Chapter 231: Don’t Worry, It Won’t Happen

w.a.n.g Hou froze over on the other end of the call.

What were those voices?

There seemed to be many people crying out ‘Jiang He’ and the roar of a dragon—could Jiang He have released his Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms?

After all, that ‘pow’ was quite easily identified, since it was clearly the sound of Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palm hitting a person.

It was not only him either—the Graywolf King and the Sky Demon Cultists whom Jiang He was facing were stunned as well. All of them traded glances and then glanced at the corpse pieces on the floor, only reacting after several second.

The divine-tier Cardinal was gone... even before she could finish her sentence?

Nonetheless, Fourth Elder spoke first!

He strode out, yelling, “Don’t kill me, Jiang He!”

“I’m Yan Dehao, an undercover agent embedded in the Sky Demon Cult under Minister w.a.n.g’s orders. He can prove it!”

Baldie spoke very quickly like a gatling cannon, as if afraid that Jiang He would kill him with a single palm if he spoke half a second slower.

w.a.n.g Hou also heard Yan Dehao’s shouting then, and while he did not know what happened at Jiang He’s end, he promptly exclaimed in delight, “Jiang He, Yan Dehao is really a mole I inserted at the Sky Demon Cult. Is he alright?”

“Fine.”

Jiang He waved, gesturing for Yan Dehao to get behind him.

“Alright, Minister w.a.n.g. There’s still a few small fries from the Sky Demon Cult over here I need to deal with, so let’s talk later.”

With that, he hung up.

Yan Dehao was so burly that he was twice as tall and as wide as Jiang He, and yet he was now hiding like a tiny chick behind Jiang He, pointing at the group of Sky Demon Cultists as he sneered, “Jiang He, that bunch are all Sky Demon Cultists who killed countless people, even stirring Feral frenzies. They won’t be missed!”

“Fourth Elder!”

The Fifth Elder of the Sky Demon Cult was glaring furiously, his eyes almost bulging out in rage. “You... you were my brother, and yet you would betray the Holy Faith?”

He was an A-cla.s.s Awakened with water-type powers, and as he raged out, releasing a burst of aura, the air quickly became damp and the skies started pouring.

Jiang He raised his hand and released Might Dragon Shows Penance!

“Roar!”

A draconic roar echoed over the heavens.

The golden silhouette of a dragon flew out of his palm, slamming into Fifth Elder and sending him flying several hundred meters away, cras.h.i.+ng into a dozen trees before finally landing, and no longer breathing.

“Raining?”

“Did I allow that?”

Jiang He smiled faintly as he strode towards the other Sky Demon Cultists.

Abundant True Qi instantly burst out on his first step, with seven suns materializing behind him to illuminate night as if it was daytime. On his second, the silhouettes of a G.o.dly dragon and an elephant orbited the sun, their roar and trumpeting as deafening as it was never-ending.

Boom!

On his third step, Indestructible Diamond and Nine-Star Heavenly Body Formula were charged simultaneously, his frightening physical power erupting and blowing up the ground beneath his feet. Raging qi overflowed out from around his body, knocking back Yan Dehao and causing him to stumble several steps backwards.

Jiang He’s power was indiscriminate!

In that very moment, the aura bursting out of Jiang He’s body left everyone fearful and palpitating!

What the heck!

Divine-tier?

Divine-conversion or divine tempest?

Yan Dehao’s face dropped.

Could Jiang He have reached divine-union? The gusting of the air kicked by his aura alone had actually knocked a rank-nine novice martial artist like him off his feet!

Was that not too much?

He would be even more horrifying if he was not divine-union!

It meant that Jiang He’s fighting ability could match divine-union—the third level of divine-tier, even though he was merely at the first level: divine-conversion!

“Oh, no. Retreat!”

Cardinal Wu Dong’s eyes tightened as he bellowed. “We’ve been misinformed—Jiang He is not rank-seven, he’s divine-pinnacle...”

The Cardinal was quite a character. Knowing that he would not win, he promptly retreated without any hesitation, even grabbing two rank-eight Sky-Demon Cultists in each hand and throwing them at Jiang He as he ran, intent on slowing Jiang He down and buy time for his escape!

And even as he ran, he did not forget to curse, “You shameless, despicable little man!”

“My Holy Faith will never abide with your existence! Our Saint would soon perfect his G.o.d art, and the Holy Envoys would hence descend on Earth! You would definitely be dead if you kill me!”

Jiang He was rather speechless at that.

Was he... being threatened?

Why was a two-bit villain like him that weak in perspective?

‘If you want to run, run. What was with those curses?

‘Most importantly, it is not like you are banned from cursing—so why would you spit such toxic slander?

‘I, Jiang He, have always been straight and honest, a man of my word. Why did I suddenly become a shameless little man when you’re talking about me?’

His two palms slapped the two unlucky Grands to death, and released his Scarlet Flame Sword at his thought!

Whoos.h.!.+

A scarlet sword light shot out between Jiang He’s brow and cut throw the night air, streaking straight towards Wu Dong at an indescribable speed!

