Su Ye soon discovered that he couldn't precisely distinguish between cognitive domain learning and psych.o.m.otor domain learning. He felt that he had let Bloom down. He then decided to focus on distinguis.h.i.+ng between these two types of learning in the coming month so that he could learn more efficiently.
After doing his reflection, Su Ye realized that he had less time for contemplating this month. Therefore, he took a walk in the courtyard and pondered at the same time.
Su Ye firmly believed that thinking during study and working hours was not real thinking; it was just repeating.
The so-called thinking done by most people was merely reinforcing their prejudice of the past.
Only by setting aside a specific time period for thinking could it be considered real thinking.
In the courtyard, Su Ye broke away from the overly narrow convergent thinking and entered the process of divergent thinking. All kinds of thoughts came one after another. Occasionally, a particularly important point would surface in his mind and he would record it in the spellbook to avoid forgetting it.
After thinking and sorting things out, Su Ye's understanding of the past became deeper and the direction of his future became clearer –
Focusing on learning this month was indeed the right choice. According to his initial idea, he would first purchase salad from Kaerton at cost price, and then make fast food such as hamburgers or sandwiches. Even though he could hand the business over to others to manage in the future, he would have to do everything by himself in the beginning. If he did so, he would indeed earn money, but it would take up a lot of his study time.
Now, it seemed that the benefits of studying far outweighed the money. Hence, he should set his priorities right. The order of his priorities should be learning magic, studying, and making money. Money could be exchanged for talents that he couldn't get by learning magic and studying. However, without magic or learning abilities, even if he had plenty of talents, he would at most become the strongest and richest Gold Mage in the world. He would still be crushed to death by a Legend or a great n.o.ble with a single finger.
Being clear about their own intentions, understanding their own needs, and setting priorities straight were the most important things in a person's life. They might seem like the easiest tasks, but in reality, they were the most difficult ones. Anyone who thought that they were more or less doing the three things were definitely not doing so. Su Ye couldn't do them either; therefore, every once in a while, he had to ponder about these questions in order to strengthen his own understanding of himself. Moreover, the world was changing and he would change as well.
He had decided the order of his priorities to be learning magic, studying, and making money. That was the reason why he gave up running the business himself and even gave up the majority of the shares. He had done so in order to safely and steadily obtain profits. The shares weren't the most important thing for him now; the crucial thing was whether he could grow until the day when he could protect his own achievements. If he couldn't protect himself, all his wealth was just a straw which could be easily plucked away by the n.o.bles. For the sake of his growth, he must constantly abnegate his desires and choose the most important thing.
His goal was to become a Legendary Mage! He wanted to become the real Plato! He wanted…
Su Ye raised his head to look at the sky.
After a month of study, Su Ye had a clearer understanding of this world. A dream had already formed in his mind.
One could only choose the right path by looking down from above.
After contemplating his life, Su Ye continued to face reality and did his homework.
The next morning, Su Ye went straight to the Academy's Arena. His first training regimen involved using the Magic Rope, Wind Dagger technique, and Floating Radiance continuously. After exhausting his magic power, he went to meditate at the meditation area and recovered his energy. Only then did he go to cla.s.s.
As usual, Su Ye and Hort studied together while taking a walk at the academy's lawn.
When the bell rang, the two of them returned to the cla.s.sroom.
Not long after, the fiery-red-haired Niedern appeared in the cla.s.sroom. He scanned all the students with his two eyes, one real and one fake.
Some of the students were uneasy, some were full of expectation, and some looked uneasy but were actually full of expectation.
Niedern was as serious as usual. He opened the spellbook and glanced at the contents of the spellbook. He looked up and said, “Three people got full marks in the basic magic test this time.”
Many students sighed in admiration. Although the test was not difficult, it was not a piece of cake either. It was possible to get 90 marks, but the possibility of getting 100 marks was very slim.
Niedern announced, “The three are Lake, Palos, and Rolon.”
All the students in the first four rows turned their heads to look at the three people in the fifth row.
The three of them actually looked calmly at Niedern, not meeting any of the students' gazes.
Hort laughed, as if he was completely used to this scene.
Jimmy grinned while Ebert hurriedly covered his face.
Su Ye was a little embarra.s.sed. There were seven people at the table, and three of them had full marks. Should he be ashamed of himself?
“I would like to touch on Su Ye's performance,” Niedern's voice sounded.
To Su Ye, Niedern's voice was simply the roar of the devil.
Why was it him again?
Most of the students tried hard to hold back their laughter. Only a few of them chortled rudely. Obviously, since Niedern had specifically called on Su Ye, it meant that Su Ye's results must be very bad. It was very common for teachers to first announce the top-scorers, and then criticize the lowest scorer.
However, Hutton scowled at those who were laughing, “What are you laughing at? We are all cla.s.smates. What's so funny about it?”
Although those students had good family backgrounds, their families could not be compared to that of a n.o.ble. It was unwise for them to directly clash with Hutton, so they immediately turned their heads.
The atmosphere in the cla.s.sroom was very awkward.
Su Ye was a little puzzled. He could answer every question from the test yesterday. Even if there were mistakes and he did not get full marks, his performance wouldn't be so poor until he needed to be criticized, right?
Niedern's real eye revealed a playful look as he said slowly, “Our cla.s.s could have had four full-mark-scorers and surpa.s.sed the other cla.s.ses. However, Su Ye misspelled a word and lost two points, obtaining only 98 points. Because of him, we lost the chance to surpa.s.s the other cla.s.ses. That's why I want to criticize him.”
Gasping sounds could be heard all around the cla.s.sroom.
Everyone looked at Su Ye in disbelief.
The faces of the few people who mocked Su Ye just now turned as red as a baboon's backside.
Even Hutton, who spoke up for Su Ye just now, looked at him in disbelief. Hutton was merely supporting Su Ye to prevent himself from getting beaten up again. How could this be?
Lake and Rolon, who had full marks, could not believe it either. This meant that Su Ye's actual level was on par with theirs!
Palos lowered her head. Her delicate eyebrows slightly furrowed as her blue eyes twinkled with confusion.
“Is he really the third from the bottom?”
Su Ye immediately knew what went wrong. There should be a word that the previous Su Ye had remembered wrongly. He didn't notice the mistake and had written the wrong spelling on his paper.
“Teacher, this is the first time I got such a high score. Shouldn't you praise me?” Su Ye asked righteously.
Niedern nodded and said, “That's why I want to praise Hort.”
Su Ye blinked repeatedly. What did Niedern mean by that?
Everyone's gaze focused on Hort.
Hort's face was flushed red, his breathing was heavy, and his heart was pounding. The sound of his heartbeat could shatter the table.
Niedern's gaze became gentle as he explained, “This time, Hort scored 59 points. If he didn't misspell five words, he would have pa.s.sed. Everyone can see how hard Hort works. Please give him a round of applause. I hope that he will continue to work hard and obtain better results.”
Niedern took the lead and applauded. All the students congratulated Hort happily.
