Chapter 34: Have Faith In Me
Translator: Atlas Studios Editor: Atlas Studios
Su Huiqing did not know that Yu Xiangyang was already rus.h.i.+ng over to the Su Residences.
She and Su Ruohua were sitting in the car as they drove along the main road.
In the car.
Su Ruohua sat upright at the backseat of the car, looking rather elegant. However, her face looked rather gloomy as she ma.s.saged her temples. “Qingqing, why did you go to the Zhang Corporation?”
Su Huiqing placed one hand on the windowsill while she held her phone with her other hand.
She curled her lips up. “Shen Anan told me.”
“Shen Anan…” Su Ruohua said her name and her eyes darkened. She turned around to face Su Huiqing. “Qingqing, please try to avoid her in the future. She’s too scheming. You will lose out if you b.u.mp heads with her.”
Upon hearing that, Su Huiqing stopped spinning her phone.
“Mom.” She turned around and stared at Su Ruohua. For a moment, Su Ruohua thought that Su Huiqing looked elegantly beautiful. “I know that I have made you and grandpa worried for the past seventeen years, but please have faith in me now.”
Su Ruohua glanced at her and froze. “Alright, let’s continue this conversation once we get back…”
Su Huiqing knew that Su Ruohua and Su Lun were different from Yu Xiangyang and the rest. Yu Xiangyang did not interact with her before and thus, it was normal for him to think that she was just hiding her talents.
But Su Ruohua and Su Lun watched Su Huiqing grow up.
It was hard to believe that a dumb person like her would turn the tables for the better.
She didn’t mind it before since she believed that they would see her changes with time.
However, she had to take action now.
A clear and powerful voice broke the silence in the car.
“I was the one who beat Little Uncle at the car racing compet.i.tion.”
Su Huiqing continued playing with her phone while still resting her hand on the windowsill of the car. She slightly lowered her head to face Su Ruohua, and with that, her pitch-black eyes looked sharper than ever.
A seventeen-year-old brat claimed that she defeated the best racer in Country Z?! Anyone who heard that would probably burst into laughter.
“You don’t have to console me.” Su Ruohua seemed amused. “Your uncle returned to the International a.s.sociation to find details about that person. Even the Zhang Family gave up on finding that person, and yet you dare claim that it was you? Stop joking with me…”
Su Huiqing did not explain further and casually unwrapped a piece of chewing gum. She turned to the side, and in an indifferent tone of voice, she said, “Stop the car.”
Her expression and tone were so indifferent that it surprised both Su Ruohua and the chauffeur.
Su Huiqing cut off Su Ruohua.
Su Huiqing popped the chewing gum into her mouth and got out of the car. She narrowed her eyes. “Chauffeur, please move to the pa.s.senger seat.”
Did she want to drive? The chauffeur felt a little skeptical about her driving skills.
“Move to the pa.s.senger seat,” repeated Su Huiqing in a calm tone.
This time, the chauffeur swiftly moved to the front pa.s.senger seat.
They were on a private road leading to the Su Residences, with both sides of the road covered with flowers and gra.s.s. To remind the drivers to slow down, they placed a hump in every 50 meters of the road. As a result, most drivers would not drive beyond 30 kilometers per hour.
“Miss Su! Please slow down!” Seeing that the car was driving at a speed of 160 km/hr and was about to knock onto the flowers, the chauffeur was frightened to his wits. He exclaimed, “Stop the car!”
However, Su Huiqing did not seem to care and continued driving. Annoyed by the driver, she coldly spat two words out of her mouth. “Shut up!”
After that, she turned the steering wheel and stepped on the gas… ‘Swoosh.’
—
The car did a 180 degrees turnabout!
The wind blew into the car through the open window and the screeching sounds of the tires rubbing against the road drifted into their ears.
A clean round off!
She stepped on the accelerator and the car drifted across the road.
…
Three minutes later. At the doorstep of the Su Residences.
