She popped one into her mouth and her eyes beamed. “Tasty. How did you make them? Teach me next time.”

“Sure.” Shu Yan handed her stuff over to the chauffeur to put away and got inside the car with her kids. The s.p.a.ce inside still didn’t seem too crowded even with two adults and three children.

“This is my daughter Duoduo. Duoduo, say hi to the big sister and the little brother.” Hu Ruixue rocked her daughter who was in her arms.

Shu Yan looked at the little girl in Hu Ruixue’s arms. She had pale light-colored skin and her eyes were large and round. Her eyelashes were long, black, and thick, and her little nose pointy. Her little mouth resembled a cherry and she was cute and delicate like a doll.

“Your daughter is so cute!” Shu Yan couldn't help but said.

“Yours too. And your son is handsome as well,” said Hu Ruixue sincerely.

Shu Yan felt that she was just being polite. Naturally, she felt that her own daughter was very pretty but, truth was, Shu Jinxi wasn’t raised properly in the past. She was much better now but really just mediocre in looks. Tianbao, on the other hand, was fairly good looking.

“Duoduo, this is Aunty Shu, a good friend of mommy. Be a good girl and say ‘Aunty Shu’.” They waited but Duoduo didn’t say anything. Hu Ruixue didn’t get upset but carried on with the introduction. “This one is your Sister JingJing and this one is Little Brother Tianbao. You play with them in a little while, alright?” Duoduo, in Hu Ruixue’s arms, was still in a trance as though she had not heard a word that Hu Ruixue had said.

Shu Yan noticed something immediately. Her mouth opened and closed but she didn’t say anything. She smiled and changed the subject. “You sure you can be away from the office today? Everything has been taken care of already?”

“We are in preparation of the right now. There are specific workers to follow up at the television station. I don’t need to micromanage so I thought I’d take a breather and get out for a little bit.” Hu Ruixue, holding tightly onto Duoduo said to JingJing and Tianbao, “I am a friend of your mother. You can call me Aunty Xue. Here’s some presents for the two of you.”

Hu Ruixue brought out two delicate boxes and handed them over to JingJing and Tianbao. Inside of them were two pieces of jades, obviously of great quality. Shu Yan thought about declining them but finally remained silent. She, too, had prepared a gift for Duoduo but after seeing what Hu Ruixue had prepared, she felt that hers was a little on the light side.

“Oh, stop hiding it already. Bring it out.” Hu Ruixue removed the box from Shu Yan’s hand. “I already got the short end of the stick exchange your one present with my two and you still want to hide yours and not give it to me? No way I am going to let you do that.” Hu Ruixue joked with her.

“I like it a lot and Duoduo likes it too.” She put it on Duoduo as she spoke.

The child in Hu Ruixue’s arms still didn’t move or say a word.

After they got out of the car, the have arrived at a manor.

“This is a private manor that belongs to a friend of my father. Not only does it have a golf course and a polo field, it also has an indoor pool. It’s a heated one and we can go swim there. In addition, there’s a mini amus.e.m.e.nt park as well. I think the kids will enjoy it.”
