Chapter 29: Pa.s.sing On

Thinking about it, there are a lot of different ways of dealing with zombies, so shouldn’t it get easier from now on?

But I had been really naive and overlooked something very important.

Something that I should have noticed from the beginning.

In the beginning, our group were magically sealed inside by Melody’s father when we entered the house. In other words, he can control s.p.a.ce.

Oh my G.o.d! How could I overlook something so important!

You could say that the general magic of controlling other people’s actions is even better. They sealed the way into the house and I didn’t even notice it. I really failed……

As soon as I had reached the second floor, my surroundings went dark and when I lit the area up with a fireball, I discovered that I was in a graveyard.

I quietly put on my Eyepiece of Truth, but the the surroundings didn’t change. In other words, this isn’t some illusion they had created.

But I wasn’t happy at all. I would have rather discovered an illusion, after all. Then I could have tried some special magic that might have pulled me out of the illusion.

But since this isn’t an illusion, it’s going to be really troublesome.

For example, if the enemy sent me to some place I didn’t recognize then there isn’t anything I can do.

The only thing that I have that is similar to s.p.a.ce magic, is flash movement, but that has it’s own conditions. I don’t know where I am now, so I don’t know where I would be sent to.

But I discovered something even scarier.

Before we had clearly gone in during the day, and now it was nighttime.

If I had to guess, there are two possibilities.

First: It’s dark in my current timezone. Although the East and West are fairly large, they feel that they share the same time. But as we knew from the Earth, the planet is round. So if there is a place with daylight, then there are going to be nighttime regions.

Second: I wasn’t just sent through s.p.a.ce, but also through time. And now it is nighttime.

Of course, both of these possibilities are extremely painful, and unforgettable.

But when I looked into the air, I realized that there was another possibility.

Maybe……I’m not on the surface anymore?

Looking into the air, I saw nothing. It was complete blackness.

And at that moment, when I looked at a nearby tombstone, there was a white shadow that looked like a spirit.

“A ghost? Here in this desolate wilderness? There’s corporeal undead?”

Generally speaking, souls of the dead won’t come when they are summoned, especially in cities. But there is an exception. In the wilderness, where n.o.body is looking for them, the souls of the dead that don’t want to go to the Abyss for various reasons remain.

I locked onto the ghost and quickly followed it.

This wasn’t because of curiosity. The main reason was because this place is a wasteland and I had no idea where to go. Since there was something that was moving I would naturally follow it.

However, I noticed something about the names on the tombstones.

These names……they look like the names of people from the Eastern Continent and not the West.

Does that mean that I’ve been transported into some strange place in the East?

After following the dead for a long time the surroundings were no longer a wasteland, but a path paved with turquoise stone.

Looking down, I touched the stones on the ground and they were cold like ice.

Looking down the road, there seemed to be blue lights along the side of the road. taking a closer look, they were stone lamps lit with a blue light.

I had seen similar stone lamps a long time ago and they felt like something from an ancient garden.

“I am……I shouldn’t have crossed over?”

I laughed and shook my head.

“How is that possible.”

“What about how is that possible?”

Suddenly a small child’s voice came from behind. I quickly turned and saw a little girl in a blue cheongsam sitting on the stone lamp behind me.

Above the stone lamp.

The red makeup and the bun on her head instantly made me think of a ghost.

But thinking about it, it’s normal to see a ghost. I just saw a spirit, so it would be normal to see a ghost as well.

“Who are you little sister?”

“Hehehe, you are in my territory and you ask who I am? Also……I’m not a little sister. Rather, would be more appropriate for me to call you little sister instead.”

The little girl said with a laugh. Then she jumped down from the lamp and came up to me.

But after she got close, she moved back a bit……probably because of her short height and she didn’t want to look up.
