Chapter 57: The Betrayal of the Followers

Kong Li could not describe his feelings. In order to carry out his justice, he fought head on with a tough opponent, and his followers had left him.

The actions of the two people in the middle of the battle were the first to be noticed.

Seeing Jiang Yun stop beating up the little peac.o.c.k, some people let out a long sigh of relief; some rolled their eyes, calculating something shrewdly; and some people did not have time to retract the smile on their faces…

Jiang Yun swept his gaze over these faces one by one. There were all kinds of expressions on everyone’s faces. In a battle where the result had already been decided, there would be many schemes were being plotted.

Everyone followed Jiang Yun’s gaze and saw the few people who wanted to leave secretly.

“Li Nu, what are you doing?! Boss is still here! Where do you think you’re going?” A female demon in the form of a kingfisher angrily rebuked those who wanted to escape.

When Li Nu and the others saw that everyone had noticed them, there was no way for them to escape. They could only face it.

Some of them looked ashamed and did not dare to look at Kong Li, while others defended themselves righteously.

“If a person does not act for himself, he could only wait for doom. Your Majesty, no, Kong Li’s skills are inferior to others, and he can’t protect us. What’s wrong with us wanting to leave?” Li Nu spoke with conviction. Jiang Yun remembered that this was the person who had provoked him in the first place. He was also the one who had scolded him the most.

“You! You, you heartless d.a.m.n baboon. Do you still remember who saved you from the swamp crocodile demon’s mouth?!” That sparrow girl was so angry that she directly cursed at Li Nu.

“So what? I’ve served him all the way. I’ve repaid his kindness.” Li Nu looked like a dead pig that was not afraid of boiling water. When Kong Li saw this, he turned his head and stopped looking at them.

“You…”

“Enough!” sparrow girl wanted to say something else, but Kong Li interrupted her.

“He’s right. I’m not as good as him. You guys should leave. Don’t follow me anymore.” After Kong Li said that, he turned to Jiang Yun, his eyes turned red, “I’ve lost today. You can kill me or cut me up if you want! I only hope that you can let them go. They only followed me and didn’t do anything.”

As he finished speaking, he lowered his head deeply.

“Then you know what you should do.” Jiang Yun grabbed the peac.o.c.k feathers on Kong Li’s head, which had been pulled until there were only two feathers left and shook his head.

“You!” Kong Li was angry, but he quickly lowered his head and called out in a low voice, “Grandpa”.

“I can’t hear you. Speak louder. You’re a big bird, why are you sound like a mosquito?” Jiang Yun was aggressive and kept pus.h.i.+ng Kong Li.

Some of Kong Li’s loyal followers couldn’t stand it anymore. They wanted to stop Jiang Yun and take the blame. However, they were stopped by others, afraid that Jiang Yun would vent his anger on them.

Kong Li closed his eyes and shouted loudly, “Grandpa!”

The eyes of sparrow girl and the others turned red when they saw this. Their proud peac.o.c.k king was beaten up into a bad shape. He was grabbed by the head and even called the person who beat him “Grandpa”.

Some of the sensitive ones had already started to cry softly. They were afraid of angering Jiang Yun, so they covered their mouths tightly.

Jiang Yun looked at the group of drooping demonic beasts and then looked at the d.a.m.n peac.o.c.k that was probably crying pitifully under his hand. He felt that he really was a bully.

He was speechless for a moment. This little peac.o.c.k had set me up! He was the one who had been attacked for no reason, alright? What was wrong with you demonic beasts?

Jiang Yun really wanted to howl at the sky. It was too difficult for him.

In fact, Jiang Yun had already sensed their thoughts after they entered the barrier. He knew the cause of the matter. It was a pitiful creature that they had met last night. He said that he had been killed and robbed of his treasure. He hoped that the little peac.o.c.k would uphold justice for him.

Even with his toes, he knew who this pitiful creature was. It was a despicable villain, He Zhao.

Although this little peac.o.c.k was misled by others, he was indeed arrogant to the point of being annoying. He lacked the lesson of proper manner.

Moreover, this silly child was too gullible. He believed everything others said and accepted all sorts of random people. Jiang Yun wanted to teach him a good lesson and vent his anger at the same time.

Last night, two devilish children demolished his house when he was sleeping. This morning, these demon beasts were smashed his door. Furious rage had flowed through his veins.

He had beaten up this little peac.o.c.k. Jiang Yun felt that his anger had subsided. Now, it was time to get down to business.

Li Nu’s eyes darted around Jiang Yun and Kong Li as he made up his mind.

The scheming that Li Nu was giving off made Jiang Yun very unhappy. Ever since his domain had been expanding, even if Jiang Yun could not probe into people’s hearts, their emotions would still be accurately transmitted to him.

Jiang Yun hated people like Li Nu the most. They would resort to unscrupulous means and betray their trust. With a snap of his fingers, they would be reduced to ashes.

The sparrow girl and the others watched helplessly as Jiang Yun merely moved his fingers and those who wanted to escape turned into ashes. They were so frightened that they drew in a cold breath.

However, Kong Li was still immersed in his own sorrow. He had been abandoned, defeated, and might even be killed. Today was the darkest day in his life. It might even be his last day.

Sparrow girl looked at Kong Li, who was covered in wounds and sprawled on the ground. She suppressed the fear in her heart and took a step forward, wanting to say something.

“Alright, I won’t kill him. You can leave now.”

Jiang Yun didn’t want to listen to their whining. He waved his sleeve and threw Kong Li out of the barrier, hiding where he was and ignoring him.

After doing all this, Jiang Yun squatted down to check on Kong Li’s condition. He had a sense of propriety in his attacks, and demonic beasts were all resistant to attacks, he would not die.

But the peac.o.c.k’s head was really too big, and it was in the way.

Jiang Yun moved his finger, and Kong Li turned into a human figure. His clothes were ragged, and he was lying on the ground with blood all over his body. He was only breathing weakly.

Then, he restored the situation inside the barrier, as if it was a miracle.

Jiang Yun squatted down near Kong Li’s head without any care, and poked Kong Li’s head with his index finger.

“Hey, get up. I know you’re not dead.”

“Do it.” Kong Li’s weak voice traveled into Jiang Yun’s ears. “I lost. You killed me. There’s nothing to say.”

“I don’t want to kill you now.” Jiang Yun formed a recliner out of thin air and lay down comfortably.

“What else do you want? I’ve… I’ve already screamed.” Kong Li was filled with grief and indignation, thinking that Jiang Yun still wanted to humiliate him.

He only felt that the reputation of the peac.o.c.k royal family had been ruined by him alone. He had brought shame to his father, the true Great Peac.o.c.k King.

Jiang Yun took another sip of tea and ignored his angry words. He even wanted to tease him. It was rare to see someone who was not afraid of him after witnessing his supernatural power.

“Sigh, the legendary Great Peac.o.c.k King is so trashy. He can’t even touch the corner of my clothes.”

Kong Li didn’t want to talk to him. He lay on the ground and didn’t move.

Jiang Yun glanced at him. He felt Kong Li scolding him in his heart. He said that his father would find him after he died and avenge him. When that time came, he would know what the Great Peac.o.c.k King was.

“Tsk, tsk. Later, I will have people write a story book about what happened today. I will let the entire Divine Ao Mainland know that the Great Peac.o.c.k King was defeated by me and is still crying on the ground.”
