Chapter 2557 Star Tracer And Head Physician
"I've heard of the Kang Clan's wealth, but this is certainly on another level," Envoy Liu said, visibly impressed. "Perhaps only the Court Leaders would be qualified to use something like this."
"Indeed. If I recall correctly, the Immortal Court has only four Peak Grade Immortal s.h.i.+ps of this caliber—one for each of the Four Courts," Ziran remarked, stroking his chin thoughtfully.
The comparison between the Immortal Court and the Kang Clan was striking. The Immortal Court, with its long history and immense wealth, stood as an unshakable pillar of the realm. Yet, here was the Kang Clan, a relatively newer ent.i.ty, possessing something of equal value.
What made it even more impressive was the Kang Clan's ability to mobilize such a s.h.i.+p for Lin Mu, while the Immortal Court's Peak Grade Immortal s.h.i.+ps were reserved for only the most extreme cases.
"That's the Kang Clan's flags.h.i.+p, the 'Star Tracer,'" Lady Kang said proudly.
~WHOOSH~WHOOSH~WHOOSH~
As the Star Tracer approached, a group of cultivators flew out from it and landed gracefully in front of Lady Kang.
"We pay our respects to Mistress Kang!" the cultivators chorused, bowing deeply.
Lin Mu observed the group and noted that their cultivation levels ranged from the Fourth to Seventh Tribulation Stage of the Immortal Realm. Most of them appeared to be relatively young, but the leaders were clearly experienced elders.
The strongest among them was an elder at the Seventh Tribulation Stage. Dressed in long blue-and-green robes and wearing a folded square hat reminiscent of those worn by physicians, he exuded an air of authority and skill.
"Daoist Lin Mu, this is Head Physician Zheng Guo Qiang," Lady Kang introduced. "He will take care of you and perform a thorough check-up."
"Ah, so you are the honored guest Mistress Kang mentioned," Head Physician Zheng said, cupping his hands in greeting. "My team and I will ensure that you are in peak condition."
"Let's head to the Star Tracer. They can perform a proper a.s.sessment there," Lady Kang suggested.
"Thank you. I appreciate it," Lin Mu replied. "Though, my hand has healed for the most part."
"We'll conduct a full a.s.sessment just to be certain, Lord Lin Mu. Please trust in our expertise," Head Physician Zheng a.s.sured him.
"All right," Lin Mu agreed before accompanying the Kang Clan delegation to the Star Tracer.
Once on board, Lady Kang led Lin Mu to a grand hall within the largest pavilion. The hall had been transformed into a state-of-the-art medical facility, complete with every piece of equipment one could imagine.
"May I examine you?" the Head Physician asked politely.
"Of course," Lin Mu replied, extending his hand.
The elder placed his fingers on Lin Mu's wrist and released a fine thread of his Immortal Sense, which delved into Lin Mu's body for a detailed inspection.
At first, the Head Physician's expression remained calm, but as his scan progressed, his demeanor s.h.i.+fted. By the time he finished, a look of astonishment was etched on his face.
"This may be presumptuous of me, Lord Lin Mu," the Head Physician began carefully, "but are you a dual Qi and body cultivator?"
"I am," Lin Mu confirmed.
"And has your body cultivation recently regressed?" the Head Physician asked next.
"Yes, that's correct," Lin Mu acknowledged.
"Not only do you cultivate the Tyrant Bull Marrow Secrets, but you also practice the Three Apertures Invoking Technique?" the physician queried, his tone tinged with disbelief.
"That's right," Lin Mu affirmed.
"No wonder… If anyone else attempted the same, they would have crippled themselves," the Head Physician said, shaking his head in amazement. "While the Immortal Court's Physique Restoring Pill has healed your physical injuries, your meridians will require more extensive care."
He paused before adding, "I also sense traces of another body cultivation technique within you. However, I cannot identify it. It appears to be much weaker—perhaps a Mortal Body Cultivation technique?"
"Yes, it's a technique I practiced back in the Spirit Realm," Lin Mu explained, impressed by the physician's perceptiveness.
"I strongly recommend that you abolish this technique," the Head Physician said, his tone laced with concern. "It is incomplete and places undue strain on your body."
"Abolish it?" Lin Mu raised an eyebrow. "I don't think that's possible—unless I regenerate my entire body."
"May I know what technique it is?" the Head Physician asked.
"Very well," Lin Mu said, handing over the manual for the True Gold Body Forging Arts. He saw no reason to hide it, as it held little value for Immortals.
The Head Physician reviewed the manual carefully while Lady Kang waited silently nearby.
"This… this is dreadful," the Head Physician exclaimed, looking up from the text. "Lord Lin Mu, this technique is not only incomplete but also highly detrimental! It's astonis.h.i.+ng that you managed to cultivate it successfully."
Lady Kang glanced at the manual and was equally taken aback. "He's right. You actually chose to practice this?" she asked incredulously.
"Well, I didn't have many options at the time," Lin Mu replied calmly. "It hasn't caused me any problems so far."
"It will become an issue in the future," the Head Physician warned. "This technique will begin to conflict with your other methods as you reach their peak. And given its unique nature, we cannot abolish it through conventional means."
"I plan to upgrade it eventually. I've found some clues about its origin," Lin Mu said, attempting to ease the physician's concerns.
"Just treat Lin Mu as best as you can for now, Head Physician Zheng," Lady Kang interjected, her confidence in Lin Mu unwavering.
"Understood," the Head Physician said, setting the manual aside. "Let's begin with your meridians."
He gestured for Lin Mu to lie down on a nearby bed and opened a box containing silver needles.
The Head Physician then performed an intricate acupuncture procedure, using his skills to stimulate Lin Mu's meridians. Simultaneously, he administered various pills and elixirs designed to aid in their recovery.
Lin Mu could feel his meridians healing rather fast and what should have taken him weeks was healed within a day's time!
