Chapter 184: Why Did You Have To Be Reborn?
The great sorcerer always thought Yu s.h.i.+jin would be the one who came.
He never expected it to be someone else.
He possessed a head of snowy-white hair and was seated in front of a gold-colored statue of a rare beast. He looked very grand and ethereal.
Su Huiqing was still clutching onto the guard who had been watching the entrance. After noticing the great sorcerer, she flung the guard to the ground.
She looked at the great sorcerer, that lovely face of hers as cold as a glacier.
“You are…” The great sorcerer looked at Su Huiqing with a puzzled expression.
“Give me back what belongs to me.” Su Huiqing gazed past him, her eyes landing on the long red sword laid out behind him on the offerings table.
Her voice was steeped in ice.
The great sorcerer widened his eyes in shock as he sized up Su Huiqing. “Su Huiqing?”
Su Huiqing was still playing with a silver needle in her hand. She glanced up and repeated. “I said, give it back to me.”
“It’s good that it’s you.” The great sorcerer finally ascertained her ident.i.ty. He surveyed Su Huiqing again before speaking in a grave voice. “Go back and tell Master Yu that you don’t want the Long Rainbow anymore. That you are giving it to your sister.”
He did not dare to go against Yu s.h.i.+jin.
But the Su Family did need this Long Rainbow.
As a result, he was trying to make use of Su Huiqing.
“Give… the Young Mistress of the Su Family?” Su Huiqing instantly lowered her eyes and whispered. “Great sorcerer… it is mine.”
She raised her hand to conceal the glint in her eyes.
Her heart was a sea of icy chilliness.
“Don’t forget your position! You are part of the Su Family, dead or alive!” The great sorcerer flung his sleeves and glared frostily at Su Huiqing. “Anyway, your previous body is already dead. What can you do with that sword?”
“You don’t need to bother about how I use it. I can give up anything else, but not Long Rainbow.” Su Huiqing clenched the silver needle in her palm, staring straight back at the sorcerer. “Unless you want me to paint the sorceress hall in blood today!”
Her final sentence was filled with bloodl.u.s.t.
“Paint the sorceress hall in blood? You have turned against us!” The great sorcerer swept an incense holder to the ground. “Have you forgotten who gave you this life? Your life has never belonged to you, right from the day you were born! If not for me, do you think you can still be here today?!”
Su Huiqing just lifted her eyelids, her face completely impa.s.sive.
She knew all that.
Her life had never belonged to her, right from the day she was born.
“I took Su Chen’s place as the experiment subject, is that not enough?” She looked at the great sorcerer with murky eyes.
From the day she was born for 10 whole years. She had been a subject of experiments.
No one cared how she lived those past 10 years.
The great sorcerer just stared coldly at Su Huiqing. “That is just your rightful duty. Didn’t the Su Family give you your freedom thereafter?”
“Ha.” The corners of Su Huiqing’s lips curled up in a forced smile.
A very mocking smile.
Her rightful duty.
“What are you smiling at?” The great sorcerer frowned. “Don’t think that you can do whatever you want just because Master Yu has your back.”
At that, the great sorcerer glanced at Su Huiqing with some trepidation. “Oh yes, I nearly forgot. How did you come to know Master Yu?”
He could still remember that day.
That person standing before him drenched in fresh blood. Life for life.
The great sorcerer didn’t understand why Yu s.h.i.+jin would be willing to do so much for such a jinx.
At first, he thought he must have been doing all that for Unknown Island’s Queen of Mercenaries.
But to his astonishment, Yu s.h.i.+jin mentioned Su Huiqing instead of Su S.
He had no idea why did such a mighty and powerful figure fall for someone like her?
Su Huiqing didn’t wish to waste any more words with the great sorcerer. She pulled up her collar and looked at him. “I will say it one last time. Give Long Rainbow back to me.”
The great sorcerer was not as fearful of Su Huiqing as he was of Yu s.h.i.+jin.
“Useless tras.h.!.+ This is Unknown Island. Do you think you can behave so wantonly here?!” The great sorcerer thought she was still that little Su Huiqing from so many years ago, pliable and easily manipulated. He swung a fist out at her.
Su Huiqing remained standing there.
A cold, cruel smile on her face.
Just as the great sorcerer attacked, she flicked her wrist, sending a set of needles flying out with a swish.
They penetrated the great sorcerer’s nerves.
A heavy tension befell the hall.
The smell of blood mixed with the smell of incense.
Su Huiqing reached over and slowly wiped the needles clean of bloodstains. She then glanced at the great sorcerer with a nonchalant expression.
