The noontime sun shone brightly, and three figures were seen walking out of the hospital entrance. Other pa.s.sersby and bystanders turned their heads as if they were being compelled to do so. Their eyes glittered at the sight of such a beautiful child walking hand-in-hand with an elderly couple. His hair was moving with the wind like a flowing cloth while his complexion was clear and smooth. His cheeks were round enough to be pinched to one's enjoyment.

Two big dark eyes looked at the two people holding onto his hands. With a small bag behind him, Liu Guangru walked under the sun once again. Unlike earlier, he wasn't searching for anything in particular. However, he had a place in mind which he asked for earlier. With the elderly couple by his sides, it would be hard for anyone to block his path again.

An indescribable chill was coming from the small child's hand, but Wu Qianqian's bracelet continued to remain pa.s.sive. She would whimper at the thought of it being broken without her knowing. Liu Li was a little better; at least, he had taken the dangerous ghost child away from his son.

With such a cute, endearing child between them, the couple couldn't help but feel that they were indeed walking their grandchild. Not to mention that the child looked at their son as his father, the child didn't reserve his mouth from calling them 'Grandpa' and 'Grandma'. It didn't help that the child looked nothing someone would say 'ghost'. He also had the demeanor and behavior of a real six-year-old. Looking at Liu Guangru now, Liu Li and Wu Qianqian couldn't blame Liu Xiaodan from taking care of the ghost child.

Setting aside the fact that he was a spirit that had haunted for more than thirty years, Liu Guangru was a child all grandparents would dream of.

Following the incident in another shopping mall, Wu Qianqian opted to visit another mall in the city. It wasn't that they didn't know it was Liu Guangru's fault; it was more like they refused to meet troubles if ever some staff recognized the child.

Moreover, Liu Li was feeling light as he noticed the look on the faces of those other retirees and old people in the high-end mall. Of course, they envied the Liu couple for having such a beautiful grandchild.

Liu Guangru wanted to go around town to sweep the streets, but he didn't turn down the notion of getting new clothes. The ones he was wearing now had become old even though he wished to keep them. He waltzed into the boutique and looked around for anything he liked. Wu Qianqian had seen a lot she wanted to buy for the child, but Liu Li had to control her urge to binge-buy. It wasn't like the child would be able to change from one set to another every day. What they didn't know was that if Liu Guangru was asked to, he would do so.

Thirty candidates... Liu Guangru had waited for more than thirty years and thirty candidates to be accepted just like this. Of course, he would do what a normal child would do. If he had to bawl like a trash kid, he would—unless he got reprimanded. However, Liu Xiaodan had been a good example to him—based on the memories he gathered from Liu Xiaodan's childhood. It was less likely for Liu Guangru to misbehave.

Settling with a pair of sky blue jacket with a white s.h.i.+rt and light-khaki trousers. The s.h.i.+rt had a print of a blue clip-art dinosaur on its center, with the words 'let's be friends' waved like a rainbow on top. His shoes were a pair of white sneakers for kids. He even had a ball cap which Liu Li couldn't help but buy.

Aside from new clothes, Liu Guangru also received candies from his prospective grandparents. He also had a chance to eat at a high-end restaurant since Wu Qianqian was already hungry. While in the mall, she sent a message to Liu Xiaodan and told him that they were dining with Liu Guangru. She could only sigh at what his reaction would be.

Also, she had considered the fact that he was still asleep.

"Xiao Ru, you said you wanted to get rid of them. What exactly are you getting rid of?" Liu Li spoke out of nowhere while they were enjoying their lunch. Wu Qianqian paused her movements while Liu Guangru continued to messily handle his spoon. The now-grandfather had to help out the little one before earning an answer.

"I don't know why, but everyone doesn't want Guangru to be born." His dark eyes radiated with chilling murderous intent for a second. "They keep on asking him to go away. They even hurt him with that car." He had another big bite from the spoon Liu Li was feeding him with. "Guangru should just"—the child squashed his hands like crus.h.i.+ng whatever was in his palms—"them all." He could make do with a less childish language, but he didn't want to distract the elderly couple.

"How exactly?" Liu Li only hummed. He was a businessman, and he was used to hearing crazy ventures. No idea was stupid, only impossible to work with at the moment or useless to the situation.

"...Kill." Liu Guangru mumbled as he reached for a gla.s.s of water that Wu Qianqian helped him with. He held onto it with both of his wee little hands and slowly tipped it so he could drink.

