Chapter 1510: Death

The city lord was shocked by the sight in front of him.

He imagined a bunch of scenarios and possibilities for her daughter's delay, but never did he imagine this scenario.

The water creatures are standing guard outside of the city and he can see many of them already barged in and they are all lining up the people as they brought them into the estate.

They killed all of the guards and they are bringing those deadbodies before they threw them into the river.

As soon as the city lord arrived, they noticed him and surrounded him. The city lord understood that his city has been sacked and his s.p.a.ce gate would have been destroyed.

He genuinely wished that his daughter might have gotten stuck in the grand elder's place. He would be relieved as long as he could confirm that the water creatures came here after his daughter went to the grand elder's place.

But he has no way to confirm what happened.

As he was trying to make sense of the situation, the water creatures already rounded him up. In fact, there are dozens of them standing around him as they zeroed in on him.

The city lord took his weapon and started fighting.

He didn't care whether he was surrounded by dozens or even hundreds of these creatures.

He wants to find his daughter and move towards the city with all his might.

He swung his blades as he disregarded all of the attacks that are coming at him from all the sides.

He cut through the line of creatures and made his way to the city gate, while he was stabbed with water spears at least 18 times on his back and ten times in his front.

In this process, he killed a creature with every swing of his sword.

The commotion attracted the attention of all of the creatures in the city and they all ran towards him. The red and blue didn't follow any pecking order as they tried to take a shot at him.

The people and some officials that are currently being led to the city lord's estate also saw this and ran after the creatures. They wanted to see the commotion and also try to find a chance to escape if possible.

The city lord broke through the city gate as he bled from all of the stab wounds. After some time, the bleeding stopped as the blood turned viscous and didn't come out of the wounds anymore.

But the man was unstoppable. He killed and killed these creatures and he finally saw some of the officials watching him from the side.

He looked at them and raised his sword as he waved at them and yelled.

"WHERE IS MY DAUGHTER?"

The officials who didn't want to attract any attention were stunned and they cursed the city lord under their breath.

But the city lord didn't care. When he noticed that the officials are trying to escape, he immediately made his way toward them. Even if he is stumbling on the rocks and walls, he disregarded all of it and reached near the officials.

"Where is my daughter? Is she safe?"

The officials were stunned by the old man's persistence, but the creatures are relentlessly attacking him.

*STAB* *STAB*

Two creatures stabbed both of the old man's legs making him collapse.

But he didn't even flinch as he asked.

"Is my daughter safe? Where is she?"

The officials finally came to their senses and one of them spoke.

"City lord.. that.."

"She is safe."

The official replied and finally, the city lord's face brightened up. Even though it is covered with blood, there is a smile on his face.

"Really?"

"Yes. The attack just happened a few hours ago. Your daughter already went to the grand elder's place in the s.p.a.ce gate formation.

The creatures destroyed the s.p.a.ce gate and she didn't come back at all."

The old man finally smiled and let go of his sword. He knelt on the floor as the creatures finished him off.

They stabbed him to death and the creatures then proceeded to carry his body to the river.

The officials exchanged a look of melancholy as they looked at their city lord go as a dead body.

They really felt sad for him. He was a righteous man, who treated the rest of the city fairly. He took his responsibilities as a city lord. Even though they felt a momentary sense of anger towards him for calling them out, they only felt guilty after that.

If there is one person they knew that didn't deserve this kind of death within the clan, then it is the city lord.

"At least, he died in peace."

One of the officials said as he looked at his friend.

"Yes. In peace knowing that his daughter is safe."

"Why is this happening to us all of a sudden? What are these creatures? Why are they attacking the city like this? Is it another Mari clan's enemy?"

"Who knows?"

Both of them were escorted by the creatures to the city lord's estate, where they sat along with the rest of the citizens. The whole estate is packed with all of the people in the city and even the streets that are directly out of the estate are flooded by them.

The creatures then destroyed everything else in the city. The structures, walls, formations, didn't leave anything. They also moved around and destroyed every other resource that is under the control of the city.

After the destruction was complete, the creatures left the three words.

DUSK HAS ARRIVED in the middle of the rubble before they all made their way to the river and went back to the sea.

The people left behind in the city immediately took the chance to escape from the place.

Meanwhile.

Back at the sea.

Right after the departure of the city lord, the water creatures already made their move on the camp. Without the leaders.h.i.+p of the city lord, everything became easy.

They immediately killed them.

They didn't spare a single elite or the soldier.

The creatures went back into the sea along with the deadbodies leaving the whole place empty. The few people that managed to save themselves escape were not pursued.

The creatures were just called back into the sea.

Philip looked at the tablet and after making sure that every creature came, he called the crew.

"We are leaving this place. Pick all of the towers and pack them. We are going to another sea city under the control of the Mari clan."

The crew immediately followed the orders and the packing began.

That night, the trio and the rest floated over the carrier until they are completely away from the whole city. They left the water creatures back and didn't take them away.

After the carrier left, Philip pressed something on the tablet and the creatures swam deep into the city.

There are bundles of crystal sticks that look similar to Watt set up in the captured city.

But this time, the crystal sticks are way too many. Way more than what they set up in terms of sheer number.

They placed some randomly in the sea while some of the creatures swam out of the water to place them within the forest.

After the whole set-up was finished, they just stayed in the water.

The next day. In the city that was destroyed. The Grand Elder, the city lord's daughter and some of the grand elder's subordinates arrived hurriedly.

"What the h.e.l.l happened here?"

He yelled out loud as he looked at the three words.

The three words he didn't want to see.

He looked at the city lord's estate and immediately went there to get the news. Some of the officials that are left alive explained the situation. Every soldier and guard gathered for the combined army against the Gaja clan has been killed by the creatures and they were taken away into the river and to the sea.

These people are left behind for some reason.

The grand elder became furious.

"How did this happen?"

"When the city lord went to the port city to help out, this city was left defenceless. The formation was not as effective without the city lord and the rest of his elite force. So, we are stuck here. They entered and destroyed the formations before they took over the city."

One of the officials said this and the grand elder suddenly felt a thorn in his throat.

Because he is the one that told the city lord to handle this situation by himself with the forces gathered for the war.

Because of that all of the forces were dead.

If the forces have been sent to the war just like the original time, they wouldn't have died in vain here.

He then looked at the three words in the rubble and gritted his teeth.

"We are going to the sea. Right now. I am going to take back the port city and kill every last one of these creatures. Lead the way."
