Chapter 236: It Really Wasn’t Me!

“Yes, Minister w.a.n.g. I’ll contact Commander Li right now.”

Zhou Yu nodded—he was certainly competent since he was both w.a.n.g Hou’s deputy and representative, and he certainly could call the shots on many matters.

As for w.a.n.g Hou...

Would he have the time to deal with such trivial tasks?

Today he would be cultivating in seclusion, and tomorrow he would be wandering outside, occasionally searching for heritage sites as well as studying certain history events, and would not be at his office for more than a handful of times in a month.

Even if he was back, he would be twiddling his thumbs and having tea from his Thermos cup, and would only make the decisions when there really is something important.

Still, w.a.n.g Hou called out to Zhou Yu just as he was about to leave and said, “Old Zhou, send word that no one should start conflict with the Feral Kings before I negotiated with the Dragoncroc Emperor.”

“Oh, and contact Jiang He—have him cultivate quietly for a while.”

For some reason, w.a.n.g Hou was unsettled once he thought about Jiang He.

The call was not getting through... could that kid have gone off to start trouble?

Did Cheng Dongfeng of the Eight Trigrams School not suspect Jiang He blew up Mount Dadong?

That said, was that not too far-fetched?

Even if Jiang He really has too much free time on his hands, how vast was Mount Dadong? Could he blow up hundreds of kilometers of land?

***

Meanwhile, inside the daemon heritage site of Mount Dadong.

Jiang He landed, and pried the daemonic mystic armor and slas.h.i.+ng bottle gourd from the Graywolf King’s corpse. Having experience from cultivating his Scarlet Flame Sword, Jiang He found how these two daemonic weapons and human mystic treasures differed.

That said, they were not all that different, since they were both basically mystic treasures!

After cultivation, those mystic treasures were nourished by blood and Daemonic Qi, imbuing it with concentrated and Daemonic Qi. If human cultivators attempted to use those daemonic weapons, they would first have to use their spells to grind away the Daemonic Qi on those weapons before giving blood offerings.

“But while they are both mystic treasures, why do I feel like the daemonic mystic armor be so lacking in quality?”

Jiang He thought as he studied the silver armor. “If this was an immortal novel and the different cla.s.ses of mystic treasures apply, the silver armor is probably a mystic item and less than a soul item.”

“On the other hand, the air blades from this bottle gourd are not weak, and would probably be a soul item.”

Above Mystic items, soul items would be sage items and immortal weapons—although Jiang He was not sure about the specifics.

Either way, this slas.h.i.+ng bottle gourd was very special.

Once nourished with Daemonic Qi and mana, it could be charged with Daemonic Qi and one’s essence to release those blood-colored slashes. Of course, human cultivator would need to nourish it with their mana if they wish to use it.

“But it’s useless for me. I’ll bring it back and give it to Dumbo and Trumbo.”

Putting away the slas.h.i.+ng bottle gourd and the silver armor, Jiang He searched around once more to find a jade scroll from the Graywolf King’s body. The text was written in a special script that Jiang He felt a throbbing headache just from looking at it...

He could not understand a single word!

“Well, this might be a daemonic cultivation method. I’ll talk to w.a.n.g Hou later to see if he has someone who could get it translated.”

Naturally, he would leave the Graywolf King’s corpse either.

It was after he had retrieved everything when Yan Dehao ran up to him from the distance.

To prevent him from going on chatterbox mode again, Jiang He spoke first, “Grandmaster Yan, let’s search this heritage site thoroughly for other treasures and legacy items.”

“Why bother?”

Yan Dehao scowled—the daemonic attributes that grew out of his face was still fresh in his memory, and he added, “Didn’t you say before, that since this is a daemonic heritage site, us humans might not find the treasures there useful.

“I’ll exchange any treasures or legacy items you could find with cultivation resources of equal value.”

“Really?”

Delighted, Yan Dehao promptly searched around the heritage site as well. Even so, the heritage site was only that vast that vast, but neither he nor Jiang He found nothing after searching around.

Perhaps it was because this heritage site was one of the poorer ones, which was why the silver armor, slas.h.i.+ng bottle gourd and daemonic cultivation is everything the heritage site has to offer.

And since there are no treasures here, there was no need to keep searching.

“By the way... how are we supposed to leave, Mister Jiang?”

Yan Dehao suddenly asked meekly.

Jiang He did a double take.

Right.

How were they supposed to leave?

While this daemonic heritage site did not match the Diamond Sect’s Womb Realm, but this was a mircroworld that formed naturally. Would it only open after a wek?

How boring would that be?

Whipping out his phone for a look, Jiang He saw that there was no signal on his phone at all.

Well...

Even his idea to contact w.a.n.g Hou, a veteran who had entered heritage sites repeatedly was impossible now.

“What should we do?”

“What should we do, Mister Jiang? We have no idea how to open this heritage site, and... aren’t we locked in here?”

“Mister Jiang...”

Fl.u.s.tered, Yan Dehao was running around in circles and stomped his foot. But just as he was about to continue his rant, a soft crack could be heard beneath him.

He looked down to find that the ground beneath his feet had split open.

It was not just beneath Yan Dehao’s feet either. The entire heritage site was shaking, its ground splitting apart as a daemonic wind gusted. Even the gray mist up in the skies was shaking and parting, seemingly churned by an invisible hand.

“How... why is this splitting?”

Yan Dehao exclaimed in shock. “Mister Jiang, I was not really using strength!”

Jiang He grabbed him at once and took to the air, and rushed towards the rift in the skies. The world seemed to spin around them the moment they reached the rift in the sky, after of which they arrived at the bottom of the ravine before.

Boom!

A dull echo rumbled, and Jiang He soon felt the ravine shaking as well. The tremor began to extend across every direction, and soon enough, all of Mount Dadong was shaking.

“Mister Jiang, I really wasn’t using that much power!

“I didn’t stomp that hard, you have to believe me!”

Yan Dehao cried, but Jiang He ignored that entirely as he held him with one hand and rose up to the night sky. The ravine crumbled violently just as he reached the horizon, and the rumbling continued deafeningly, with dirt and ground kicking up into the night sky.

The violent quaking from the ground’s grumbling only stopped after six minutes.

With a gust of True Qi, Jiang He blew away the dust storm as he descended. He then found that several dozen kilometers of land had collapsed entirely around the ravine, just as the ma.s.sive earthquake cracked apart, stretching out over fifty kilometers, with untold peaks split apart, reduced to crumbled mountains and slopes.

“Woah!”

Jiang He could not help gasping.

Wasn’t that simply... frightening?

How major would the chain reaction be caused by the collapse of the heritage site?

Fortunately, the heritage site was inside Mount Dadong.

If it had been beneath a city, would the entire city not collapse into debris?