If no one was listening in to their conversation, everyone around them was left to envying such picture-perfect scenery. A pair of elderly was tending to their grandchild who could have been left to them by his hardworking parents. To think that the child didn't seem to be spoiled rotten despite dining in such a high-end restaurant; it meant the family must be of high status.

Liu Li had a very flouris.h.i.+ng company, but it had reached its maximum capacity. He wouldn't have any problems in the future, but it wouldn't be expanding any soon. He just dreamed of letting it continue for another decade before selling it for his retirement. Letting his son inherit it would be a waste of the company and his son's talent. Liu Xiaodan should be able to keep himself afloat on his own, and so Liu Li wasn't worried at all. That was why shedding out thousands for a single lunch was alright.

After getting their fill, the couple and their grandchild proceeded with Liu Guangru's plan. He led them to the intersection where Liu Xiaodan met with an accident. Liu Guangru could vividly remember what happened that day, how one of the ghosts tried to kill his father. After he frightened the poor policeman, he was about to have a decent conversation with his father.

Before he could finish his statement, something had pulled the vehicle in front of the van. Both cars advanced so fast without brakes, and it resulted in that fatal crash. Liu Guangru could only keep his father's head and chest protected as he was also caught off-guard. That was a mistake on his part, and he wished to take revenge.

The child then lifted his gaze up at the pathway across the street. A woman was standing there with a child riding her arm and stayed tucked against her shoulder. The woman's face was covered by her hair, but it was easy to see that her eyes were closed. She also had another child on her other hand, but the child was obviously dead. The child was hanging by the arm and had been slumped on the ground. Perhaps the one on her arms was also gone.

"...you..." Liu Guangru frowned at the woman. "You were here on that day." The mother only moved her head, taking some hair off of her face. Her mouth moved, but only dark smoke came out instead of words. The child huffed. "I will chop off your children piece by piece if you don't answer me properly."

"You shouldn't have woken up." The mother fixed her head back to its previous position. She then sneered in ridicule.

Liu Guangru glared at the woman before the child on her hand began to tremble. It started crying in pain as its body began twisting all of a sudden. The mother then turned to witness the head explode. The blood that splattered hit pa.s.sersby who reacted to the smell and the feeling. However, there was no blood. Then again, it was followed by a shrill scream that came out of nowhere.

In contrast to what Liu Guangru thought would happen, Wu Qianqian grabbed him from the front and took him away in a heartbeat. Even Liu Li wrapped an arm around his wife's back and took them to safety. Most people had also run upon noticing the sudden emergence of a screaming woman in black.

Liu Guangru only held onto Wu Qianqian's back as he glared at the black woman. Then again, she threw the baby away and ran to chase the elderly couple holding the mogui with insane speed. Her hands had turned into black claws as she screamed louder and louder. Liu Guangru was about to lock onto the woman as she got dangerously close.

That was when Wu Qianqian's bracelet burned intensely. With a light only visible to Liu Guangru, the bracelet discharged a barrier around them in a split-second. When the barrier hit the black woman, she instantly burned and disintegrated into ashes. Her ashes were soon carried by the wind and away from the scene.

The mogui's eyes shrank as his lips pursed. He didn't know who had made that bracelet, but that person was definitely a master diviner—one stronger than that old man Mian Tianyu. Liu Guangru then closed his eyes like a scared child as his fingers clawed at his grandmother's back.

If that diviner was the one who came to Liu Xiaodan, he was scared that he wouldn't survive.

Heavy panting came to Liu Guangru's ears as the elderly couple stopped running. Both of them sat down on a bench in the park, ignoring the people who ran in the opposite direction. There was a fuss over the place, but the Liu couple simply didn't rejoin the people. Wu Qianqian then moved to sit Liu Guangru on her lap before instinctively wiping his face.

As she stared at him, she remembered the very reason why that scream could have happened. Liu Guangru was talking to someone earlier—seconds before the scream echoed. Also, her bracelet activated its defensive measures... which meant the ghost was going to cause her harm. She then continued stroking at Liu Guangru's stray fringe.

"Please be more careful, Xiao Ru..." Wu Qianqian patted her chest again to relieve her hastened breathing. "Grandma and Grandpa couldn't run fast."

Liu Li could only rub his wife's back. He could keep up with running, but to burst into a sprint was too much even for him. "Yes, Grandma and Grandpa couldn't..."
