. "Anything and everything she does, she says that it has something to do with Rose. She has punched me in the nose a few times trying to lighten the mood when she gets to talking about her. It's as if all she sees is me, you, and Rose. It's strange."

I nodded, noticing the patterns now. She had refused to sleep in a guest room when she got here, instead choosing Rose's room to stay in. She didn't look at Lizzie when she was here, instead she spatted insults and was truly hateful towards the girl. She didn't really talk to Levi or William, instead choosing to remain isolated from them.

"It actually makes sense. Are you sure you felt the bond when you first met her?"

"Positive. I know for a fact that angels don't have more than one soulmate unless the bond gets broken somehow. I also know that Angel and I still have our bond."

Strange didn't even begin to explain the situation, it was completely bizarre. There wasn't a way that the two were soulmates, yet they showed the signs and we were all too blind to notice them.

We made our way back to the house soon after that and I noticed Angel on the couch, staring at the television screen. I grabbed the spare remote and switched it off, making her turn towards me. "Alright, Angel. You have some explaining to do."