A black car stopped at the entrance with a screech!
Su Huiqing stepped out of the car, her legs looking very long under her skirt.
Su Huiqing opened the car door to the backseat, and she took out her backpack before casually throwing it over her shoulders.
“Mom, do you believe me now?” She stuffed her hands into her pocket and slightly lowered her head to meet her eyes. She softly chuckled. “I beat Little Uncle and there’s more that you do not know about me, so…”
She slowly said, “Have faith in me.”
Su Ruohua remained frozen in her seat, still unable to comprehend what had just happened.
“Old w.a.n.g, just now…” She turned around and looked at the chauffeur who wore a look of excitement on his face.
The chauffeur tried to hide his excitement. “Young Master Jiu’s speed limit was only 100 km/hr, but Missy’s speed was… 160 km/hr! Do you know what that means?”
–
A middle-aged lady was sitting with Su Lun in the living room of the Su Residences.
“Old Master Su, I don’t know what has gotten into Mingxi and the others. I don’t understand why they had to be so cruel to the Su Family. I am really… sorry.” The lady pulled an apologetic face.
Su Lun held the cup in his hands and said in a calm voice, “It has nothing to do with you.”
Old Master Su was not as warm and welcoming as before, and Madam Zhang sighed. She knew that there was no going back on this matter and she could no longer salvage the situation.
She took her bag. “Take care and I will visit you another time.”
She had just turned around when she saw a girl walking in.
Su Huiqing casually threw her bag onto the table and stuffed her hands into her pocket.
She squinted her eyes and draped her school jacket over her shoulders, revealing the snowy white blouse she was wearing.
She was nothing like how the rumors described her to be.
Upon seeing Madam Zhang, she turned her head and greeted her with eyes filled with wickedness. “Nice to meet you, auntie.”
She knew Madam Zhang very well, for she was nice to Su Huiqing in the past.
Madam Zhang looked at her and gave her a small, hard smile. However, it seemed that she had no idea what to say as she gripped the strap of her bag tighter. She was about to leave when she heard Uncle Chen’s voice.
“Old Master, Old Master Yu, and Young Master Yu are here.”
‘The Yu Family?’ Madam Zhang’s heart skipped a beat.
She raised her head and saw an old man hastily walking into the living room.
“Miss Su!” Upon seeing Su Huiqing, the old man who was usually too lazy to even interact with the other n.o.ble families in Green City, Old Master Yu, politely greeted Su Huiqing.
The most shocking thing was Su Huiqing did not even seem flattered by it at all.
She took her cup and calmly drank her water before slightly turning her head. She asked, “What’s wrong?”
Her tone of voice was devoid of emotions.
However, the ill-tempered Old Master Yu and Yu Xiangyang did not seem offended by it at all.
The situation took Madam Zhang aback. She wanted to take a look, but Uncle Chen had walked over to lead her to the door. “Madam Zhang, this way, please.”
Madam Zhang naturally had no reason to stay.
Her mind went into a flurry when she was on her way home. The Zhang Family had tried to make peace with the Yu Family for so many years but to no avail. Yet, the Yu Family became so chummy with the Su Family?
“Mingxi.” When she reached home, she immediately saw Zhang Zheng and Zhang Mingxi talking to each other. She could not help but ask, “Are you guys serious?”
“Mom, can you not interrupt us right now?!” Zhang Mingxi’s expression immediately turned sour. “The press conference is next week, how are we not serious?”
Madam Zhang knew that her son was too conceited to even listen to whatever she was going to say next, but she still had to express her thoughts. “Whether or not you believe me, that brat from the Su Family seems different from the rumors. I dropped by at the Su Residences and I saw the Yu Family visiting her.”
“I wanted to ask the Yu Family to join our side, but they’re actively seeking their doom.” Zhang Mingxi scoffed, “Well, they can’t blame me for whatever happens then!”
