MY KIND OF LOVE 5 The Blind Date

Jeff and Miray walked out of the restaurant after having their lunch. When they were about to get to he car, Miray got a phone call from her Mother and told Jeff to wait for her in the car while she speaks to her mother.

"h.e.l.lo mummy, how are you?"

"I will be fine once you agree to what I am about to say.." Madam Yethus's voice sounded demanding

"Umm okay mummy tell me what it is and this obedient daughter of yours will do it.. " Miray, scratched her head wondering what her mother was up to now.

"I set you up for a blind date wi..."

"Blind date??!" Miray thought she had heard her mother wrong.

"Yes, I set you up on a blind date with your father's friend, Uncle Jim's first son."

"Madam Yethu, did you have to do this?, I have already told you, I don't need such kind of destruction right now.. I have a lot of things to do rather than go for a blind date!" Miray had no idea that the man who was watching her in the restaurant was behind her, listening to her conversation with her mum.

"Hold your tongue woman! Have I not brought you up with manners??! Now you are even calling me madam Yethu!?.. have you forgotten I am your mother???!!" Madam Yethu's voice was filled with so much rage, Miray had no choice but to retreat. 

"I am sorry, I shouldn't have spoken to you in such a manner... I will go for the blind date, just send me the place and time, I promise I will be there... Now, now .. don't be too angry, it's not good for your health.."

"Okay, I will have your brother contact you..." Madam Yethu quickly hanged up the phone. 

Old Yethu was very anxious to know if his daughter had accepted to go for the blind date.  "Eeh, did she agree to go for the blind date?"

"Yes she did, I told you I know to talk to her." After hearing what his wife said, old Yethu became very excited. To him the young man, Terence, would be the best match for his daughter.

Miray was still looking at her phone trying process what just happened. 'I shouldn't have answered that call,.. wow, she is very scary, now I know where I got it from.' Jeff was still waiting for her in the car, she made her way to the car and they drove off. 

The mysterious man was still standing by the door. "Find out more about the date tonight and make sure the man doesn't show up.."

"Yes sir" replied the man who was next to him. The two entered the car that was waiting for them.

"And oh yes, ..clear my schedule for tonight,... I am going on a date with the witch."

"I will do as you asked, Mr Vandeers." Replied the obedient subject.

"Did you find out anything about Skylar Vandeers, Peter ?" that was the first thing Miray said as soon as she walked into the office.

"Apart from what could be found on common Google search, I wasn't able to find anything." Peter replied while giving Miray his iPad for her to see what was written on Google.

Miray sat down in her office and started she looking at the information found about Skylar Vandeers. 'How come there is nothing much about him online?' Miray thought to herself, 'I am even scared to search my own name on Google because of all the rumours I have.' Miray felt like something wasn't right. Her only resolution was to call Joe.

Joe was Miray's mentor and a leader of one of the biggest gang group in the country. They met a few years back when Miray saved a little girl from a car accident, and the little girl happened to be Joe's daughter. After seeing the type of girl she was at that time, he offered to be her mentor as a return of his grat.i.tude. Joe taught Miray all the business moves from the streets and he was the reason why she was able to succeed. Over the years their relations.h.i.+p became like a Father- daughter. The business world wasn't as clean as it looked, it had it's dark side and he wanted to protect her. He taught Miray martial arts, how to use a gun and other things for her sake.

"Hey Joe, how are you?" 

"Same as usual b.u.t.terfly, what's up?" Joe voice came with heavy breathing.

"Are you busy right now?" Miray thought she had interrupted something.

"No, I am just at the dojo with the boys."

"Okay then, I will send you a name, please look it up for me." Miray let out some desperation in her voice.

"Okay Mimi, I will call you tonight, bye." After hanging up the phone, as she was sending a message to Joe, Zain's message finally came up.

'Forrest restaurant, 7 pm. Mum said DON'T BE LATE and LOOK GOOD.' 

Miray remembered the conversation she had with her mum an hour ago. 'it's not like she will be seeing me', her plan was to be very rude and disrespectful to whoever it was, so that he would never want to meet her again. Looking at the time, she had to leave the office after three hours in order to make it to the date.

Three hours later .....

"Jeff, I will be leaving early today, I have some things I need to do, you can leave anytime you want once your work is done..... Nene book me a flight to city L, tonight... I won't be around for a day." Miray kept on looking at her watch while she talked to them.

'where is she going?'

'wow, she left work this early'

' Why does she go to city L often, could she be that she is secretly married in that city?' They all had questions but they couldn't ask her. This was the first time their boss had left the office so early. In such a short time they started seeing a different side of their boss. Just yesterday a handsome man came to pick her up from the office and today she work early.

"alright, I will send you the ticket... " Nene quickly started searching for the tickets online. Miray left and got on a taxi.

This would be the first time Miray had been on a date ever since she broke up with Tony. After getting ready and packing up her things for her short trip to city L, she got into her Mercedes Benz.

Miray arrived 15 minutes late. After entering the restaurant, she looked around to see anyone who was sitting alone. Miray didn't even know what her date looked like, 'aah I should have told mum to send me his picture, I don't even know his name, this is going to be embarra.s.sing.' At the corner of the restaurant, there was a man who was staring at her'it must be him, I am sure papa would have, given him my photo.' She waved her hand and the man smiled.

Miray started walking towards the table while a.n.a.lysing the man who was there. Even though he sat down, you could tell that he was very tall. He had nice thick eyebrows and light brown eyes that would make you continue looking at them. His shoulders were broad Miray deduced that he must have worked out a lot. He wore a nicely tailored suit. ' I didn't expect him to be this handsome, what could be wrong with him... I am sure a lot of women would be dying to be with him...' Miray thought to herself as she sat down taking in the scent of his perfume.

"h.e.l.lo, I am so sorry that am late.."

"you don't have to be..." replied the man with his deep, mature voice.