First style of the Three thousand Calamities: White Foal Crosses the Rift!

Jiang He did not add in flowery special effects when he developed this technique, but the only special thing about it was its speed.

As Wu Dong turned around in the air, he was sacred out of his wits. Even so, he promptly burned his spirit, essence and blood and unleashed everything he had learnt throughout the course of his life... even so, could a mere divine-conversion individual like him repel Jiang He’s Royal Sword?

Shank!

The scarlet sword light pierced Wu Dong between his eyes, the razor-sharp Sword Qi instantly extinguis.h.i.+ng his consciousness. All his vigor promptly faded, and his corpse fell straight down out of the sky.

“Cardinal!”

The Sky Demon Cultists cried out in agony.

“Run!”

“Run, now!”

“He is alone—let’s split up!”

The Sentinel of the Left cried, and every Holy Child and Grand promptly separated to escape. Jiang He merely laughed at that, charging his divine-tier cultivation and summoning thunderbolts with a wave of his hand, causing bolts to descend with deafening cracks.

Boom!

One of the Holy Children who was running away did a miserable barrel roll to flee one of the bolts, but when the bolt landed three meters away, it erupted with a boom.

Meanwhile, Jiang He continued to wave his hand and summoning more bolts, weaving a purple net of thunderbolts under the moon’s radiance.

When the thunderstorm eventually faded, the many Sky Demon Cultists could not be deader, all their corpses burnt to ashes.

Yan Dehao gaped, but soon come to his senses and pointed into the distance, “Mister Jiang, the Graywolf King is running!”

***

Right now, the Graywolf King had lost all its nerves.

Super-buff under a full moon?

Even if my power multiplied, it was reckless to fight that thing. Would it dare to even stay?

When Jiang He summoned the thunderbolts to kill the Holy Children, Grand and Sentinel of the Sky Demon Cult, the Graywolf King had already burst out in its top speed, rus.h.i.+ng deep into Mount Dadong.

And yet, the Graywolf King soon despaired.

After running over ten kilometers, it suddenly noticed a sword light hovering before him.

It was engulfed in scarlet flames, exuding a killing intent that forced the Graywolf King to prostrate itself.

But even as it lay down on the ground and stared fearfully at the scarlet sword light ahead shuddering, its words were harsh the moment it spoke human tongue, “Human elite, you are not allowed to kill me... us daemons had an agreement with humans! You break it if you kill me, and war shall follow!”

Jiang He: “...”

Could you not shake so much when you say that?

To think that the Graywolf King of Mount Dadong was actually such a wuss.

Still, the Graywolf King was not to blame. It was Jiang He being exceedingly fearsome, slicing through the Cardinal like chopping vegetables with a wave of his hand—who wouldn’t lose their nerve at such a sight?

Jiang He then had a thought.

A spirit wave conducted into the Graywolf King’s ears from the Scarlet Flame Sword then. “Come back!”

The Graywolf King promptly turned around and returned to the slope without a word. It could see that the corpses strewn over the ground had vanished already, and only that accursed baldie and that ‘Jiang He’ or whatnot standing ahead.

It was certainly less scared right then.

With the agreement between humans and daemons, would Jiang He dare to attack him?

Was he not afraid of Feral unrest across the country if he killed it?

The Graywolf King promptly recovered its boldness at that thought, and spoke flatly, “You are Jiang He? This king heard the Cardinal of the Sky Demon Cult mention you before. Since you are divine-tier, you have the right to work with this king. Either way, it does not matter who this king joins forces with to open the heritage site... eh?”

The Graywolf King’s figure shuddered even before it finished.

Jiang He was now holding the Scarlet Flame Sword with his hand, which had extended up to thirty meters. The tip of the sword was aimed at the Graywolf King’s head, with scarlet flames ablaze over it, breathing and exhaling Sword Qi with sizzling sounds...

Even though the Sword Qi was not charged yet, the Graywolf King’s scalp was already split apart, with blood dripping down from it.

“A vermin, trying to negotiate with me?”

Jiang He replied coolly. “Be a good dog, open the heritage site, and I’ll keep your corpse complete.”

“If you don’t, see you on my dining table!”

“You would dare to kill me?”

The Graywolf King growled in rage. “The agreement is signed between the Golden-Winged Roc and the Dragoncroc Emperor with your human elite, with many divine-tier humans and Feral Kings as their witness!”

“If you kill me today, the Dragoncroc Emperor and the Golden-Winged Roc would stir unrest in days to come and war against you human elites!”

“The Golden-Winged Roc... stir unrest? A war of elites?”

Jiang He smiled faintly and whipped out colossal ‘chicken-wing’ with a wave of his hand, chuckling, “Don’t worry—there won’t be unrest.”

After all, I’ve already grilled the Golden-Winged Roc. What unrest could it stir?

And though the Dragoncroc Emperor was still around, Jiang He just need to make a trip in the next few days when he felt bored, and ask why it was spying on him back then...