“How did you attain such skills?!” The great sorcerer didn’t even have time to cry out. He just stared at Su Huiqing with fear and shock. “Impossible!”
Even though her body had been changed, she should still possess the talents of her former self.
And the former Su Huiqing was a useless piece of trash.
How did she become so formidable?!
Su Huiqing remained silent and just stepped toward Long Rainbow. She bent over and easily drew out that sword.
“Buzz…”
Long Rainbow emitted a happy hum on being held in her hands.
Looking straight ahead, she headed toward the front doors of the hall.
“Hold it right there, Su Huiqing. How dare you try and leave?!” The great sorcerer snapped out of his trance. His uninjured hand shuddered and swept an incense holder to the ground. “You have turned against us!”
A bunch of people rushed in and surrounded her.
“Great sorcerer, why can’t I leave?” Su Huiqing smirked at him. “Don’t forget that Su Huiqing, that girl who was treated as a lost cause by the Su Family, has already died over 10 years ago.”
The great sorcerer naturally understood her meaning.
The current Su Huiqing was no longer that Su Huiqing who owed a living to the Su Family.
That was why she dared to impudently harm the great sorcerer.
“You are casting aside the Su Family now that you have someone from the Yu Family, is that it?” The great sorcerer’s eyes dimmed, and he trembled all over as he laughed slyly. “A pity that Yu Family guy didn’t come here with you. You will leave Long Rainbow here today, whether you like it or not.”
At that moment, Su Huiqing’s cell phone vibrated.
She took it out and scanned it.
It was a message from Chi Yue: Captain, where are you?
She had come here not just to retrieve Long Rainbow, but had also arranged with Chi Yue to investigate that prison and suss out information about Su Lun.
This would also be the first time that Chi Yue would officially meet the reborn captain face to face. As a result, this was of utmost importance.
Su Huiqing typed a short reply: Give me 10 minutes.
Thereafter, she turned and headed for the outside, sword in hand.
Completely ignoring the great sorcerer’s threat.
However, her eyes hardened as she turned.
Why was the great sorcerer always bringing up the Yu Family?
Su Huiqing tucked her hand in her pocket as she thought about Yu s.h.i.+jin. She had no idea whether he was still waiting for her.
“You little scamp. Not only did you cause your parents’ death the very year of your birth, you are now bullying your teachers and desecrating your ancestors!” The great sorcerer saw that she was really leaving, and immediately grabbed the spear beside him, which he used for religious rites. He aimed it straight at Su Huiqing.
The Su Family of Unknown Island.
And her former parents.
They were memories lodged deep in Su Huiqing’s mind.
So deep that she could barely recall them anymore.
She was completely stunned by the great sorcerer’s mention of them.
The usually tyrannical Su Huiqing turned pale.
At the same time, her shoulder was gashed, and her white s.h.i.+rt was quickly stained with fresh red blood.
The wound was quite big, but it was like she did not feel any pain.
She stood as straight as a pine tree.
“How did the Su Family give birth to a jinx like you?” The great sorcerer saw that Su Huiqing was significantly affected by his words and so continued on this thread. “You should have just remained dead. Why did you have to be reborn? Have you not caused enough damage to the Su Family!”
Su Huiqing clenched her fists.
Lowering her eyes, which appeared to have lost all light.
“Are you done?” She caught the spear which had once again been thrust her way, her hand grasping the sharp tip of the weapon. She gazed at the great sorcerer calmly. “Can I leave now?”
Fresh blood trickled out from her pierced palm.
“You still think you can leave?” The great sorcerer glared viciously at Su Huiqing.
She was indeed the freak that would be the end of the Su Family.
It was time for her to die.
She ended up bringing an opponent as dangerous as the Yu Family against the Su Family.
“This person is the bane of the Su Family and the entire Unknown Island.” He gazed at Su Huiqing with hostility and waved his hand. “We will only have peace if we kill her. Only then can the Young Mistress truly carry on the Su Family name.”
The moment he spoke those words, the people surrounding Su Huiqing looked at her with different eyes.
Su Huiqing just chuckled. She had always respected this great sorcerer. He had raised her, and so she thought he was different from those people who had always detested her.
She never imagined that he had raised her just so she could take her sister’s place in death.
It was a quiet night.
Suddenly, the thunderous sounds of a motor engine reverberated through the air.
“Great sorcerer, an unidentified team has suddenly appeared outside…” At this moment, an anxious voice reported through the communications device beside the great sorcerer.
But he was abruptly cut off before he could finish his report.
